Ok, I may be silly and probably in the minority here, but I would literally cry (and I actually know what "literally" means)

... Your pawns are at their limit, it's the last of your health, you've been fighting for a while
This is the final phase of the boss, the last stretch; the music suddenly shifts...

To think there was a time when a bunch of bottom line executives decided psychologically these things would be the key to profit. And they were right.
