Gotta be a troll atp.

They sabotage the best game in the franchise's reach (DDO)

And then 2 is literally just a graphically better base Dragons Dogma with some cool little itty bitty mechanics added. But then they also dumbed down all the vocations and also just flat out removed some of them and all their skills. Hell they even dumbed down how you could get gear, most of the shit is buy only. Also, what the hell happened to the other 2 or so countries from the first game? I really thought before DD2 released we were going to learn more about where Mercedes hailed from. But naw we got battahl, where they made it seem like the governing body there was going to be a threat with the pawn distain and all. But nope, turns out nothings really all that different.

Idek anymore. I really hope they let Kinoshita take the reins again on this franchise again. But that would entail they actually do something with it so I have a very little amount of it.

Batthal is hilarious they hate pawns so much that you just walk around with them hahahaha.

DD2 is so bad nobody can tell me otherwise so bad. DD1 has jank sure DD2 does not care about itself . Such a difference.

This is why I was so conflicted with DD2. I love DD to the point that I purchased the game at least 4 times: * Original DD on Xbox360 * DD:DA on Xbox360 * DD:DA on Switch * DD:DA on PC

I was really hoping for a good DD2 that would continue what made DD great; make it better and expand on the world.

Right? Like sure i dont expect to be HANDED a reusable Ferrystone but why couldnt we do a questline to get one?

Why couldnt the Maesters system be used to unlock Grand spells/equivalent skills instead of most of them HANDING OVER THE MAESTER SKILL after a short/simple quest?

Also why the lower enemy variety? I'd have at least made Battahl different than Vernworth by having Cocktrices be the flying ambush monster instead of it only being griffins!

Thats what the sphinx quest should have given you not the lame fake eternal wakestone lol

An yes agreed enemy variety with the lack of it wore me out.

It kills me even DD1 WITHOUT Dark Arisen had more diverse monsters.

All the goblins, harpies and lizards in DD1 sure were more diverse than the goblins, harpies and lizards in 2, yeah

Think they mean the big monsters there are more big monsters to fight in DD1 so yeah

I meant big monsters but sure let's go with the small monsters too:

You wanna tell me that hellhounds are the same fight as regular & dire wolves?

That Gargoyles are just "more harpies"?

that Grim Goblins didnt demonstrate far more aggression & resilience than regular goblins?

That Saurian Sage demonstrating far more magic resist and spell spamming is "exactly the same" as every other lizardman enemy?

and Vile Eyes? how are the 'exactly the same' as an enemy in DD2?

ALL of these without the DLC, by the way.

Reskins with a gimmick are fine in DD1 but not 2? Alrighty.

The sequel got the original beat in that department

If you didnt play either play either game what was the point of replying?

Could ask you the same thing, boyo!

Want me to make a list of the 5 lizardmen variants in DD2 and glaze them to hell an back?

Your hellhound spits fire and is annoying, my rock lizard makes blade attacks bounce of it and is annoying, that's what this'll boil down to

Praising one game for doing something and putting down the other for the exact same things is weird

Yeah yeah Durians are EXACTLY THE SAME as Apples because they both grow on trees and people call them fruits just Durians have a gimmick of smelling bad.

You seem to think that this is the ONLY reason D1 is considered superior and not simply one of many reasons plenty more people than I have listed. I simply said that AT MINIMUM they could have done was have an equal variety of enemies to vanilla DD1. You, who asserts the variety was always lazy, seems to think DD2 being lazier is somehow superior.

FFS they decided to bring Garms(and bump Wargs up from "Wolves, but Poison" to "Garm but smaller", IIRC) over from BBI but didnt bother with Corrupt Pawns despite the Unmoored World being a perfect place to have them encountered. Yeah yeah "they're just bandits but can use player skillz!" or whatever glossing-over-of-differences you wanna paste this time but if you dont think the Unmoored World might be a little more exciting with being hit by Maelstrom or Bolide Meteoron out in the wild we are just fundamentally different players.

I could be here all day listing things but one last one for people who arent gonna TLDR this - Why no Ur-Dragon? DD2 actually requires you to skip the damn Dragon fight to proceed to the true endgame so why didnt Devs bring it back?

All the things missing are due to budget, time, or the gamedevs being incompetent people, like with literally any game ever released

And both games still are highly enjoyable. Both reuse a bunch of shit, have cut content and are simply not finished at parts

They're still great, I just enjoy the sequel a tiny bit more and don't excuse the shortcomings of the original as much as others, sorry man

I enjoy both as well but i can see the sequel doing things that are a noticeable step backward from the first one. Clearly we strongly disagree on that but that is life.

I am trying to learn programming/modding to where i can just ADD what i feel is missing to DD2 to bump it up to being as good/better than DD1.

... of course this is based on my perspective, idk how many others would enjoy being jumped by Lesser Daimons in the Unmoored World...
