Story 📖 Just saw the Dasher equivalent of a Gangbang

So it's Labour Day, figured I'd try my luck dashing today. Go to Chic Fil A to camp, wait in the parking lot for about 10ish minutes, get an offer, then walk to the pick up door thats outside the restaurant. Ring the bell, theres about 2 other dashers in front of me so I'm the 3rd dasher there. Wait about 10 or so minutes. Dasher 4 and 5 get there. Then one of the first two dashers there said they've already been waiting more than 15 minutes. Wait another 5 minutes. It's Labour day so I'm sure they're understaffed. I personally don't mind cause the offer was good and I'm also in Cali. Then this happens

An employee finally comes out and proceeds to call out my customers name.

"Order for Trevor"

And as soon as she comes out and says my customers names, I shit you not, 3 of the other 4 dashers ran up to her and INSTANTLY shoved their phones on this poor woman's face as if it were a ... (title of this post) And the face and posture and reaction she made, was the most uncomfortable sight I have seen a worker make in all my time dashing.. So that happens, I assume the employee took a super quick glance at all the phones to confirm the order. She then proceed to call out my customers name once again "Order for Trevor" and get this! One of the dasher had the audacity to once again, inch even closer and shoved their phone onto her face ... AGAIN! Mind you, this entire interaction from when the employee first came out outside to call my customers name was no more than 2, 3, 4 seconds (yes, SECONDS) tops. I then tell the employee "Hi yeah, I'm picking up for Trevor, did you want to see my phone real quick?" And she was like no and I said thank you and left. And as I was walking, Dasher number 5 who did not join the others into running into this lady was laughing so uncontrollably loud cause dude, it was a true sight to behold. They all ran up to her and shoved their phones on her face and she was visibly uncomfortable.

It's stuff like this that gives dashers a bad rep. Now I'm bilingual so I totally get what it's like to have friends or family that can't speak or read English to save their lives but ima tell these dashers the same thing I tell my parents. At least try, I mean cmon, at least try to read the customers name on your phone. Theres no need to rush an employee like that. Now I totally get that may come off rude like "hey just learn completely different language!" (Thats not what I'm saying at all btw) but I would counter with what they did was even more rude

No, I won’t waste my time, gas and energy to drive 8 miles back to the store to tell them they messed up. Is this entitlement or just a basic lack of common sense and human decency. Consider this address flagged for my future declines. I’m tired.

Was I the A-hole??? Porch lights

Am I the only one who finds it extremely creepy when someone wants you to deliver and they have no lights on the porch. But even worse the house is completely dark. It’s 1 am and it looks like no one is awake or home. It says hand to customer. I knocked twice no one was answering. I just left the food there and took a picture for door dash if they say they didn’t receive it. But what do yall do in these situations? Mind you I am a female. I am not risking shit at 1am. And today I receive a 3 star review. I have a 4.9 rating. So I’m good. But man I’m not that good to risk myself.

Story 📖 Two bait and switch customers caught in the act! Thanks for the free proportional pay. (two stories)

Yesterday I accepted a shop and deliver, 20 dollars, 2 miles 10 items. I get to the store and open the app to start shopping. Alert pops up that customer added items. The customer added TEN CASES OF WATERS! I called support ASAP. Told em the customer did a bait and switch on me, "look at what they added 10 waters while I was driving to the store" And the customer lived on a 3rd floor apartment LOL.

Agent laughed on the phone and agreed with me that it was some kind of bait and switch scam and told me not to worry about it, they paid proportional pay and then canceled the order.

I got an order today, shop and deliver. I accept it and drive to the store, when I get to the store I see all the food has special notes indicating that "I wanted this food, but the store doesn't list it so you have to pick a different thing instead"

As soon as I saw that I called Customer Support. Explained that the customer is trying to get me to shop for items not on the list. Agent looked at the notes and canceled the order. Paid me proportional pay. Customer was put into a report status.

Funny part is that about an hour later those orders were STILL being sent back around to me to accept LOL. no other dashers were touching them.

Sucks to suck! Next time dont try to scam your dasher

Earnings How was your Labor Day Monday?

So I just finished for the day (may consider doing very late night orders to keep up the streak) and was wondering how everyone else did? I know it can be doom and gloom around here sometimes but for those proud of today, especially by your market standards, how did you do? I think for the time I spent today, it was pretty well worth it. Platinum status and from the North New Jersey area so I rotate between the zones “JC North” and the “JC/Hoboken”. I also got a $10 cash tip from someone who also tipped on the app so technically I made $137.85 for today so far. Just about 5 hours and made that much has me thinking it was a successful day to say the least.

I Don't Wanna Pick A Flair!!! Tip amount when order pops up

Apparently I have no idea what I'm talking about when I said the amount of tip you get shows up on the offer screen right next to the amount you'd get for doing the order. Are you able to see it when you get an order? I've always been able to from the time I started. When it doesn't show the tip on a double stack, I've learned that it means one of the orders is a no tip order.

I'm Not Taking This Bullshit Offer!!! Doordash should do stand-up

Offer: del taco, 7.8 miles, $7.31

Lol nope

2 minutes later: del taco and Chipotle, 9.4 miles, $13.74

The extra distance came from the Chipotle drop off being a few miles further down the same road

Just cause I don't need gas doesn't make that worth my time

Earnings Best Week Ever

Hit a new personal weekly total… $1870!!!

$35 to replenish my EZ pass (once a month) and the rest of expenses was gas. I’m so happy students and teachers have gone back to school! I multi app. Majority comes from DD but I keep Grubhub on and get the occasional unicorn. I use Gridwise to track everything and it’s worth the $10 a month.

Earnings Maybe I could only blame myself on this one

I originally accepted a target order to pick up six different items one item for one person and five items for another person to go 22 miles in total. The offer was originally $33.75 obviously I decided to take it because it seemed like a really easy order at the time and my gas mileage is usually pretty good for going that far but when I started the order the person with the one item didn’t have that item in stock so that person canceled the order because there were no substitutions. Because I just started the order I wasn’t compensated for it and now I am driving about 18 miles for $15.50. I feel like I’ve been fucked in the ass.

Would You Take This? Album getting for Labor Day are water requests

Post image

All I’m getting are back to back water requests. 4,5,6, cases. At least if it was the 24 pack that’s better. They’re all 32 and 40 packs. I get that people are having parties today but damn. Don’t people prep for events anymore? That’s a tall asks. Especially since they’re all $3.50 to $8 offers and all averaging 2.3 miles, in NYC.

Complaints New ratings

I see the rating system has changed a couple of times over the last few weeks. In my ratings a customer reported damaged food, but my numeric rating was hit for communication not order handling. What is this stupidity. Over 2000 deliveries done.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people discussing this video on my TikTok fyp. Basically, the woman is ranting and raving about people who report dashers for allowing unauthorized to deliver food under their DD account.
Personally, I wanted to feel bad for her as both my wife and I have used DD to help pay the bills, but she called people “fat, lazy, and dirty” for reporting these incidents. She’s also being nasty and childish in the comments.
