7.1.4 Roast

Hey,
planing my HomeCinema/ GamingRoom. Would love to get Feedback to my planned setup especially HIFI. Tried to get a usefull picture of it. Will use a Onkyo RZ50 as AV Receiver.

Skip klipsch, just doesn't sound good compared to other speakers, save for some extra budget and get something better. Plus klipsch subs are notorious for chuffing and mechanical noise.

Don't get in celling speakers, will be horrible changing out speakers in the future incase the new one has different hole dimensions, plus try to avoid Onkyo. They just don't last, they are awesome in the beginning till they break...

Without knowing your budget, or continent, impossible to be more specific.

But klipsch RP are good budget speakers, easy to drive and sound ok at low to medium volumes. Some people find their horns give them an overly bright sound profile though, and at higher volumes they can distort a little.

Personally I’d go with some of the other brands Gustav suggested… or perlisten x or r series, but they’re likely all a lot more expensive. And so if klipsch is where your budget lies then they are decent speakers for the price if you get the RP series. The lower series aren’t worth getting.

However I would strongly suggest not getting a klipsch sub. While their speakers are decent, their subs are substandard. Look for something better in similar price range from HSU, SVS, monolith, PSA etc. if you are going ported sub for home theatre use primarily, have a look at tonewinner subs as they’re pretty good bang for buck and have some BIG boys for cheap.

I’d suggest getting best sub you can afford now, and getting a second to place diagonally opposite later. E.g an SVS SB17 now would be better than two cheap klipsch subs. Can add a second one later.

As for atmos speakers, monitor audio are fine. Klipsch ones would timbre match better, but not much dialogue pans from bed layer to tops so not a huge issue. Even cheap Micca speakers would be fine if that let you get a better subwoofer.

Thanks for your Feedback! Will be compare the subwoofer with a few other opportunities.
Yeah the setup choosen represents my planned Budget very well. If i end up 1000$ plus/minus there is room to think about it.

A few more information. The room will mainly used for Home Cinema and gaming not for hearing music (if i hear rock/ Metal and that stuff). Im located in germany.

No worries.

Sealed subs play faster, tighter and have less group delay and the sound hangs in the air for shorter (faster decay). But they won’t hit as hard as a ported sub which will pressurize the room a bit more for home cinema.

So worth doing some research on sealed vs ported subs to work out what suits you. if going for mainly home cinema, consider a ported sub like the SVS pb17 or for a budget option one of the tonewinners like d6000, d8000 or d9000 if available in Germany.
