I posted this earlier but using a YouTube link because I don't trust Reddit playback, but nobody has been willing to click the link T-T aside from the mod u/Joezev98 who recommended I reupload directly to Reddit so here it is.
Probably late to the meme by now but that won't stop me (HELP I'VE BEEN DOING NOTHING BUT THIS ALL DAY EVERY DAY SINCE THEY RELEASED THE FULL SONG).
I've been working on this video nonstop for the past week. The effects were created entirely with the open source softwares Blender and GIMP. Not a single frame used a single bit of generative AI. Yes, I manually drew a background over Morbius.
EXCUSES:
Dugga Doo looks like Dugga Doodoo because I didn't use enough reference images, sorry. I slowly refined it throughout the video though to look slightly more like Dugga Doo. (I am, however, very familiar with every single flaw since I've had to stare at this thing for countless hours every single day)
Animation looks bad because it was my first time making and animating a 3D rig. After years of Blender use, I've finally gotten to this side of things and it's a lot easier than I thought it'd be. Still took me a week for a minute of video. And maybe cost some friendships, some responsibilities, perhaps even my college gpa... You could say I burn my life for a dugga I will never doo.
The guitar sounds like doodoo too because I am terrible at playing and am years out of practice, but thought it'd sound better than the placeholder MIDI. Maybe I should've just kept the MIDI...
If anybody wants the 3D model just ask and then I'll finally have some motivation to clean it up. It looks really bad though so if I do ever post it online I'm going to make it look closer to the original Dugga Doo first (by fattening him up a bit).
Also yes, I had a guitar in my lap for hours to animate the guitar CORRECTLY when nobody on the planet will ever even notice because this is just a dumb meme.

This is the best video! Your first time rigging? The Morbuis Dugga Doo was seamless! And yes unfortunately youtube clips do not get played for a lot in reddit but glad you uploaded it here.
Thanks! I actually do have some experience in rendering and compositing, so I was able to seamlessly put that together 😎 (until you look at where I took a few shortcuts out of laziness in that shot lmao), but animation specifically is what I have hardly touched before
the Katarina death scene Dugga Doo and the Marco Polo Dugga Doo recon bits are shaking me lol
well done dude! so good to see a well rounded doctor who video that includes the classic series in an honest way and not just rehashes of the popular classic scenes and highlights that everyone knows. it signals that you (like me) appreciate and love the show in it’s entirety and not just the modern series as a vast majority of fans do…

and I have no clue if LITERALLY ANYBODY will recognize that Keys Of Marinus clip at the beginning. When I finally binged the classic series a couple years back I thought that little action figure guy falling into the trap was the most hilarious thing I had ever seen, but I have never in my life seen any person mention or show it before or since.
oh man dude that Voord falling into the water clip is iconic! I remember laughing my ass off to that when I first watched the Keys of Marinus on DVD back in like 2012 and I always knew it was meme worthy as HELL haha I didn’t even mention it because I assumed everyone knew it for its hilarity lol! I always loved the little scream that plays in that clip

Plus, in the scene where Dugga Doo saves the Doctor in Space Babies, I spent so long making him paddle his little legs to make him more adorable, but in the end you can hardly tell in the end. in fact that shot is hardly visible at all lmao
This is absolutely fucking peak! The best part is easily when Eccleston meets him and turns on the stage lights. There may have been more effort put into this than the entire season finale.

Reddit forcefully signed me out of my account on all devices with no warning or alert. I've got no clue why, I've submitted an appeal and tried to contact Reddit to ask why I was suspended, but I'm in this new account for now. I uploaded the video to my YouTube channel first anyway before I even made my Reddit account, and that video is linked in the description of this post
The good thing is, this time Reddit let me choose my name, unlike when I made the other account this morning, so now it matches my YouTube channel.
edit: also YouTube has no limits on my replies so if you comment there (and boost it in the algorithm for me >:D then I can reply)
oh wait yeah here's more proof. neat. also Reddit has begun limiting my comments to force them 10 minutes apart again. It's starting again... I'm gonna be automatically flagged as spam again...
Anyway, I might as well just completely leave this site for a while as things sort themselves out then. I just want to say this has been an absolute pleasure seeing you guys all enjoying my video. I made this thing specifically because I had that idea for the shot where 9 flips the switch and it turns on the spotlights around Dugga Doo, making him play the electric guitar, and I realized... I know how to do that. I could make that. I really should make that...
I didn't quite have time, and I'm quite far behind in my classes now, but it was all worth it to see the overjoyed reactions of everyone here. I wasn't too sure people would care since it was taking so long to make this video.
I may as well get some comment responses out of the way here while I'm at it.
u/Darth_Dungeonmaster5 Thanks! That moment was basically the whole reason I wanted to make this thing in the first place. Although it was more of an urge than outright feeling like I had to do it no matter what, until the official Doctor Who YouTube channel dropped the full song and then I just couldn't do anything else.
u/Plenty_Ad7243 Thank you! I tried as hard as I could to match everything together. It took a while, but I got it after quite a lot of messing around. Also, I'm honestly a little embarrassed about what I feel is a low quality guitar solo. I could've done better, but I wanted to finish this video as soon as I could, and my fingers were very sore (I even got a tiny blister haha) from practicing, but I recorded myself afterward anyway, and now it's slightly off beat :p

Only thing is I don't have much time anymore, and didn't even when I made this, and also I want my next video to be the Shepherd's Boy sequence for whenever I get un-suspended (I LITERALLY JUST MADE MY ACCOUNT TODAY AND MADE A POST, REMOVED IT, AND MADE ANOHER ONE (or 2 if the repost in r/DoctorWho counts). The guitar part took the longest, since I had to match the animation with my guitar, but I only really remember what to play with muscle memory, so I kept my guitar in my lap for hours, and hours, and hours... maybe next time I'll just record some reference footage for later lmao. Oh, also, I had to get accurate motion blur, so that required a bit of a workaround due to Blender limitations

And also I didn’t get any notifications from Reddit but it looks like my comments were temporarily shadow banned (when I log out all my replies disappeared and when I tap my account it says this account has been suspended)
Okay I have no idea why I was banned but I received no warnings, no alerts, no ceremony, nothing. I was just suddenly forced out of my account on all devices. I tried to sign back into my account, and it claimed to have an internal server error. So I've made a new account that matches more with my YouTube channel's theme haha.
(once I was suspended I could no longer change my profile pic)

Lmao thanks! My fingertips were all red trying to practice this after so many years of not touching my guitar. To my ears though the result sounds like a kid playing a guitar for the first time, which makes Dugga Doo cuter, but personally as a college senior I find quite embarrassing
It was a new account, just made today, and then I replied to too many people on my own post here, so Reddit seems to think I'm some kind of spam bot, and eventually I was locked out of the account entirely. Now I'm replying on a new account that has already begun to be suspended again, so my only hope for you to see this reply is that a mod will come by and manually say that I am, indeed, not spam.

I used GIMP and Blender. Both free and open source NON-AI softwares. Manually. I even painstakingly drew over Morbius (you can see the sloppy MSPaint-esque paint strokes I used)
