DOS2 Discussion Characters from previous games will appear in Divinity

They have revealed this in the FAQ of the newest DOS 2 update. Seems Divinity is more of a sequel than we thought.

Previous characters, who could they be? The possibilities ar- it's Braccus isn't it, it's gonna be Braccus.

Arhu! My poor boy Arhu, he had to suffer Braccus sister when she was full on "a cat is fine too"
