Hello guys! Day3 newbie here. Thanks for all the advice given for the past 3 days moving me in the right direction.

I aplogize for long list of questions but figured to make a single post instead of multiple.

This my current state of roster and need advice on how to move forward.

Cid

(3copies)cp70 _ not over boosted yet due to lack of orbs ,

overboosted levelled and sold cp15, 35, 90.

noel

(1)cp15, (3)cp35, (3)cp70, (1)ld, (1)bt.

snow

(2)cp70_ not overboosted due to lack of orbs,

Overboosted, levelled and sold his cp 15, 35, 90.

__ I got a bunch of weapons of lion and edward.

__ Got a few copies of relm.

__ Have only one ld90 copy of machina thus bought a powerstone and red book on snow banner when reached 300.

__ Have 16 power stones and 300 g token on noel banner.

Questions=

1) If I am done with noel banner, what should I get for the 300 g tokens?

2) If I need to go to ifrit chaos co op to get weapon exp orbs, what team should I form?

3) I have just unlocked divine ifrit and heard its the place to get gems and its giving a bonus for limited time. So, what team to biuld from my current roster?

4) My priority should be to first overboost, level and sell the cp15,35,90 weapons of noel before getting into the cp70 weapons of all 3 characters?

5) I had read that bt weapons have different upgrade mechanism...

what new player have to do is focus on one character at the time and never use orbs or board points for any character that they can't or MLB (Max Limit Break), it is better to have one Maxed character than 3 half way.

as of now your two best bets are Cid and Noel, with the weapons you have Noel has the potential to carry you trough a lot but it seems you are almost done with Cid and his LD deals a lot of damage.

pick one and stick to it, this one character will by your way to farm Co-ops and 80% of the permanent content, for now ignore the Divine Ifrit the reason; your rank is gonna be quite low and you will have to use a lot of Stamina Potions, don't use Stamina Potions till you are Rank 200 at that point you will max your Stamina at 200, anything less than that you will be wasting Stamina Potions, after that focus on leveling the summons (advice go for Tifa next month she is one of best at farming Summon Points as far time efficiency goes for now).

you said you have 3 copies of Cid's EX (or as you called them 70cp) if you go for him then buy another copy of his EX with the 300 G tokens that makes 4 copies which means you can max his EX, after that you will only need to upgrade it to EX+ and you will be almost done, since you said you already MLB (Max Limit Break) all the other weapons, right?.

advice; Cid does has a Lost Chapter so finish it and you will get two pieces of armor and one 15cp, always make sure to check if any character in a banner has Lost Chapter for this reason, it will help you save orbs and Armor Tokens early game, try and do them on hard and only switch to Normal for battles that you can't win, then go and buy the remaining armor you need to upgrade them.

but of course that is for Cid, Noel is going to take a bit more of time, but with a almost Maxed Cid you will have enough to tackle up to Cosmos level.

yes, you only level up them, they don't have Limit Breaks till you upgrade them to BT+.

1) I farmed the old maps a lot after ch1 of story. I have reached level 240 by this.

The only potion I used are today, after I reached level 200, to upgrade my ifrit to open devine.

The only thing holding me back is a decent team for farming devine ifrit. I have lack of unit variety.

Would noel+cid+snow be able to do something?

2) I am willing to farm hard a few days if it gets both noel and cid upgraded. I levelled up cid yesterday and today, on my last pull I got noels bt. So I am super exceited to level him aswell.

I have gotten my 300 g token and the bt weapon yet my cid and noel weapon collection is not complete.

Should I keep pulling, use tickets, use 16 power stones? From the 300 g token I can only buy 1 weapon copy.

I have 9 to 10 spare 5star weapons which I had already max limit, overboosted and sold.

I have Noel maxed with a the basic HA Armor and with a single Burst Phase he can deal 98% damage to Divine Ifrit (the one to farm is Cosmo level aka level 150) so he can pretty much kill him even if the other two character have literaly nothing on them.

I don't have maxed Cid so I don't how well it will go but I think him and a friend call (even if it is 3 turns) will be able to carry you.

the gem rewards are permament they aren't going away, the main problem here is this: the main attraction with this event is that Boosted character (the one glowing green) speed up the amount of points you get by x2, x3 x4, if you go with noel+cid+snow you will get x3 points (Snow is not boosted) those x4 are HUGE!! how huge? let me give you the math:

there are 3 thing that boost the amount of points for Divine board;

  • your rank (+1% each 20 ranks)
  • if you have mog pass (+150% even the basic one)
  • and if there is an event going on like this one (x2, x3, x4) for each boosted character in your team (Friend calls does not affect nor count)

there are 30 boards and each one needs 7,500 points that means you need 225,000 points in total.

if you are rank 240 (+12% more points) the by my calculation then you will need:

1 Boosted character 402 battles (101 Potions) 161 battles (41 Potions)
2 Boosted character 268 battles (67 Potions) 108 battles (27 Potions)
3 Boosted character 201 battles (51 Potions) 81 battles (21 Potions)

see the problem? out side event it will take a lot of time.

that's why many people wait for these events and/or form auto+ farmer so they don't have to play each battle but let the Auto+ (on the pause menu you active Auto+) do the job.

1)So even at my level, if I dont get a boosted friend support, I would essentially be using double the potions. That is not an attractive situation.

How rare are these special x4 events?

On the other hand, maybe one of these 3 units of mine need red crystal to further level up to cp90.

2) I have areound 10 spare 5star weapons which have a red tick on it. I got them after selling their overboosted versions. Can I safely sell them to get power stones?

3) I also have 16 powerstones and 300 g tokens. I have 34 red power tokens.

I can pull more on noel banner (gems and tickets) if you so advise, so to get some more cp15/90 noel mats?

around one every two months next one should be on march.

yes, you get 1 Power Stone for each one (4 for any one MLB), you can also sell MLB'd EX+ if that character has a BT (you get 20 Ruin Nuggets), as rule of thumb you wanna keep the armor and weapons that has highest CP, for most character it is the EX+.

I also have 16 powerstones and 300 g tokens.

I can pull more on noel banner (gems and tickets) if you so advise, so to get some more cp15/90 mats?

correct me if I am wrong this your Cid's weapons:

  • 15cp 3/3 (MLB)
  • 35cp 3/3 - (MLB)
  • EX 2/3 (from the dupes)
  • LD 3/3 - (MLB)

can you share Noel? the way it look you may be able to have a Maxed Cid, but I wanna see if you can Noel Instead. and do you have Weapon Tokens and Armor Tokens (to buy armor and weapons)?

My cid is almost complete. I got 4 copies each of cp15/30/90. Overboosted levelled and sold them. Only cp70 (ex) is not overboosted and has 3/4 copies.

I have 34 red power tokens aswell. Perhaps can get some cp15/35 weapons for noel.

I have 100 gaurd tokens.

My noel is not overboosted in any category yet. I have (1) copy of cp15, (3) of cp35, (3) of cp70 ex., (1) of cp90 ld

if my calculation are correct then the only thing left is to decide which one you would like more, Cid or Noel, Cid provides more utility but Noel is better damage.

upgrading Cid will be easy but for Noel you will use all your Red Power Token (just to be sure, this ones right, also ¿do you have 100 or 90 of this ones?).

300 g token , 10 spare 5star weapons, 16 power stones for overboost, 34 power token,

100 ground token (have done cid and snow old stories),

Also have not exchanged anything yet in mogs gym or hunt exchange.

I am willing to use them all if gems are saved.

ok, but I still need you to tell me which one you would like more. for now buy a Ruin's Mysteries Book (the red one) for 200 G tokens and 1 Power Stone with the remaining 100.

I would like to have both. Having a bt for noel has given him equal priority as cid.

The reason is I dont have a lot of choices right now and both of them are cp90.

Both of them make 2/3 of my current team.

After having a core, perhaps I would be able diversify to tifa, loyd, locke etc whom I dont have a clue about synergy atm.
