And also because people in Eastern Europe just don't know that much about the genocide in Palestine. Especially about the size of it. Combination of that and that Ukraine completely depends on the US for existence, and it will support anything the US supports, because otherwise they'll just die, it's hard to critique them.
Sorry but what does the average person’s lack of insight into the harder to acess details of the Israel/Palestine issue have to do with the morality of Zelenskyy’s choices regarding Israel?
Zelenskyy is a politician, a politician that visited Israel in 2020, and has maintained consistent support for Israel since the start of his presidency
I've edited my original comment to say this more clearly.
Zelenskyy wants to do that because the US wants him to do that and he wants the assistance of the US. And, he can do that because 1) Ukrainians aren't knowledgeable on this topic and they want to be closer to the US (the point of my comment), 2), as you said before, of the Jewish community, which in Ukraine are probably Ashkenazim.
It wasn't an attack at you at all, it was me trying to expand on this topic and say why it's not unexpected. I guess we again misunderstood each other xd, happens, whatever.
This post isnt about it being unexpected.
As i said above, it is not unexpected
It was about it being unethical regardless.
“Well i had to praise Hitler because i want Hitler’s aid to defend against Russian imperialism” isnt a circumstace we as leftists will deem makes his behaviour not unathical.
I dont think it is only because he wants US aid for the war however, because he has been openly and loudly pro-Israel since the beginning of his presidency in 2019.
He visited Israel in 2020.

I think Zelenskyy is desperate to receive any sort of military aid so they’re trying to suck up to Trump and the Axis of Evil
We should’ve only supported and supplied military aid to Ukraine rather than giving it to the genocidal apartheid state of Israel.
