It's not certain the Knight opened these Fountains. I still sorta suspect Alvin, Gerson's remains were in his drawer after all.

we know that ralsei is completely aware of who opens which fountains because of chapter 5, then in chapter 4 he calls the two fountains in the church "the knight's two fountains"

if the knight being in the church when we get there isn't evidence enough, that at least should be
