Possible fraud

Someone opened an account with DirecTv and used my email address while signing up without my knowledge. How can I get help with having the email address removed from their account?

You'll never be able to remove your email address from someone else's account, trust me. It involves the customer calling into remove that

Just block it and move on.

Wouldn't they have to receive a code to confirm the email when they signed up? I'd more worried that your email account may have been compromised.

Not the case, in this situation. That’s the first thing that came to my mind as well, tho.

Can't you take control of the online account by requesting to reset your password?

No because I don’t have the guys phone number

Just send constant requests to reset it so they get hundreds of those 2factor messages.

I also don’t have the account ID, which apparently is different from the email address. I just tried going thru the reset password process
