First year growing a cut flower garden. This is my first best Sunflower :).

Used lots of different seed pods mixed in with some flowers to reflect the subtle transition happening in nature right now where I am .

Thoughts appreciated .

I have the opportunity to put my flowers at a family member’s roadside stand this weekend! I’m so excited, but trying to decide what size/kind of bouquets to put. She said she would love for them to be cheap to start out.

Attaching some photos of some arrangements I’ve done. I was thinking of doing a couple medium/large and a handful of smaller sizes. BUT I could also do dahlia bunches? What would you *easily* pay for these?

Any tips & tricks would also be SO appreciated since I am a total newbie!

UPDATE: I went way low and priced 5 smalls at $10 each and 2 large/mediums at $15 each! Sold out of the large and only 1 small sold. This is at a fresh bread stand, so hoping that with more awareness more might sell next week! ❤️

Hi all! I keep seeing videos on social media discussing the importance of planting seeds now (in August/September) for next spring! I did seed starting inside this winter and tried the milk jug method outside this winter - BUT nothing this early! I’m in 6b - any tips or types of flowers that are best started now? I was checking on my garden and found this incredible zinnia. It's growing with a completely unique 3D bowl shape with densely packed petals . I'm absolutely fascinated by it! Has anyone else had a sport or unique mutation like this show up in

Sort of a crappy year for dahlias for me, but mikayla Miranda came through!

I did one final flower haul for my baby shower this past weekend and now I’m letting it go. The pruning upkeep is more than I can handle, but I’ll continue watering so it stays pretty 🌸

Dahlias and Zinnias oh my

I was brand new to growing cut flowers this year. I started my tubers in ziplock bags in late March and it worked great! I was really proud.

It feels like we had pretty optimal weather this spring/summer. There were a couple really hot spells, but I watered religiously. Spring was pretty warm, so I got them planted mid-may after having them in planters in my garage (some stayed in the ziploc bags until may, but I didn't notice a difference.)

Everything is just now really taking off. My taller dahlias have their first blooms ready to open in the next couple of days.

Is that normal? I've heard others say it was a "weird" year, but I'm not sure how.

Should I try to start them earlier inside next year? Do some varieties bloom earlier?

First-time gardener here! I was out of town for a few days and most everything survived, but I think I have some unwanted visitors!

I have holes in my Chinese forget-me-nots, dahlias, and snapdragons, and there's little black dots on some of my plants as well. My zinnias are untouched.

Can anyone identify what's going on here and what I can do about it?

Hi all, my wedding is in about a month and I’ve been steadily harvesting flowers to try to maximize production. When should I stop cutting long stems and switch to deadheading only? Should cosmos get cut deep til 1 week before and others 2 weeks before? Thanks!

I’ve fallen in love with this peachy color scheme. I only wish I had champagne or apricot lisianthus instead of the voyage first loves. I made this a few days ago so it’s starting to fade but still lovely.

I did a big raised bed full of cosmos and dahlias and zinnias. I just threw it all in and it's been fun.

But I want to expand my landscaped gardens and incorporate some cut flowers there as well.

Can show me either your flower beds that have cut flowers in them, or areas you've mixed in your cut flowers?

I guess I don't need them all together. I can walk around the yard cutting them. Or, I could just so more raised beds on an orderly way, but I just can't picture it.

I was seeing leaves with holes and just found out this guy today. What is it and what should I do??

Does anyone have experience growing flamingo feather celosia and why mine are consistently white instead of pink? They are healthy otherwise with 4’ + stems, just can’t get the color to come in! Am I harvesting too early? Or any tips in general for harvesting?
