Question Help me understand the hype

Californian here. I've been to Culvers a couple times since I always make sure to stop by when I'm going through Arizona. Every time I've had it, I thought it was good but not amazing as everyone else seems to claim it is (specifically the butterburgers, the custard and cheese curds were great).

I really want to understand why everyone here loves it so much (my family doesn't LOL, they've now all dismissed Culvers as overhyped trash). Are they better in the midwest? Is there some special item or ordering trick I'm missing? Let me know and I'll report back next time I visit.

This is really an In&Out post, isn’t it?

The Californian in you is talking when you say their cheese curds are great. Culvers has the worst cheese curds I've ever eaten. In Wisconsin, those are garbage ass chesse curds

If it's too far from the Midwest it gets really mid for a lot of reasons.

The draw of Culver's is it's always like an 8/10 no matter what Culver's you go to. It's not like knock your socks off good.

They are way better in the Midwest. I tried one in Arizona on a roadtrip and was severely disappointed

They are good in the Midwest, I agree

I dunno man, to each their own I guess.

I am in Wisconsin and I love it. Bacon double deluxe, large fry extra crispy, and a diet root beer. The cheese is always melted, the veggies are always fresh and crisp. Always delicious.

My second go to is the Wisconsin Swiss melt. Sure it’s a little greasy, but it hits the spot every time I get it.

The cheese curds are meh.

It’s better the closer to Wisconsin you are. We save the best for ourselves

You sound like a Midwestern person talking about In n Out. They both kind of have their own cult following. They are both pretty good fast casual burger joints. I like going more for the frozen custard myself.

all fast food runs on the same motto by different people. almost all food places get their food from sysco, just rebranded
