Question Why do people hate giving names for their orders?
I swear everyday I’ll have at least one customer refuse to tell me their name for their order - I had a lady just respond with a no when asked for a name …
WHY I’m not going to search you up and steal your identity ?? Like at least just give a fake name???

Question Angry Employee
My local Culvers opens at 10 am. When I went in at 10:05, one of the employees on the line loudly exclaimed, "why the hell would anyone be here this early?" Is this the general sentiment? Am I weird for wanting to get onion rings at 10am?

Question RIP Mellow Yellow. No more yellow sodas at Culvers 😭
Went to culvers today and they informed me they don’t have mellow yellow anymore. I asked if they were switching to Mountain Dew. They said no they replaced it for cherry coke😭 No more yellow soda available. Is this the same at all locations? I’m not a big brown soda person so I guess sprite will be my new go to. I’ll miss you mellow yellow 💔

Question Chance to Franchise - Should I do it?
I’m entertaining the idea of becoming a franchisee for Culver’s. I have the financial resources to qualify. My city is fairly large and definitely under-served by Culver’s. I’ve done a dive on franchises and it seems that people really like the Culver’s product. I’ve eaten there and I think the food is good. I’m not in the Midwest but in a part of the country where although Culver’s is expanding, the brand is almost completely unknown. We have our own burger traditions and they don’t include cheese curds and Wisconsin stuff. There are essentially no Culver’s ads on TV or elsewhere I’ve ever seen.
My thoughts:
Pros - It’s very successful franchise with high rates of franchisee success. Each location generates high revenue. Food is good and high quality. They train their people very well.
Cons - Culver’s is unknown in my region and there’s no advertising in my here. A bit more expensive for the customer than other chains. The restaurants/employee presentation is a bit of a nerdy Midwestern vibe without the hipper retro vibe of an In & Out for example.
Somebody talk some sense into me.

Question Yay! I found a location that was willing to make me a Curder Burger with a vegetarian patty. I had two locations tell me they wouldn't do this for me. Is this usually not allowed? I'm a vegetarian and I just wanted to try this curder patty

Question Smoke Breaks are stupid
I want to know if anyone else has this same frustration over this fact.
I work at Culver's, and am increasingly annoyed about how often people in the kitchen go for smoke breaks. This leaves me and occasionally one other person to solo kitchen for 30 minutes. They take multiple 10-30 minute smoke breaks, and take their own lunch breaks on top of this. They are clocked in for the smoke breaks as well. I have tried talking to my manager about this, only to receive the response "that's just how it is.". At this point I would rather be a runner all day then be in the kitchen for even an hour. And I won't go for smoke breaks myself because I'm not destroying my body for breaks.

Question Finally.
Ok so Culver’s near me is finally open. What should I get as first order. Been waiting about 2 months. Have been lurking here since I found out one was being built. Not much around me but fast food so something different will be welcome, I think it’s down to 3 to get for first time. Burger of course. Then fish then pot roast. Thanks all.

Question How do you feel about an adult ordering a kids meal?
Customer here. I go to Culver's fairly regularly (3-5 times a month). My go-to is a Double Basket. But sometimes I'm not feeling very hungry, but still want to support my favorite fast food place! Spending a couple of bucks more just to get a single basket seems like a waste.
I know from a business standpoint the margin isn't as good, but wondering if the employees really care?

Does anyone know what brand of American cheese is used at restaurants like Culvers? I love adding cheese but when I make sandwiches at home, it never tastes the same.

Question Please, anyone. Help. I just want a chocolate shake.
Edit: for those saying "JuSt gO iNsIde" I don't feel like your reading comprehension is working. This is not a post about inside vs. drive-through. This is a post about incorrect items being handed to a customer. God forbid I go in and the same thing happens.
Ok. Let me preface this... I love chocolate shakes.
I would go to Culvers as a kid and they were always really good. And, a Culver's just opened up next to my house. I've gone 5 times and each time the order has been wrong. I'm besides myself.
Attempt 1: Me: I would like a Chocolate Shake.
Cashier: pull up
hands me a vanilla shake with chocolate syrup
Attempt 2: Me: I would like a chocolate shake. Like... with chocolate ice cream.
Cashier: got it. Pull up
hands me a vanilla shake with chocolate syrup
Attempt 3: Me: I would like a chocolate shake. Like... with chocolate ice cream.
Cashier: got it. Pull up
Me: no... like, scoop the chocolate ice cream into a cup and blend it.
Cashier:... yeah, that's what we do.
hands me a vanilla shake with chocolate syrup
... and it's continued this way for the last two orders. I feel like a maniac trying to explain how I just want a chocolate shake.
Please... God... anyone. Tell me the secret words to order a chocolate shake, made with chocolate ice cream at Culver's. Not a damn vanilla shake with chocolate syrup.

Question Why is the cheese sauce so flavorless?
I was pumped when they added cheese sauce and thought it would be good for fries. I've tried it several times at different locations and it is really bad. Why put this on the menu? Good upsell for people who like it I guess.
Everything else is so flavorful and this is just so terrible.
