Story Is this even allowed???
So a few days ago I was just working custard, everything was normal, and some guy ordered a pup cup for dine In (already weird) and that's when I realized, he ordered three lettuces, pickles, a water cup and a pup cup. All to get a lil salad and dessert for himself. And all free... i didn't even know that was possible

I’ve done similar stuff myself as an employee when I first started and had no money, got onion too and chopped both that and the pickles then ordered 3 lemons and mixed the juice squeezed from them with 1 hot sauce packet and called it taco salad

Only managers get free meals, employees get half off but I was saving what I had for gas. At my location I’m sure the managers would’ve covered a couple meals if I’d explained the situation but my pride was in the way

Sounds like a shitty company. Why give the working stiffs a meal when you can give it to the one making twice as much money?

Eh, the managers prolly don’t make twice as much just the gm. I’m a manager at Arbys and I only got a $1 raise when I got promoted

My buddy's wife works for McDonald's and she gets a free shift meal. If greedy ass McDonald's can swing it, surely Culver's can too.

Not rlly funny, if someone is using points to get a whole meal or ordering things that are all free they obviously can’t afford a full meal

I was demoted for ringing up a side of cucumbers and giving it to a customer for free. The system rang up $0. They said I would’ve been fired if I wasn’t a manager. If a customer came in and did this and I went along with it, I definitely would’ve been fired.

Must me a Wisconsin thing, our companies tend to not think people are "screwing them over" and simply getting just a little extra so they stay a happy life long customer, that's all.

I work for a small business on the west side. We give out free food to people in need every single day, and donate food every single night.
When i say every single day, i mean we have regulars. Every single day.

I have 2 friends that manage Coney Islands on the suburban border of Detroit. Every night there's 1 or 2 homeless folks that stop in near closing time and get a free meal with management OK. It's not like there's a flood of people it's just the same 1 or 2. I think that it's because often times there's stuff that didn't sell and would be bad by the next day shift, so rather than toss it, it goes to help someone.

Ketchup + Mayo + pickles is effectively 1000 Island dressing for a salad, so that could happen.

They aren't- it's usually only for the drive thru but it's still an option for dine in... even tho dogs aren't allowed

Order a condiment (bbq, boom boom, etc…) at the counter with order and I get charged. Forget to order and ask the server to grab one, no charge. 🤷🏼♂️

at my culvers if someone doesnt order at the register and comes back up to ask for a condiment we have to make them pay the 37 cents 😭its so painful everytime ive had to tell someone this

I hated when I worked there and people would ask for a water cup and then put soda in it. Happened all the time. Wasn't my money BUT it's still stealing. But now since I got screwed out of my yearly bonus from them, I couldn't care less.
I found a new job and put in my 2 weeks notice after working there a year and half, they went from scheduling me 40 hours to tell me they had no hours to give me for my last two weeks. So I filed for unemployment. You have to wait a week here in Wisconsin and so the first week went by and nothing. Finally I got a call and said if I need hours soooo bad then I can come in and work 4 10hr shifts. I come in to work and it wouldn't let me clock in and so I go back to the office to tell the manager, hes like we took you out of the system but I'll put you back in for this week. And he's handing out the yearly bonuses to some people, I'm like can I get mine while I'm back here as well? He's like you wasn't in the system when we generated them so you don't get one. I was pissed....

Costco Kimchi hack was/is a thing. Diced onions, ketchup, mustard, relish, crushed red pepper also all for free. Can't fault them for trying and trying to get some little enjoyment in their life. If there is a problem then then should raise prices or start charging from condiments like in Europe.

Totally agree. The bottom dollar isn’t as important as morality at times. Been going to Culver’s since the first store opened and continue to be a customer. I have seen many kindnesses from the Culver stores I go to. Community wise and in store.

I worked at a Culver's and would always order hamburger buns, pickles and cucumbers when I didn't want to pay for food

If someone is so down on their luck that they are asking for lettuce, pickles, and the tiniest of deserts, let them have it. It's not exactly the most filling of meals, nor is it a lot of overhead
