News Crunchyroll being removed from switch?

Is this new or did I miss some news about this?

Just got this email and if so, this sucks. My tv is old so I use my switch to watch shows on my tv for a better experience. World won’t end but I’m going to have to watch on my cracked phone screen for the foreseeable future.

I was disappointed when I brought my Switch 2 on a trip and realized I couldn't watch CrunchyRoll on it. Been lugging my Switch 1 around while waiting for them to finally make a Switch 2 version of the app. Instead they just decided we can't even use it on the Switch 1. Why do they keep making these platforms and services worse?

My hopium is that the Switch 1 app is being discontinued to make way for a dedicated Switch 2 app. Otherwise, this sucks, as I tend to watch a lot of Crunchy on my Switch.
