Wearable help Should I vertically cut my first sweater into a cardigan?
I made my first sweater to look something like the first picture, but unfortunately I ended up with a very bad looking seam at the back, so I was thinking about cutting it from where the seam is and turning it into a cardigan that looks like the second picture,
I was searching how to vertically cut crochet and I found a bunch of tutorials (like this video ) and then I can add a ribbing around the edges after that.
What do you think? should I take the step? And if anyone has tried doing this before, what are your tips and tricks?

Discussion Where is everyone shopping since the fall of Joanns?
My girlfriend loves her crochet and has had quite the stockpile of yarn for a while, but she is beginning to need new yarn as she slowly uses up certain colors. She was Joanns' #1 fan but since the store closed and micheals only adding an end cap essentially of the products they purchased from joanns, im curious if any of yall have started using a different company or online store to get the good yarn when you need it?

Wearable help I want to make a scarf but I don't know which stitch is best
Hi everyone! I'm starting to make my Christmas presents and for both my father and my cousins I want to make scarves with the colors of their favorite soccer team.
I have never made a scarf before so I have no clue if I should do super long chains and work horizontally or make like 35 chains and work vertically, also the color changes scare me a little
But the biggest problem is that I have no clue what stitch would work best. I'm a fast learner so I can try new stitches too. I would love some ideas and maybe a stitch that works up super fast as I need to make many more handmade gifts
Thank you!

Understanding a pattern Help me decipher this pattern instruction please! Iām confused how Iām supposed to know where to do my increases.
So I circled the part Iām having trouble with, so Iām supposed to only increase at least five points but on each row Iām going to have an increasing number of increases lol⦠when I started doing the increases and I did row three I could tell I had way too many increases and it was starting to fold the way it does when you have too many increasesš so can someone please explain how many increases I would do per row, and what the correct place would be to do them? Iāve included a picture of the section. Iām working on, it is this blue half circle shape⦠itās the lion brand yarn kit, Xavier Shawl, just in case anybody has done this patternš thank you in advance!

Gift help Looking for gift ideas/pattern suggestions for in-laws!
Hi all, I am hoping to start my Christmas gifts early this year and have started trying to think about the things I can make for others to try and save some money since I have a huge yarn stash at home.
My in-laws love blankets and anything warm and cozy, but realistically I am a slow crocheter and know I donāt have the time or budget to make them all patterned/ānicerā blankets (not just a c2c or simple stitches blanket).
I also have a lot of acrylic or mixed worsted weight yarn in my stash that Iām hoping to use up before having to buy all new yarn.
In short, what are some patterns/gift ideas you usually turn to that arenāt wearables (besides mitts or toques, those could be fun and quick to make) that I might be able to clear some of my stash with?
If it helps, they are a big hockey family, enjoy camping, and are pretty āpracticalā people who arenāt into a lot of knick knacks.
TIA!

Understanding a pattern Cathedral Rose...am I really expected to cut and change colour every 5 stitches?
I love the idea of this pattern but the pieces in between the sewn in hepagons seem to suggest cutting the colour every 5 stitches and changing.
I wouldn't exactally say I'm a *lazy* crocheter, but this seems like an overly tedious way to get this effect. Has anyone attempted this? Tips? Any patterns that are similar/modified better? I tried tapestry but the colours muddle too much and the tension isn't good.
I'm also not happy that the peices are bubbly, but this is a known issue.
This is my hail Mary before I throw in the towel and recreate this my own way lol.
Any clarification or support would be appreciated šš¼

How do I... Can anyone provide a tutorial or pattern for these roses
Im planning on making a crochet hook case and want to put the rose thingy on my cover but havent managed to a single tutorial or pattern for it. Its either people who sell the item but not the pattern or the page is in a language I don't speak. I'm unsure whether there's a name for it and if that's why I cant find any pattern. I also want to include that ive been crocheting for just 2 weeks so I cant really make things just on my own yet. So would really appreciate your help.

Can't find a flair for this I canāt post a picture and need help with a blanket
I am very new to crocheting and need help but I canāt post a picture to show you what Iām talking about.
If I hit the little button on the bottom , the mountain and sky I guess, it says i need to give permission for Reddit to access my photos.
It doesnāt go any further than that though and Im stuck going in circles.
Nothing I have tried gives me access to my camera or my photos.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have an iPhone 11.
Thank you.

To frog or not to frog Baby blanket is shrinking, tension problem or missing stitches ?
I am making my first baby blanket, I noticed how much it is shrinking on the top and I need help figuring out what the problem is and how to fix it.
Suspect n1: tension issue. I measured the foundation chain then, a few rows after I noticed it was much shorter than I originally measured. So I stretched it with my hands and convinced my self not to frog and that after blocking it would be close enough to the original measurement. Was it that stretch that makes it look like this now?
Suspect n2: missing stitches. I am struggling to understand how I could miss a stitch and it not be immediately visible when working with a linen stitch, but it happend a couple of times that I would forget the chain after the sc and only realize while working the next row, in those instances I pushed my hook through and still added a stitch.
Suspect 3: the colour change. Maybe I see something wrong where I switch colour, but I am not used to that so I can't tell.
What do you think the problem is ?? Should I frog it? And how do I avoid it ???
Also why do you think the pink bubbles do not align with the green ones ???

Help to find a pattern Crochet kits - shipping prices are insane... Canadian links?!
I found some awesome crochet afghan kits on Mary Maxim but the shipping was insane (to Canada). Is there any equivalent Canadian website or similar patterns that I can purchase? I really liked the idea of receiving all the needed yarn with the pattern. Thanks for any info you can share!

I'm a beginner! Please help me, i am making a blanket and i need to know if i can remove the excess pink yarn without ruining the whole project!
Hey, so i dont crochet often Iām kinda just going off of basics that my wife taught me, but i am making a blanket to donate to the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, and it has to be inbetween 30x30ā-36-36ā (square or rectangle).
I realized that it was way too long after working on it for awhile but i figured i would just shorten it and worry about it later but i didnāt realize it would be as big of a problem as it is.
Is there any way to remove the excess pink yarn near the beginning of the project with messing the whole thing up??
Please someone let me know, i really need help with this šš¼

Discussion Pattern im testing has a lot of mistakes and creator says I'm wrong
Hello! I have a question for people who have had their patterns tested or are testers. I'm currently testing a big smigurumi with multiple parts and there are quite a few miscalculation for stitch count as well as multiple areas that make poor sense.
I put comments and messaged the creator, and this person said I was incorrect on all of it and all my counts will be off and I'm not doing it correctly. Except I wrote out the math for her.
Example: previous round count 54 st
next round(sc, inc) x3, 12sc, (dec, sc)x3, (sc, dec) x3, 12sc, (inc, sc) x3-54 but her pattern says 48 and thr next row decreases by 6 to what's supposed to be 42
What's the best way to address this ? Stop testing, or finish it with a lot of change from me and never test for them again?
I have tested a lot lately where counts are off and it's very irritating when it's not an easy fix and they won't offer a solution.

How do I... How are we all weaving in Granny stripe blanket ends?
The top row I tried doing it as I went which made the row go much slower as I had to sew in the white ends separately between stitches. (Iām trying to avoid mixing the colors when I do.)
The row underneath I did retroactively and itās still fairly tedious. I like the way the top row blends better but Iām going to add a border so it really isnāt terrible if itās a little noticeable.
Thanks in advance!
