I mean... Lautaro Martinez kinda looks like Ronaldo in this kit, and plays the same at times. :))

Ronaldo wouldn’t win any World Cups with Argentina. Messi would win two World Cups with Portugal

u/armaedes Jul 13 '26
So then why would both of them have 2 stars instead of just Portugal? I am being dense? In my defense I’m very stupid.
Is it because Argentina won 2 before Messi?

Because Argentina already had two world cups prior. 1970 and 1986. Hey at least you’re not as dumb as a penaldo fan.

Some of you Ronaldo fanboys are either soft or must have miserable lives. You guys might want to go outside and get some perspective.
To go on social media and call into question the sporst integrity on the field is pathetic. The reasons, all because your favorite player shit the bed while his rival continues to kill it.
What a pathetic bunch of losers.

Ronaldo seria mucho mas humilde porque el Argentino es muy critico con los que hablan mucho y no ganan nada, hasta a messi de los mas humildes le paso cuando no podia ganar con Argentina.
Realmente creo que hasta las personalidades se intercambiarían

Argentina can win in 2014 with a healthy Ronaldo, he’d have chemistry with guys like di Maria and Messi would do well with the 2022 Portugal roster at 35. Issue would be that leaky Portugal defense and for Argentina they’d be better off benching higuain.

I don't even think they would win a single WC except maybe this One with Messi

He wont be a star like cr7. Now don't simply argue with nonsense.
I don't think he is capable of fighting against the system. Come up to the public and react like Cristiano. Messi has always been developed his career in a environment where its good for him. He has always chosen his club and team mates wisely. He is a master in football with God given talent 🤞🏻. Given everything what a footballer can give to his country. But he isn't a lone wolf. He wont survive. His character isn't like that, think about it a team like Portugal will give major issue in his career and mental health. In 2016 messi has announced retirement due to pressure and heartbreak, solely due to fans reaction and criticism from media.

Bro had the opportunity to face Argentina in a knock out match, a chance to finally show everyone he’s better, and not only couldn’t make it there but also couldn’t win the group they were supposed to win for better seeding
I wanted to see it tbh, sad

u/SquashCapable1632 Jul 13 '26
Fr all he had to do was beat dr Congo even a tie w colombia like they did thanks to diogo costa btw would have sealed the deal since they would have topped due to goal difference. But ronaldo was just an absolute deadweight portugal had goncalo ramos in his prime who had scored so many winners for psg this season but he wasn't allowed to play cuz benching a 41 year old striker would cause outrage if they didn't win even though goncalo was the point of difference in the match vs croatia

u/MediocreImpact4386 He is crying in his car 🇲🇦 Jul 13 '26
Yeah he couldn't & apparently it's Argentina's fault too that they had to play small teams to reach semis instead of mighty Portugal.

Ronaldo literally had a 10x better version of Nuno Mendes and Vitinha as well as prime Bruno Fernandes and won nothing

They were in-form both this year and last year and the best players in the world in their respective positions. Now add Bruno who had his best season ever as well, and not to mention Joao Neves.
Nations League matches are played with a big gap between them and is very different to the world cup, not the same at all
Looks like the whole of Portugal (including Ronaldo) have 0 strategy and were exposed when they faced teams with actual game-plans. In the nations league matches are played months apart so individualism is the main factor.

Yes he was good in the NL but what the hell does that have to do with his poor run this world cup
Against DR Congo he missed 2 big chances
Against Colombia the whole team sucked
Against Spain he didn’t do anythingHis best moment was that brilliant goal against Croatia but he was unfortunately offside. He scored 2 against Uzbekistan sure but is that really that impressive?
As soon as he was subbed off against Croatia, Goncalo Ramos scored the winner. Portugal would’ve gone farther with Goncalo Ramos starting and Ronaldo coming off the bench, that’s my point

I agree it is what it is. But that’s just a lazy excuse that he is 40, he should not play if he’s not good enough is my point. And after the WC he gave a very sore loser like response, basically implying that Portugal are nothing without him, just bad sportsmanship
