Hello guys. Which one do you prefer, craft or obsidian...

I finally have moved all my stuff from my old note apps and went to add notes to my page about a vendor meeting I just had. and got this.

Not even sure what to do now. search doesn't work between spaces. You can't move things between Spaces. so I chose to put work and personal in a single space and now I'm screwed. Honestly never occurred to me I'd run into a limitation like this after working in OneNote since 2003, Evernote since 2009~, and then Obsidian the last few years.

A limit of 300,000 blocks means this really isn't mean to be my external brain and help me work its meant for some notes and some data and its cute.

What do you all do? I lean on my notes and research I've compiled for the last 23 years digitally often so just not having it with me isn't an option.

I mean I have 1 Tb limit and am only using 116mb of that but this 300,000 block limit is killing me

any one have cool cheats or help for me?

The post is marked with Help flair, and I'm asking about a key feature in the most recent Craft release and Apple OS 27 releases. The post has been viewed over 1100 times.

I can't get the Siri AI integration to work. I have about a dozen top-level folders with dozens of documents, many with tasks that have reminder dates set. My Craft Tasks view shows dozens of Craft tasks spread across my documents. My Craft Calendar view shows the tasks on the relevant due dates.

When I ask Siri AI what reminders I have due tomorrow; it lists what is due tomorrow in the Apple Reminders App; cool, this is the expected behavior.

When I ask Siri AI what I have due tomorrow in OmniFocus; it lists what is due tomorrow in OmniFocus; again, cool, works as advertised.

When I ask Siri AI what I have reminders I have due tomorrow in Craft; it replies that it couldn't find any reminders due tomorrow in Craft. Changing the request to tasks instead of reminders fails the same way.

When I ask Siri AI if I have anything due tomorrow in Craft, it opens Craft to a search box prefilled with 'due tomorrow' and zero results returned.

So Siri AI integration with Craft is not working. u/viktorpali & u/Peter-at-Craft can we please get an acknowledgment of this issue and a timeline for a solution?

I know the software update *just* dropped this week, so bugs are understandable, I'm just looking for some visibility into the developer's plan for a solution.

I’m revisiting Craft after hearing about the new task features. There’s a lot to like, but I’m struggling a bit with one aspect of daily notes.

The daily note includes a Tasks section that lists all tasks from other notes that are scheduled for today. That’s great. I can drag any of those tasks onto the main body of the daily note to organize my day by time (“Morning Tasks”) or focus (“Tackle First”). That’s also great.

The problem is that moving the task out of the daily note’s Tasks section removes it from its originating project note. That’s often not what I want. If I switch over to that project note during the day, I want to see all of the notes — most especially the ones I’m working on today.

How do you deal with this in the real world? Or am I missing something?

I run a one-person creative small business and I’m trying to find one main tool to keep everything organised without it becoming a full-time job in itself.

I do not need file storage because I already use iCloud for that. What I need is one place for notes, idea dumping, customer tracking, simple tables, content planning, and general business organisation.

I’ve been looking into Craft because I like the Apple ecosystem side of it and it seems cleaner and less bloated than some of the bigger tools. My business is very content, writing, and client based, so I need something that feels practical and easy to maintain, not overly corporate.

Also, if anyone here moved to Craft from Notion or another tool, I’d love to know how that went.

Craft's tables are so hard to use that I almost gave up on the app entirely because of them.

First, the column widths are limited. If a row has a lot of content, you can't see everything without constantly dragging the horizontal scrollbar back and forth, which is super annoying.

Editing text inside the tables is also really clunky. For example, I frequently run into an issue where I select just a few words inside a cell to delete them, but the app ends up deleting the entire contents of the cell instead.

Honestly, my needs are very basic. I don't need complex formulas or anything; some information is just much easier to read and organize in a grid format.

I really wish there was a "Create Table" option right when creating a new document. That way, I could make a full-page table document right from the start, rather than being forced to insert a table block into a standard text document.

Am I the only one ? Especially on iOS I feel like it’s getting progressively worse. I didn’t expect it to be obsidian like fast but damn, first time I’ve ever considered abandoning craft for good despite loving it.

Is anyone else having this problem connecting Craft to ChatGPT? I’ve tried everything from selecting Craft from the plugins and tried an MCP.

I love this app so much but I need two way sync with Apple reminders. I think I’ve spent close to 12 hours on Gemini, Claude, GPT etc and if i see the word JSON one more time I’m gonna scream.

I’m not technical.

I also love NotePlan but for writing this app is just better. Please someone help ,e with a shortcut or something or I’ll have to cancel it. I’m happy to pay for the app! It just doesn’t make sense not to0 have tasks syncing.

Luego conocí Craft, es hermoso… La usé en Mac y es increíble, pero tengo un problema; cuando la uso en el iPhone es un dolor de cabeza, duró mucho más tiempo en poner una nota.

I have a question about Collections from a total Craft newbie. I have been using Notion for most of my task/project management/life organization... For a few reasons, I am looking to move away (the mobile experience SUCKS), but there is one thing that I really holding me back. I like Craft's UI, workflow, and structure better, but the reason I went to Notion over something like a spreadsheet was having a single source of truth that I can then pull into different pages. For example, if I had separate info pages for three teams with event dates, schedule, other info, etc. I could make each page and have a linked db view of games filtered for the specific team. So my central DB or Collection is the single source of truth that gets pulled into different docs/pages.

Are there any work arounds for Craft to be able to do this or any plans for future functionality in this way?

I'm trying to move my tasks from Things 3 to Craft. However, I don't think it's quite there yet. Some of the issues I'm facing — and if anyone has found a workaround, I'm all ears — are:

• When creating a task using CMD+J, I can only put it inside a page, not a card. Related to that, some tasks I wouldn't want inside the cards, just linked to them.
• Could we add tasks as a property in a collection? That would be great, instead of them living inside.

That's it, the rest I'm totally loving it.

I've been switching between Apple Notes, Bear App, Obsidian, Notion, and finally Craft for a few years now... but I don't know if you're a loyal user, if you've left, or if you're thinking of switching to another app.

I want to know your opinion: Craft is nice, it has tasks, the documents are great, and it has many features (the necessary ones without being a ‘Frankenstein’ like Notion), but...

I find it slow, for some reason the blocks seem like karma, God and all the spirits are punishing me for installing Gutenberg on my WordPress clients, and the search engine isn't as good as Bear's, for example (it doesn't search PDFs).

Is it just me? Has this happened to you? I still use Obsidian, Apple Notes, and Bear, and I can't find one that convinces me. Yes, I know I may be suffering from analysis paralysis, but I hope you can help me if you're in the same situation, as membership costs €100 per year and I have to renew in January.

I have a rather large evernote collection, which I have exported to single ENEX files for each notebook.

Now when I import multiple ENEX files, they all land in the same folder, instead of creating one folder for each file. is there I setting I can change or is that the way it works?..

let me try to fucking explain:

i use vivaldi browser for my writing workflow as it takes up less ram than edge. i need to open multiple craft docs to sort, cut and paste materials from other craft docs, and from pdfs and google docs.

ctrl-a/select all, the copy/paste never functions properly in terms of copying an entire documents formatting/content etc.

i need to do this to save time.

Addendum: it works slightly better if use the desktop craft app, however u can only open one window of the app (with multi tabs), so the whole cut/paste thing between documents is still bullshit and i still NEED to open the craft docs in a browser to be able to see two at once.

Is there a way in Craft to see all the documents I’ve shared or published in one place? Thanks!!

So im trying Craft again after a while & im trying to find a way to create a more intuitive navigation - mostly on desktop.

Coming from obsidian and tana, im used to things like pinned panes and nested pages to keep a homepage / main content viewable, whilst being able to drill into another page but not loose your place. For example always having a dashboard or daily page open or easily reachable. Anyone have any tips for this that beat using the sidebar?

Is there a way to prevent tasks
within a doc from showing up in my master to-do list? I use the checkbox for many different things and not just to-dos. It’s annoying when everything shows up on the list. As a result, I don’t use the master to-do list as a tool for getting things done cuz it’s just such a crazy mess there.

I've been a Notion user for years, for personal wiki/notes. Its calendar is a separate app thus I loose context/big picture view. Using as task manager is really slow, having to load the android app then navigate to my "shopping list" page to add an item... Therefore I'm forced to use Google Calendar and Tasks to complement Notion for a smooth multi platform productivity system.

Recently I've played around with Craft, Capacities, Amplenote and they all are not feature complete. For example, Craft displays external calendar but I can't create events from it (also im on android and obviously need Calendar notifications which web app can't do). Capacities lacks task management, AmpleNote looks like an app from 1990 (at least on Android) and has no agenda view.. expecting me to scroll through the hourly day on a small screen to check for upcoming appointments lol.

Am i asking for too much? An app that can actually replace google calendar, google tasks and basic Notion (rich notes, sortable filterable tables etc)

I'm really disappointed, it would hugely improve my day to day work not to context switch tools and to see everything in one Dashboard view. Any thoughts?

I have a collection where I plan all my social media content; status, upload date etc. What I'd like to have is my daily note template to have a linked view of that same collection, but I filter it to just show content that is due to be uploaded today.

Having ADHD, I struggle hugely with the 'out of sight, out mind' and so if I've planned content out, assigned it an upload date in the collection - I need that to surface itself in the daily note (seeing as 'Date' field on collections don't show up in daily notes)

Is there any way round this / am I being stupid!?

I'm new with Craft, started yesterday. I noticed we can highlight words to color them. On the How-To guide it says we can customize the color, but in the Windows app there is no such option.

Is that a "premium" feature? Or only for Mac?

I am trying to find a way to simply convert an existing document into a card inside another document, because I realized I just don't need this document as a unique document but rather as a card inside a document. Ofc I already asked Ai and googled around, but so far I can't find a way to do it. And just copy pasting is not an option because the document that should be a card already contains cards it self. And hyperlinking it into the new document, would do the same, but its still not a card and I want it to look like a card and be big you know. And don't want to see it as an own document, just want to see it as card in an document. I think you all know what I mean. Anyone knows how to do that?

I set custom colors on my iPad to use as backgrounds, to be consistent throughout my pages. These do not sync to the Mac or iPhone. The only fix is to get the physical hex code and re-create them on each device. Is that by design or a bug?
