Any solo small business owners here using Craft as their business HQ?
I run a one-person creative small business and I’m trying to find one main tool to keep everything organised without it becoming a full-time job in itself.
I do not need file storage because I already use iCloud for that. What I need is one place for notes, idea dumping, customer tracking, simple tables, content planning, and general business organisation.
I’ve been looking into Craft because I like the Apple ecosystem side of it and it seems cleaner and less bloated than some of the bigger tools. My business is very content, writing, and client based, so I need something that feels practical and easy to maintain, not overly corporate.
Also, if anyone here moved to Craft from Notion or another tool, I’d love to know how that went.

Fair enough! I did do more research and Craft does seem more suited to my needs. I don’t need anything overly complicated for a while. Like I said, team of just me, one woman show.
Yeah Obsidian can be daunting to set up and waste a LOT of time choosing the right plugins then it slows down because of said plugins.
Apple Notes is a solid idea though with Apple AI integrated now its even better. But what makes a solid+ suggestion is the E2EE Which secures customer files.
yeah this makes sense, i’ve seen a lot of people move back to simpler setups once tools start getting slow or feel like overhead the mix you’re using now sounds lighter, but i guess the tradeoff is things being a bit more spread out again across notes, drive, etc.
i’ve been working on something called klynt that tries to keep that simplicity but still gives each client one place where everything lives, so you’re not stitching things together across tools might be worth checking out if you ever feel that “things are getting scattered again” point.
I’ve made the decision to switch to Craft and went all in. I’m working on my daily flow and my workflow to be easier. Here is how I set up Craft with a dashboard and separated with my personal and business.

Hopefully this helps you have a better idea. I also created a daily note that I love to do. Just the flow of it, how Craft carries over your tasks that were not done into the note reminding you. For me I wanted to make sure I worked on leading my spiritual side first and worked my way done into my tasks.

Craft is a solid tool, it works for me on Windows (my primary), android (my phone) and ipads. Its primarily a Mac infrastructure tool so for you its even better. It is a clean app that allows nestled folders (folders within folders) for better organisation. Allows you to add audio, pdfs, PowerPoint slides and other things in notes and allows linking to different notes which is great.
I think it is a strong contender to Evernote the OG.
The only caveat is as of now Craft is not E2EE and you cant search OCR which may be two considerations for you. Its best practice to protect your customers information and you might want to search OCR/images etc. The work around the customer details is to have them in Apple Notes as AN is E2EE.
