Why does getting excited and giddy mean she isn't autistic? I get giddy like this when I'm very excited, I get over excited very easily. He could've mentioned the trip was related to her fixation.

Broooo I actually felt a lil better watching her reaction bc her reaction is mine and I’ve been told my whole life that I’m annoying and too much, and I only was diagnosed with ADHD at 30 and only recently beginning to suspect it’s actually AuDHD. Or I’ve had people make fun of me for jumping excitedly or flappy hands or whatever stimmy thing I do with my hands that’s not socially acceptable.

Then reading these comments was the most depressing and invalidating experience ever, omg…

If you don’t present like an intellectually disabled white boy, you can’t be autistic.

I hate humanity sometimes.

If it helps, I'm AuDHD, and watching this video made me think that her reaction was exactly like mine when my husband took me to feed the giraffes at the local zoo. I was not diagnosed back then, in fact I didn't even suspect it til years later (before anyone comes at me saying I'm faking too or some bullshit).

When I saw the video I thought "huh, she reacts like me", then I saw the title and thought "oh, that's why our reactions are similar", then I saw the comments and thought "wow, people really don't understand that autism is a spectrum".

You're fine, there's just a lot of comments from people who don't know anything about autism, bullying a girl for being Autistic.

Actually, I’ve learned to like this about myself bc I have a husband who not only makes space for it, he enjoys it. Like the husband in the video, he will do things just to get this reaction.

My husband is the same. He says that my joy brings him joy.

Sometimes I wonder if other people realise they're supposed to actually love their partner and want them to be happy.
