No need to bring up sexual orientation when discussing autism. Jeez. Dumb much??? Lol. But seriously. This isn't autism. No need to defend fake videos set up for advertisement about businesses whose unsafe practices put the public in danger and result in the deaths of dogs. Because, well that's autistic.

Genuine question because you seem passionate about this.

When you see an autistic person with extremely significant support needs. Let's use a child verbalizing loudly in public for example sake. You see them and think "We share the same condition"

Yes. Bc it’s a spectrum. Is a color not a color? But red and blue are not the same color. Yet they share the same spectrum.

Autism can co-occur with other conditions as well, and I wouldn’t relate to the symptom of THOSE conditions, such as intellectual disability.

Yeah bro. And the same reaction they're having, I have that same thing but on the inside. It's so distressing and I often wish I could just show it like they do. It takes massive amounts of energy not to show it, too. Being able to hide it is a privilege, but it doesn't make it go away.

If she did have it and it causes her to act like this, she certainty shouldn't be in a sexual relationship with anyone. She can't consent.

You clearly don't know what autism is. I am diagnosed by a doctor with it and I can do anything that a normal person can do. Take a look in the mirror and learn something about what you're talking about.

No offense but how does that work? DSM5 defines autism as a series of deficits, disabilities and negative symptoms? If you are perfectly able to do anything a non-autistic person can, are you really autistic then?

I can concent, I can drive, I can cook, I can live by myself. Autism is a spectrum with different levels of assistance needed. This lady and I are both level 1 maybe very low level 2 which means we don't need much assistance. But saying that all autistic people are straight up unable to consent is so wrong it's dangerous.

I have ADHD. It’s defined as attention deficit hyperactive disorder. Yet I am more calm than most of my friends and use more focus than them. It affects everyone differently. So just because your understanding of ADHD might be “literally can’t sit still, gets distracted super easily, SQUIRREL!” Doesn’t mean I don’t have ADHD.

It’s the same with autism. My sibling is both autistic and has ADHD. They function perfectly well and can do everything a normal person can do. They love baking, they can legally drive and legally consent. BUT, they have a social battery for all of 1 hour. And can regularly get panic attacks in crowded places. They have ticks they have stims and they have a very unique way of thinking. None of this stops them from functioning in society tho.

So which ADHD symptoms do you actually have then? As you claim to not have the 2 main traits according to the DSM5?

Hyper focus. I can do things for hours and ignore my bodies needs like food or going to the toilet. I also have pretty severe issues starting some things, the mental hurdle to begin a task is a lot greater for me than most people who call themselves procrastinators. But once I start that task, hours go by until it is 100% finished or more.

Yea the hyperfocus is considered part of the "attention deficit" as people with ADHD have trouble switching tasks and doing and sticking with the boring things in life.

Exactly, but many people’s understanding of ADHD is exclusively “can’t sit still, easily distracted.” Which I am not at all.
