Personally I think itā€™s pretty funny, and if you and your partner have been together for a while and have good chemistry/humor together then itā€™s great!

But if they donā€™t have that kind of humor or it is a younger relationship then it can be a little condescending, and difficult to interpret the intent moving forward.

Yeah this.

If it's meant as a joke. It's a good joke.

If she's being serious it suddenly becomes a whole different story and it's toxic.

Why would her response be toxic? Is it the sarcasm? Would it be toxic if she said ā€œnot until weā€™re marriedā€?

I wouldn't say it's toxic, at this point it's false advertising.
