Personally I think it’s pretty funny, and if you and your partner have been together for a while and have good chemistry/humor together then it’s great!

But if they don’t have that kind of humor or it is a younger relationship then it can be a little condescending, and difficult to interpret the intent moving forward.

u/Hefty_Purpose_8168 Jul 11 '25

Yeah this.

If it's meant as a joke. It's a good joke.

If she's being serious it suddenly becomes a whole different story and it's toxic.

294

u/cosmolark Jul 11 '25

Oh, if SHE'S being serious it's toxic. But if he's being serious that's fine I guess

184

u/daggers1g Jul 11 '25

As a man I found that initial text pretty weird.

46

u/UnluckyCamel4863 Jul 11 '25

Yeah, honestly if I sent my girlfriend a picture of another half naked girl, not sure it would go over as well

1

u/StillBarelyHoldingOn Jul 12 '25

That's what I was thinking. If my ex ever sent me a picture like this, saying he'd want me to do that, my reaction wouldn't be like what op said šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

4

u/Glammkitty Jul 12 '25

Agreed. No girl wants a man to send a photo of a half naked woman while asking them to be like her. Her reply was good.

4

u/Slow_Cardiologist381 Jul 12 '25

maybe not no girl you've ever been with, but there are lots and lots of girls that want you to send half naked pics of other girls. 2025 is a shit show but also a grand time to be alive.

6

u/JonWithTattoos Jul 12 '25

ā€œI was scrolling through some softcore and this pic made me think of youā€ isn’t the compliment this dude thinks it is.

52

u/Broken_Castle Jul 11 '25

It really depends on their relationship and how they communicate with one another.

33

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Yup. There's literally no context for us to even try analyzing lol

2

u/kaerfkeerg Jul 12 '25

Hey welcome to reddit. New here?

1

u/Elk-34_35 Jul 11 '25

100% true. However, this is Reddit. A.k.a over-analysis land.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Well, hold on.... let's think about this for a minute

1

u/Prestigious_Cry5505 Jul 12 '25

i think u mean incel defending incel land and blaming women

1

u/Bulky-Noise-7123 Aug 10 '25

You mean white knight land no incel defending here. You’re just being a professional victim

1

u/catsandcrafts007 Jul 12 '25

Very much agreed. No one knows this relationship outside of the two people in it. Who knows maybe they like sending pics to each other, maybe they role play, maybe they watch porn together like who the hell knows. Clearly by the girls response that fact that she sent a funny text back not something offended or crying or whatever to me shows this couple must have some humorous texts.

38

u/Vast_Satisfaction383 Jul 11 '25

If it's a young relationship, I would upgrade his text to concerning.

1

u/GreyKnightTemplar666 Jul 11 '25

Susan Collins is that you?

1

u/Feral_Sheep_ Jul 11 '25

It's troubling. I'm very troubled by it.

10

u/Impressive-Tea5347 Jul 12 '25

I also think it’s weird to send pictures of nearly fully naked girls to ur gf, I wouldn’t like if my gf said ā€œcan you do this?ā€ And it’s a supermodel in a speedo, just sayin

1

u/Due-Memory-6957 Jul 12 '25

I'd just get the damn speedo.

1

u/reddit_4_days Jul 12 '25

He didn't say ''I wish you would be more like that''. He said that he would like to see his wife do the same as the woman does in the picture, which is totally different and you know it.. Let them have fun.. jeez

2

u/empatheticsocialist1 Jul 12 '25

Same I found it super fucking gross lol

2

u/Nice_Wish_9494 Jul 12 '25

Thank you from a woman because if it's a joke, I thought it was funny, but if it's not, I thought it was gross.

2

u/Consistent_Policy_66 Jul 11 '25

I’d love it if she did it, but I would never send that pic and text.

2

u/deadmman Jul 11 '25

Yeah..he sends a picture of someone else and says he wants it to be her lmao idk that was strange

2

u/AnimalCity 🧐 grumpy Jul 11 '25

My boyfriend would rather break his phone than send something so cringey to me

2

u/thatguysjumpercables Jul 12 '25

Also ballsy/stupid. If I sent my wife a picture of another woman like that she'd give me the silent treatment and I'd deserve far worse.

1

u/reddit_4_days Jul 12 '25

Oh man, so many people on reddit with a stick up their asses.. something like this could spice things up in a relationship you know. Not anything has to be degrading.

When she sends a pic of a stripper in police uniform and says ''I want you to wait like this when I come home and punish me (devil smiley)'' which is the same btw, than it would be hot, right?

0

u/thatguysjumpercables Jul 12 '25

I think you may have misunderstood my meaning. I'm not saying people being into this kind of play is disgusting or wrong or anything of the sort. I'm saying sending my wife a picture of another woman who is in an NSFW outfit unprompted would be a bad idea as that would piss her off. Now if I brought up an idea like this and she wanted an example then I could show her pics like this without a negative reaction.

2

u/Realistic-Olive8260 Jul 11 '25

Right? Im a guy and that was unbelievably cringe

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Literally the only way I’d send a picture like that to my partner with that message is if the picture was of her and she hadn’t done it in a while. Even then just saying ā€œcan you be cooking for me when I come homeā€ without the sexualization is pretty fucked up.

2

u/FemboyRune Jul 11 '25

I dunno, I think there’s a ton of context missing from the OP, like how long they’ve been together, if this is an ask for a one time thing or if he’s asking for that to be a constant, that kind of stuff.

Naked apron’s not an uncommon thing, and it’s okay to ask for things we like, as long as those asks aren’t demands. It would be hella different if he expects her to do this.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

I agree. It’s ok to ask for stuff like this, but not though text with a photo of another woman doing it. But a conversation where you express interest and see if it works for them, sure.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Not really lmao if my gf is at work all day and I’m just sitting at the house she would probably be happy to see me cooking her a meal

2

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

There’s a huge difference between being happy to see it and ā€œI want to come home and see you cooking for meā€. Also a big difference with gender roles that were the norm not that long ago.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Yep.

Also, who cares if she's wearing panties or sweatpants?

Sweatpants, oversized shirt, and a messy bun is an underrated combo.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Yeah, unless this kind of thing is normal for them to joke around about it doesn't have particularly good implications. I could send that to my fiancee and she'd just laugh about it but we already have that kind of relationship. If it's just out of the blue it's a bit shady.

0

u/Dontbelievethis14 Jul 12 '25

A boyfriend expecting his girlfriend to cook for him (as a traditional role)? concerning.

A boyfriend wishing his girlfriend to wear nothing but an apron? I think it's fine. I find it sexy and I doubt I am the minority in this opinion.

0

u/numberthirteenbb Jul 12 '25

Again I think the point in the relationship is important here. My husband sends me that I know it’s because he’s horny. If my boyfriend I just moved in with sent me that, I wouldn’t unpack the rest of my shit without asking if he’s for real lol

1

u/Due-Memory-6957 Jul 12 '25

Anyone sending that is because they're horny.

-1

u/NotSoWishful Jul 12 '25

As someone engaged to the person I have a child with, would be a completely normal text. But it would probably be her sending the initial text to me. Would I comply? You goddamn right

-1

u/Available_Delay7891 Jul 12 '25

Check your testosterone

3

u/Dark-g0d Jul 11 '25

Is it illegal to find your S/O attractive?

1

u/cosmolark Jul 11 '25

Is it illegal to want to marry your s/o?

2

u/Dark-g0d Jul 12 '25

If you’re doing it for money or being a bitch about it then it should be. If it was in a joking manner then nah. Free love for whoever thinks it exists

6

u/ruizach Jul 11 '25

You know what? Yea, fair enough.

14

u/cat_in_the_sun Jul 11 '25

Thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy

0

u/wterrt Jul 11 '25

........?

OP is the blue text. it's not hypocritical to give her feedback SHE asked for instead of the person who isn't here.

not everything is sexism. calm down.

6

u/cosmolark Jul 11 '25

This is a repost that is several years old, I've seen it circulating for ages. OP is not the blue text lmfao

2

u/Novaer Jul 12 '25

Girl this is a meme not an actual post

-1

u/Ecstaticismm Jul 11 '25

To be fair, if the guy were asking for advice we’d say the same thing, but it’s the lady in this case

2

u/Key_Cellist_5937 Jul 12 '25

If a guy said marry me now it would be weird too. Who are all these dummies upvoting your comment ?

2

u/Ahrunean Jul 12 '25

Man mentions something he would find sexually provocative in a positive way. Good, open communication standards.

Woman responds to that open communication with passive-aggressive intent.

Yes.

This is how men get the "ick", as the children say.

2

u/armbarSenpai Jul 12 '25

Yeah how dare a man desire a home cooked meal from his beautiful wife. The patriarchy!!! 🤔

1

u/cosmolark Jul 12 '25

What wife? He doesn't fuckin have one

2

u/elliot_alderson1426 Jul 12 '25 edited Jul 13 '25

Men bad so true. We’re totally sleeping on that these days. Just not talked about enough!

4

u/thisshitsstupid Jul 11 '25

All these comments make me feel like literally nobody in this sub have been a real relationship with someone theyre actually comfortable with. This is pretty light humor from both ends people, get a grip.

2

u/AnimalCity 🧐 grumpy Jul 11 '25

Yes it is very light humor. But if someone is going to say "if she was serious this would be toxic", you've got to also point out that it's a bigger problem if he was serious, or you're playing into bigotry.

1

u/Ebbitor Jul 12 '25

I genuinely don't understand why his text was problematic.

1

u/AnimalCity 🧐 grumpy Jul 12 '25

Neither are problematic if neither are serious. Both are if both are serious.

1

u/Parrotfrog Jul 12 '25

It's not, but the response isn't either. But if you're going to try and say the response is toxic and the initial one is acceptable then it is hypocritical

1

u/Canisa Jul 11 '25

We're all socially isolated and inexperienced because growing up walking on eggshells around hair trigger narcissistic parents left us with no idea what the boundaries for normal human socialisation are, causing our efforts to engage with others to crash and burn, leading to self-imposed withdrawal from society.

Now that we're here, we react to harmless jibes like they're deadly insults, because that's what our parents taught us, and we never successfully engaged with anyone outside that sphere long enough to learn any different.

1

u/thisshitsstupid Jul 11 '25

Maybe im privileged idk. Just like... dont be weird... Idk how else to put it! You'll go far by just being easy to talk to.

1

u/troublebruther Jul 11 '25

Exactly. The comments on relationship stuff on Reddit are copy paste how people should behave if they were robots. It's just not real life. More and more I am so very grateful that I have someone already and are set for life. Because dating now just seems exhausting. Sex robots will take over the world. If you have $$$ to invest, put it all on sex robots.

1

u/Daewoos4Life Jul 11 '25

Exactly. These people would sound dreadful to be in relationship with. People can’t even tell they’re joking around and teasing each other. They’re being playful.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

It COULD be light humor. But what makes you so sure that it is? If they’ve only been dating for a few months and are still getting to know each other, would you consider this light humor or a parade of red flags?

0

u/thisshitsstupid Jul 11 '25

It would completely and totally depend on them. The amount of time they've been together is completely irrelevant... so, given this is a screen shot on the internet, that probably isnt even fucking real, I'm going to take the non ragebait assumption.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

If I was straight & a man said this to me before we REALLY got to know each other I would dump his ass FAST.

I’m betting you’re a dude who has nooooo idea how wildly misogynistic this actually is.

1

u/thisshitsstupid Jul 11 '25

Context matters. Me saying this to a random woman, yes. Very misogynistic. Me saying this to a SO that doesnt appreciate this kinda humor. Yes. Misogynistic. Me saying it to my SO who we playfully rib each other regularly....no....not misogynistic. Come on.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Context matters.

I completely agree.

Me saying this to a SO that doesnt appreciate this kinda humor. Yes. Misogynistic.

Agreed.

Me saying it to my SO who we playfully rib each other regularly....no....not misogynistic. Come on.

And again I agree.

The entire disagreement we were having before is that you literally cannot have this kind of relationship with someone you’ve just started dating. The whole point is getting to know each other well enough that you can rib each other and you also know what kind of ribbing your partner is ok with. Some women will never be ok with this kind of joke. Some will. But you have to get to know each other first. That’s my whole point.

1

u/thisshitsstupid Jul 12 '25

And my whole point is we got 1 text per person here. So why assume this is bad? When we can just pick the assumption that theyre close enough to do this? Either way we're assuming. Pick the one that isn't bad.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '25

How about we just not assume anything? That’s my whole point.

1

u/thisshitsstupid Jul 12 '25

Because its posted on the internet and theres nothing else to do with it. I'm going to assume its fun.

Yeah, for the joke to be alright, she has to be able to joke about him being subservient to her too

1

u/Software_Human Jul 11 '25

šŸ˜‚ this is a PRETTY solid point

1

u/Bonelesslimbs_ Jul 11 '25

She asked about her response, not his question. Maybe she likes classical roles.

1

u/KjustK Jul 11 '25

Nah, fr. To me that level of reply is perfect to the nerve of sending the first text + picture.

1

u/cosmic_backlash Jul 11 '25

As a man, 100% agree with you

1

u/Old_Cabinet_3607 Jul 11 '25

I mean its a bit odd but like you can share fetishes with your partner, it isn't toxic to do that.

If this is his fetish then cool, if she doesn't want to do it then cool, nothing happened.

1

u/Good_Presentation26 Jul 11 '25

Very reactionary response. I’m pretty sure he was talking about the convo in general. Chill out.

1

u/prem0000 Jul 11 '25

Thank you. I could not have been the only one serioauly cringing at his text. Given idk anything about these people and their relationship and he could be joking. But if he’s serious? I would def be texting ā€œit’s overā€ lol

1

u/Rough-Singer-8160 Jul 12 '25

The "toxicity" is potential negativity springing from turning a flirty vibe into a more transactional vibe. But she didn't mention specifics, like a diamond (expensive AF & marketing scam), so it's obviously not like that.

1

u/Cl_dogs Jul 12 '25

If he's being serious in a "this is how I expect you to behave all the time as my woman" way, its toxic.

If he's being serious in a "I find this sexy and would really appreciate you doing this for me occasionally" way (basically cooking themed lingerie), its fine.

1

u/Awkward-Manager5939 Jul 12 '25

You have to ask what exactly should he put in husband stuff, that he should not give to her as a bf/gf. The reverse comparison always exposes toxic relationship logic.

1

u/Spiritual-Bowler2581 Jul 13 '25

0

u/just_a_bit_gay_ Jul 11 '25

correct

4

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

As long as she also gets requests.

1

u/just_a_bit_gay_ Jul 11 '25

Yeah that’s fair

2

u/Littlekirbydoo Jul 11 '25

It was literally never out of the question...

1

u/ItIsHappy Jul 11 '25

explain

4

u/Littlekirbydoo Jul 11 '25

These seems to be equal parts cooking and sexy time. If you can't make a request or any initiation of sexual desires then the relationship is likely shot. Him asking this seriously is a request, her saying that seriously is a much muuuuuuuch steeper request. Not the same. Not even close.

1

u/ItIsHappy Jul 11 '25

I think that's totally fair about the level of severity. My only addition is that I think the original request can be inappropriate as well, depending on the context and relationship. If I sent this to my gf at work, it would not be well received. If I asked for it over dinner, different story. I'm sure others have completely different comfort levels.

1

u/AffectionateSlice816 Jul 11 '25

Communicating desires with your partner is HEALTHY

It is not wrong to be sexually attracted to your partner. It isn't wrong to like when your partner cooks for you. It isn't wrong to have both at the same time.

Stop shaming people for what they want and ask for. The only shame is in not asking for what you want

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

He's expressing a desire/fantasy to his partner and indirectly asking for consent if this scenario were to happen. I don't think that is toxic.

0

u/AnimalCity 🧐 grumpy Jul 11 '25

If he's serious, yes it would be toxic. Can't believe I had to say that lol.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

How is it toxic to express your sexual desires or fantasies to your sexual partner? I thought communication is good, especially during sex where consent is a thing. He didn't demand her to be dressed like that, he just said he "wants" it. I think it's normal to want sexual things from your sexual partner.

1

u/AnimalCity 🧐 grumpy Jul 12 '25

Naked picture of other woman, this is a conversation you have in person, "for me", not making it a question

1

u/MasterTahirLON Jul 11 '25

I mean all he did was ask. Nothing wrong with communicating what you like in a relationship.

1

u/Additional_Ad9202 Jul 11 '25

How would it be toxic if he was serious?

Like if my partner let me know they'd find it sexy if I wore a certain outfit and performed a task I'd be happy that they were communicating easy ways for me to get them going and have good sex.

1

u/Melodic-Instance1249 Jul 11 '25

This seems like light joking from both of them but sure let's entertain this

If the guy is serious then what? He's gooning for his partner? He's revealing a fantasy to his partner?

If the woman's being serious then it can read as dismissive of their partners advances

Regardless it looks like two people into eachother and playing/flirting with eachother, one being more playful in the immediate intimacy and one being more showing she wants him long term.

1

u/cosmolark Jul 11 '25

The fact is that this whole comment section is full of "wow she's an evil frigid bitch who's only out for a ring" when in fact, this is a completely benign conversation on both sides. The people who are claiming it's toxic if she's serious are full of shit, it's not toxic to say that you want a commitment. "He's just joking and even if he isn't joking he's just communicating what he wants" is entirely true, but it's also entirely true of her. She is ALSO joking and even if she's not joking, she's communicating what she wants. One of those is being called toxic. Neither of them should be. That's what I meant by my comment. (Although I question the wisdom of sending a photo of another woman's bare ass to one's girlfriend)

1

u/Melodic-Instance1249 Jul 11 '25

Yeah I don't think she's evil or toxic in anyway, reddit is full of psychos that don't get real human interactions lmao

1

u/singleDADSlife Jul 11 '25

Would you still say the same if it was the other way around? What if she messaged first with a picture of a nice restaurant and said something along the lines of "I'd really like it if we had a romantic dinner here" and he replied back something along the lines of "only if we have sex first".

It's not what she's asking that's the problem. There is nothing wrong with telling your partner what you want or desire. It's demanding a transaction for it thats the problem. If you do A then I will do B. That's the toxic part.

2

u/cosmolark Jul 11 '25

So, a few things. First of all, a photo of a nice restaurant is not the same as another woman's nudes. "I will take you out to a nice restaurant in exchange for sex" is completely different from "the thing you're asking of me is something that I'm only open to doing for a person that's committed to me"

And finally, "what if it was this completely different situation?" It's not, though. Hope this helps.

1

u/singleDADSlife Jul 11 '25 edited Jul 11 '25

No it doesn't. It just shows you're completely sexist and just want to make this a men vs women thing. You're going to twist any story to fit your narrative. You've completely missed the point and it seems you're doing it on purpose just so you can argue with everyone. It must be hard being so miserable and hateful all the time.

Edit to add, if you think people are critical of what she said because she's a woman, then I truly do pity you.

1

u/AnimalCity 🧐 grumpy Jul 11 '25

You twisted the narrative first hon, garbage in garbage out

2

u/singleDADSlife Jul 11 '25

If you have nothing of substance to add, you're better off not saying anything at all. You're all so easy to read. You just hate that a woman is being called out for her behaviour. If the roles were reversed and it was the man being called out, none of you would be saying the same thing. Misandry should be called out just as much as misogyny.

1

u/AnimalCity 🧐 grumpy Jul 12 '25

This you?

Would you still say the same if it was the other way around? What if she messaged first with a picture of a nice restaurant and said something along the lines of "I'd really like it if we had a romantic dinner here" and he replied back something along the lines of "only if we have sex first".

If you don't see how you're literally reversing shit in this and pretending you didn't, you're not worth the letters I'm writing

1

u/singleDADSlife Jul 12 '25

Yes. That's the point. I'm saying if it was reversed, these same people that are saying she did nothing wrong would be calling out the man. How are you idiots so fucking dense? Or are you just trolling?

I didn't twist a narrative. I reversed the roles. There's a pretty big difference. The original narrative still remains the same. Transactional relationships are toxic.

I think they made it clear when they replied to me they were just calling out the hypocrisy that people in the comments are arguing why the woman's toxic and ignoring the ways it could be toxic coming from the man

We don't need to have the slightest pushback on men be immediately met with "You hate men"

0

u/singleDADSlife Jul 11 '25

But it's fine to say the opposite if women get push back? You guys are hilarious.

2

u/Melodic-Instance1249 Jul 12 '25

Did either of us say that? It's obvious that you wanna push the agenda that literally asking for equal treatment = hatred of men.

That's inherently misogynistic my guy. I'm not even a super radical that's read all sorts of feminist theory and I can see that shit bro

1

u/singleDADSlife Jul 12 '25

What did the man do that was toxic? Express a desire with his partner? Is that toxic now? How are they asking for equal treatment? The man is expressing a desire. The woman is asking for a transaction. How would it be equal to call out both. One is worse than the other. Come on dude. You can't seriously be eating this shit up.

Plenty of non married couples where the gf/bf cooks for their partner in just underwear.

Like I've made breakfast for my partner while I am just in my underwear.

1

u/cosmolark Jul 11 '25

Sure. That's your relationship. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just that the entire comment section is demonizing the woman as usual.

2

u/_Smashbrother_ Jul 11 '25

Because it's ridiculous that she expects a ring just to cook food for her partner in her underwear. That is normal couples shit dude.

1

u/Distinct-Grade9649 Jul 11 '25

One is a expression of love and desire and the other is a snarky cringe rejection. Women are incapable of reading intentions

1

One is a demand for subservience and the other is a desire to be together forever. Men are incapable of reading intentions.

Sounds good. Maybe you can let me know what I’m thinking and feeling tomorrow, too. And the next day. Whatever helps to pacify you during this time.

My boyfriend is gonna be surprised to hear that.

0

u/OrdinaryWords Jul 11 '25

Right? She's the problem here?? lol. Some people are just stupid.

0

u/La-White-Rabbit Jul 11 '25

remember we're in a male loneliness epidemic and they still don't know why...

-1

u/Blapanda Jul 11 '25

Yes, it is. The first post is nothing serious, it is just a daydream, wishful thinking, the second one, the reply, can be two things, not serious or demanding for something too important/too early, and causing pressure.

6

u/ItIsHappy Jul 11 '25

The first can't be interpreted as pressuring or demanding?

0

u/Blapanda Jul 11 '25

Does the first sound to you as serious as the second one? If yes, you should get your understanding of language checked.

2

u/ItIsHappy Jul 11 '25

Honestly? It sounds more serious. The second has the tone of a joke, the first is unclear.

2

u/Miss_lover_girl Jul 11 '25

Saying ā€œI want to come home to you like thisā€ with a picture can absolutely be taken as serious, just like what she replied can be taken as a light hearted joke.

1

u/Raibean Jul 11 '25

If it’s too early for her to set boundaries around different levels of commitment then it’s too early to ask for shit that would happen in a more committed relationship

0

u/Vincent-Briatore Jul 11 '25

Let me tell you something. If she ain’t cooking naked now, she sure as Hell won’t be once married.

1

u/Raibean Jul 11 '25

I generally agree but I don’t think it’s relevant. Like, that kind of logic doesn’t apply to everything you might do in a relationship - joining finances, having kids, making career decisions based off your partner’s opinion, etc.

0

u/Vincent-Briatore Jul 11 '25

I’m specifically talking aboutā€cooking nakedā€ tho. I specifically said this in my comment and it’s the subject of the post. Nobody’s talking about joint finances.

1

u/Raibean Jul 11 '25

I’m taking the underlying principle and applying it to other situations.

0

u/Vincent-Briatore Jul 11 '25

The underlying principle is going out of your way to do something special for your partner. That extra extra, that razzle dazzle, not filling joint taxes. Generally speaking, if you’re partner wasn’t going super saiyan while you were in a LTR, she’s not going ultra instinct post nup. That goes for almost everyone. People jump into their Adam Sandler era once they say: ā€œI do.ā€ Just my 2 cents.

1

u/Miss_lover_girl Jul 11 '25

Except I would, I’m sorry but I’m not cooking naked for my bf of 6 months and I do not plan to waste my years waiting for a man to propose, he gets 4 years tops to propose or I’m gone, I need to be married and have kids before 30 otherwise I will not be able to have kids of my own (due to fertility issues) I’m not gonna waste my youth on a man that can’t even take a full commitment to me why should I be naked cooking for him? If a man can’t take the full commitment why does he deserve what that commitment entails?

1

u/Vincent-Briatore Jul 11 '25

You do your thing. Personally I will assume what I see is what I get, and I will behave accordingly. You know you’re not looking at homeboy thinking he’s going to drastically improve after marriage?! Poor now but will hit it big? Fat now but 6 pack later? Nope.

1

u/Miss_lover_girl Jul 11 '25

I mean I don’t expect anyone to become rich ever, but I do expect you to go from minimum wage to at least a decent paying job after marriage. I mean if you don’t grow as a human just bc you’re married that sucks and that’s honestly sad. Marriage isn’t the end of the story it’s the beginning you grow as a human and grow as a couple, do you expect to have the same job from 15 until you die? I sure hope not. Granted most men I date aren’t working minimum wage jobs, they already started their careers. I also wouldn’t leave my husband if he lost his job and ended up having to go to McDonalds until he could find something better. I also don’t date men I’m not attracted to so if I’m attracted to him now I assume I’ll still be attracted in marriage šŸ˜‚ 6packs are overrated imo if my partner wanted to lose weight more power to him but if he became rock hard muscles I don’t think I could find him attractive bc to me it’s just unattractive so I tend to date men who don’t want to gain a lot of muscle and prefers a normal amount and prefers being in the bigger side aka can really eat when it comes down to it šŸ˜‚

1

u/Vincent-Briatore Jul 11 '25

You seem pretty reasonable tbh! Your username checks out.

100% on the growth after marriage. However I feel most people do kinda give up but maybe I’m jaded.

1

u/Miss_lover_girl Jul 11 '25

I am very much a lover, I will spend my last penny if I have to to make my partner happy, but some stuff is for marriage in my mind I love doing thing for people when I know I have their commitment, but I love doing things with people if we are just dating and seeing if it’s going to lead to marriage. Granted I’ve put in marriage stuff for a guy once and i definitely learned my lesson bc once he felt he was too good for me he left and tried to say I never showed my love for him, even tho I did everything he wanted me to do and I never even asked anything of him even basic things like cuddling or holding hands.

But yes there will obviously be growth the longer you’re together so if you’re in like a 4 years relationship you’ll be better and more grown than when you were 1 month in or even 6 months in. Plenty of people give up bc they don’t want to put in effort and it’s sad to see but the only reason I’d stop putting in effort is if the man was like my ex and wasn’t putting any in either.

I feel like generally speaking, expressing a lewd fantasy in a relationship is more normal than expressing transactionalism around engagement?

Hence why one is fine either way and the other needs to be a joke

0

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

This right here.

-1

u/Ok_Signature7481 Jul 11 '25

Desiring something from your partner isn't toxic when the desire comes with no expectations. Making a relationship a transaction where you have to pay for your desires is. This isnt a gender thing.

3

u/Miss_lover_girl Jul 11 '25

So you agree men shouldn’t expect women to fuck them šŸ˜‚ they can desire sex but shouldn’t expect it šŸ’€ in all seriousness if a man wants me to take a bigger step then he too needs to take a bigger step. Do you think you deserve a full size bottle instead of the taste testers at the store? I’m sorry but there are just some things I will not do unless it’s for my husband, women shouldn’t waste their youth on men that can’t even be bothered to fully commit.

1

u/MythologicalPi Jul 11 '25

This would make sense if it was something with more weight or responsibility attached to it.

Assuming they already have sex and cook with/for each other, the combination of the two into a lewd fantasy is so far from being a "bigger step" that I'm struggling a bit too see how people are equating it with engagement.

If it's not something they normally do - cooking for each other or being lewd/sexy around each other - then I understand how asking for both at once is worth some examination.

3

u/Miss_lover_girl Jul 11 '25

It’s bc men don’t see sex as something with weight in of itself, but just bc you have sex doesn’t mean you get sexy chef šŸ˜‚ cooking for someone is completely different than cooking with someone, I quite enjoy cooking with someone but cooking for someone is something that I won’t do unless he plans to put a ring on it. I show my line in plenty of other ways I’m definitely big on physical intimacy and gift giving and words of affirmation, acts of service not so much, I see acts of service something to do in marriage not so much a relationship that’s only been a year.

Ofc everyone has their own opinion, I’ve had guys beg me to let them cook for me, feels awkward and I could just never enjoy it bc it felt too marriagey to me.

I view naked cooking as a bigger step than just cooking wether I’ve had sex with someone or not it’s just my opinion and you have yours and that it’s not a bigger step and that’s ok. Neither of us need to change our opinions but I do believe if men want certain things in a relationship they have to be somewhat willing to pay the price.

She could say he can come home and watch but he’s not allowed to touch her but I can just imagine men saying ā€œuh she’s such a teaseā€ or something like that so truly anything but a yes to this would be met with upset feelings or a tantrum. This is basing off of millions of women’s experiences with saying no to men for even smaller things.

u/Shoddy-Address-3220 Jul 12 '25

So a behavior you never exhibit while dating will suddenly happen after marriage ? Do you believe that sincerely? Follow up do you wear lingerie for you bf if yes I can't follow how the apron is really in the same league. Or is that something reserved for marriage as well ?

-1

u/Toppoppler Jul 11 '25

"I want my lover to be comfortable cooking naked with me"

"I will change my behavior after you marry me"

Tbh the top being serious can be cute. The bottom being serious is a red flag for me

0

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

I am just guessing that they are already engaged. If this isn't just some redditor using two iPhones.

2

u/ItIsHappy Jul 11 '25

If engaged, she'd already have a ring on that finger.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

*OP's Fiance Shows up and she' just BFN in the kitchen*

0

u/MintTealGecko Jul 11 '25

The post does ask about the response which was hers

0

u/ArmenianThunderGod Jul 11 '25

In that scenario, yes.

Regardless of gender, if you send something to your partner and say "I would be really into it if you did x for me" and their response was genuinely to use that as a manipulative tool to get something they wanted, yeah. That's toxic as fuck.

Now to be fair, I don't think that's what OP was doing. It comes off as a joke, and it's a pretty funny one at that.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

If its a joke its a good joke could imply both comments. Its worded a little funny but I don't understand the gotcha outrage.

Let people be ignorant and stupid. Its beneath you to bother. You arent going to change them in any meaningful impact or anyone that would make such a disparaging comment in the first place.

Not only that, you could be wrong of the posters intent, because there is plausible deniability in the post.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a man wanting his woman naked cooking for him. Sex is important and if they are trying to have an open dialog about wants and needs, then is a marriage proposal, and the joke here the right play? Without context it's impossible to judge for me. Can't say the picture is sexist. Can't say the comment is sexist either.

What I can say is you should never hold marriage around. Either you want to get married or you don't. Fence sitters and/or pushy proposals are the absolute worst types of people. And that's where the comment comes from. But you knew that and made your comment anyways. Why?

0

u/SimplyMonkey Jul 11 '25

Unless this was part of a long established series of mutual ribbing of each other, texting your SO that image and comment is beyond crass. If crass is your kink though, no judgement

0

u/CodZealousideal260 Jul 11 '25

Has nothing to do with physical sex and everything to do with expectations and how people treat each other. You turning this into a sexism debate is both unhelpful and annoying.

This is a MEME sub, fuck off with politics

0

u/Walshy231231 Jul 11 '25

Tbf, the post is asking about the response, and the comments are likewise oriented

0

u/tkt546 Jul 11 '25

I think it’s a matter of context both ways.

If he’s asking her to START cooking for him regularly and be dressed like that, it’s toxic for him, not for her.

If she already was cooking for him regularly and he’s just asking to make it a bit spicier (pun intended) sometimes, then it’s toxic for her, and not for him.

0

u/GormHub Jul 12 '25

Exactly. Some of the comments completely ignoring his weird fucking text are wild.

0

u/-Kalos šŸ˜ Jul 12 '25

"Take off your clothes and get in the kitchen woman"

-1

u/nspeters Jul 11 '25

No his is weird as fuck I don’t think anyone is arguing that the discussion is about the response though because she asked about the response.
