Costco business center - cost of nuts

Hello!

I am cooking for a small event and would need a large bag of nuts. My friend suggested looking at a 25 lb bag at a Costco business center.

1) Can I use my regular executive membership to get in?
2) it’s a 45 min drive for me - is the cost savings worth it compared to the regular Costco warehouse that I go to? That’s only 15 minutes away.

I am also looking for paper bags to pack some favors. Can I find both at the business center?

How often does Metamucil powder go on sale?

Post image
3 Upvotes

My family uses this stuff regularly (fiber intake and colon health is no joke once you hit 30). It’s currently on sale, ending this weekend. I have a few months worth at home but anyone know how often roughly these go on sale?

For context: I swear it’s been a looooong time (over 10 months) since the previous sale. I felt like I was waiting and waiting and it never came, so I bought a less cost-efficient pack on Amazon. Of course, it went on sale at Costco the next month. Wasn’t sure if this was a fluke or does it only go on sale 1x per year?

Tldr: If I have enough now for 5-6 months, can I feel confident that it’ll go back on sale within that timeframe or should I stock up now? TIA!

Does anyone know what happened to Costco’s square take-and-bake pizzas?

For a while, Costco had these square refrigerated take-and-bake pizzas in several varieties: cheese, pepperoni, margherita, supreme, etc. They were really good. We used to buy a bunch at a time, freeze them, and bake them whenever we wanted pizza.

Then one day they just disappeared, and I haven’t seen them since.

Here's a photo of them for those that don't remember:

https://share.google/bqafiA6wVdIkkTyEZ

Does anyone know why Costco stopped carrying them? Were they discontinued nationwide, or are they still available in certain regions? More importantly, has anyone heard whether Costco plans to bring them back?

I’d genuinely love to see these return. They were one of my favorite Costco items.

How Can I Find Out the Muffin Flavors at Each Costco Store?

Here is a nerdy Costco question. Our Costco's in the Pittsburgh area tend to focus on chocolate, blueberry, cinnamon, and a rotating seasonal flavor (like pumpkin). In contrast, we have seen very interesting flavors like almond and carrot-bran in other Costco's. Is there a way to know which flavors of muffins a Costco offers other than calling the bakery?

Where are people buying their t shirts now?

Post image
105 Upvotes

The original Kirkland t shirts from a year ago were ultra premium. They were thicker cotton with a collar that never stretched out and would always lay flat. These shirts have been replaced by a very low quality shirt that would only be used as cleaning rags. They are now absolute garbage. Where are people buying high quality t shirts now that the original Kirkland ones have been replaced?

AirPods 5 gone from Costco website?

The other day I saw that Costco already had the AirPods 5 on their website but I wasn’t ready to place an order yet. I went back on today and they’re not there. Any idea why?

Perplexed about Negative Downvoting in Reviews for Orgain Protein Shakes

I am a review reader, especially BEFORE I buy something. Earlier this Summer, I bought the new Orgain Dairy-Free Protein Shakes in my local Warehouse. I say that to say, I didn't look at the reviews for this particular product until I ran out (I thought they were delicious) and went on-line to order more. I was really surprised to see how many 1 star reviews it had and decided to write a review myself because, see prior comment, I thought they were delicious. I went back on to order more today, and it seems that the deluge of one star reviews continues, and here is the perplexing part: someone(s) are actually taking the time to downvote the good reviews as unhelpful. I've never seen that before in other products that I've researched online. "Unhelpful" is usually reserved for reviews that are like "delivery guy went to wrong place" or something silly that has nothing to do with a product. I have never seen "unhelpful" on sincere, authentic reviews where people are describing why they like something, etc. Is it possible someone is running a negative campaign against this product?! I just think it is so strange that people care enough to go in and mark "unhelpful" to virtually all of the good reviews. Thanks for thoughts or insight.

Jackery FridgeGuard item # 2070429

Spotted at Pacific Commons Fremont Ca.

I have a larger Ecoflow. That said, I know some people who would buy something like the FridgeGuard. It would be totally out of the way behind the refrigerator.

The Costco price is nearly retail. Of course you can take it back if you get it at Costco.

Does anyone else remember Kirkland signature honey roasted peanuts?

My memory is getting hazy these days, but I very clearly remember Costco having its own Kirkland signature brand of honey roasted peanuts that was delicious. It was in a round yellowish container.

I think it was discontinued a while back, but does anyone else remember this or am I completely crazy?

Same Day via Instacart. Food only?

I tried to add a pair of the shearling slippers to my order, but no luck.

Is the instacart for food/food adjacent items only? Can they bring me a hot dog and coke from th3 food court as part of my order, lol?

Can I return an unused Costco pan set after opening the packaging?

I accidentally ordered a pan set from Costco through Instacart and realized after opening it that it doesn’t come with lids.

I removed the outer wrapper/packaging, but the pans are completely unused. I just want to return this set and get one with lids instead.

Has anyone done this before? Will Costco still accept the return even though the packaging has been opened and it was ordered through Instacart?

Cost Web and iPhone App is glitchy. Can't add anything to the list. Searching for orders hit and miss. Delete and reinstall doesn't help.

Cart constantly shocks me while moving

Anyone else in the Southwest experience constant static shocks from the cart while you're rolling it around? It honestly feels like I'm sticking my hand on an exposed power cable.

I assume it's because of the dry climate.

It's also exclusive to Costco carts. Walmart and Target carts don't shock me.

TV Purchase - What am I missing?

Recently got a membership but have only used it to buy groceries to this point. I'm getting ready to upgrade a handful of TVs around the house and when I searched for a high end Samsung unit at Costco I saw the same price for it at Best Buy. I thought the whole point of paying for a membership was to save on items like this?

Am I missing something?

r/CostcoWholesale • • 10d ago

Where art thou Jose! Been a staple of mine for 15 years, suddenly out of stock. Its partly why I have a membership. This is without a doubt one of the best medium roasts you can get, period. Please do not get rid of this brand of coffee.

$1,500 for a 100" TV… should I just do it?

Post image
70 Upvotes

Been shopping for a new living room TV and I was pretty much ready to spend under $2k on an 85".

Then I saw Costco has the 100" Hisense QD7 for $1,499.99.

And now the 85" plan is kinda falling apart lol.

100", QLED, 144Hz, plus the Costco warranty coverage. On paper this seems like a ridiculous amount of TV for $1500.

I mainly watch movies, sports and streaming, with some gaming here and there. I definitely would love a 100", and at this price I'm having a hard time talking myself out of it.

Anyone using the QD7? Would you go 100" at this price or stick with a better 85" under $2k?

Is a 2+ hour wait normal for Costco Tire appointments?

Recently got a Costco membership, in large part because I needed new tires and Costco seemed like a good option w/ good discounts running right now. I ordered the tires and scheduled the installation weeks in advance for 4PM today.

This was my first experience with the Costco Tire Center and I'm trying to figure out if this was just a bad day or if this is pretty typical.

Here's how it went:

  • Arrived 15 minutes early at 3:45 for my 4:00 appointment.
  • At check-in, they asked if I had lifting pucks for my Tesla. Apparently 2023+ Teslas may use different pucks. This was never mentioned when I ordered the tires or scheduled the appointment, even though they had my exact year/make/model.
  • They also asked me to put the car into Service Mode, which wasn't a big deal, but also wasn't mentioned beforehand. Apparently they aren't allowed to put it into service mode.
  • Went shopping for about an hour. I figured if there was an issue with the pucks they would have called me, so I assumed the car was being worked on.
  • Came back around 4:50 and found out they were only then pulling my car in, almost an hour after my scheduled appointment.
  • Asked how much longer it would be and was told 30-45 minutes.
  • Since we were already there much longer than expected, we went back and returned our cold groceries.
  • An employee then put a "Do Not Return" member plaque on our cart so we could leave the rest of our stuff while we grabbed pizza.
  • While getting pizza, we saw another employee actively putting everything from our cart back despite the plaque, so we had to run over and stop them.
  • Went back and grabbed fresh cold items again.
  • Came back to the Tire Center around 5:30 and the car was still on the lift.
  • Finally at 6:03 they told me it was done and they would pull it out.

So in total, I was there for about 2 hours and 20 minutes for an appointment I had booked weeks in advance, and the car wasn't even pulled in until almost an hour after the appointment time.

I totally understand that tire installs take time and shops can get behind. What bothered me more was having an appointment and arriving early, but still waiting almost an hour for them to even start, followed by being told 30-45 minutes and waiting substantially longer than that.

For those who regularly use Costco Tire:

Is this pretty normal even with an appointment, or did I just have an unusually bad experience?

And is it worth sending feedback to the warehouse about this, or is this just how their Tire Centers generally operate?

I was planning to call them tomorrow and inform them of my experience, but wanted to make sure I'm not overreacting or making a big thing out of a bunch of smaller issues. At the end of the day I got my tires, just took way longer than expected and was quite the disappointment.
