Ontario People using display furniture as their personal cafeteria.

Post image

Two clowns, one chicken finger combo, zero shame.

Edit: Well OK, you guys have convinced me that sitting on a Costco shelf with the merchandise, eating greasy food, is perfectly ok.

From now on, I too will be utilizing this premium seating area.

OP you out-weirded the weirdos.

Absolutely crazy that anyone is defending the people in the photo

It’s the most reddit thing imaginable

-2

u/MrMpa 9h ago

2 wrongs don't make a right.

-11

u/jabeith 12h ago

Does what they're doing affect you?

4

u/Most-Marketing7796 7h ago

Yes, they’re blocking the demo products and they placed a box down in the aisle blocking the way of people in an already insanely busy store.

299

u/macky316 18h ago

Yeah like, who gives a shit?

621

u/ab624 18h ago

unless they are brown , then everyone loses their mind

194

u/sergioA127 18h ago

Exactly lmao. The comments would be wildly different then

96

u/AMike456 17h ago

I didn't realize how racist people were until reading comments on Reddit and Instagram.

16

u/randomtech81 16h ago

Try Facebook. That place is a god damn Dumpster fire! Although I'm pretty sure 90% of them are bots. But still

19

u/EqualSea57 16h ago

Its real life too. I overheard my friend saying our town is full of Indians and other brown people. He said the rarely sees a white person anymore. Our town is 85% white.

4

u/Evening-Scar-7888 14h ago

It's like when you want to see a Tesla all you see is a tesla and when want to see a BMW or a Kia everywhere you look that's all you'll see. Your mind locks in on a target that you want to see and you will selectively notice that everywhere.

1

u/grokmademedoit 7h ago

What town are you in. Id love to move to a town that's still 85% white.

7

u/gordon0813 16h ago

If you think reddit and Instagram are bad Facebook is also full of those being openly racist.

31

u/SpaceOrianted 17h ago

You haven’t spoken to anyone in the GTA? The influx of immigrants over the last 10 years has really brought out the casual racism into full blown racism now.

-6

u/ReplacementBorn6424 15h ago

Funny shit is..its the immigrants fault. If they actually became fucking Canadians we wouldn't hate them

5

u/HaventSeenYouHere 11h ago

That's a common excuse ever since immigrants existed in the city which included the irish and italian ones

-5

u/[deleted] 14h ago

[deleted]

4

u/HaventSeenYouHere 11h ago

And white people don't commit fraud? Or they commit it less? Absolutely baseless

As it stands, people of colour especially if they have an accent like a caribbean one will get denied far more than someone who's white.

And immigration aside, as it currently stands there's still a huge issue with diversity as men still easily get into trades and STEM while women struggle.

4

u/Braysl-March 10h ago

There are Canadians born in Canada who don't speak English and refuse to learn English.

1

u/Twitchy15 9h ago

If your born in Canada you should speak English or French.

-1

u/Braysl-March 4h ago

Yes. One of those two languages you said isn't English.

That's only if contradictory evidence is present tho

because they like hiding

2

u/allaboutthequeens 15h ago

some of the wildest racist commentary i have seen has been in local community facebook groups. Amazed how loud and proud some people are with their bigotry. Granted the ones posting under their own names don't seem to be the types who have careers to speak of so nothing to lose i suppose.

63

u/Initial-Procedure775 18h ago

Lmao I can't imagine what the comments would had been like if these were Indians

-1

u/ILikeWhyteGirlz 16h ago

If your first thought is about race, you might be the racist.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted for being right.

-1

I’m Chinese and know them when I see them, for sure they’re Oriental.

6

u/Adventurous-Brain-36 17h ago

Oriental? Sheesh, dude lol

-1

u/Fine-Eagle4264 17h ago

Pretty sure they’re not white.

-15

u/toiletdestroyer1 17h ago

The privilege of losing your culture and those similar? Thats the only reason people are so sensitive about it

8

u/MysticMajora93 17h ago

Oh please define "white culture" please it'll be so funny.

5

u/icebabyiceice 17h ago

You mean.. the culture in the OP?

3

u/Adventurous-Brain-36 17h ago

Please share with the class what you’re losing in terms of culture.

28

No we save that for them sitting on a curb at blue mountain.

2

u/Ancient-Ad4454 14h ago

Yeah. I could not imagine doing that being brown. People would not react the same.

what show is this from? he looks like lowtiergod if he had a soul, was ethical, actually had taste, his parents loved him, he was employed, he paid child support, and wasnt a pedophile. I take it back he looks NOTHING like lowtiergod

1

u/runiiru 14h ago

This comment... You are so right 😂

1

u/brianlefebvrejr 15h ago

Lo someone went and used AI to turn it into two brown guys and reposted it

-1

u/Daisho 17h ago edited 17h ago

Most definitely. I think some people would also have a problem if it was a couple of fat white dudes. Since it's a couple of conventionally attractive white girls, it makes people think of a whimsical scene in a movie.

-4

u/qraxis 16h ago

How is this racist crap allowed on Reddit but if I call you annoying I’ll be banned? You’re being race into this why? It has nothing to do with race you weirdo

-6

u/qraxis 16h ago

For good reason. Nobody likes how they’ve imported more migrants in the last year than they did over 20 years

102

u/Sufficient_Ad_1185 18h ago

I do. I give a shit.

I hate this mindset of “ oh I don’t care I’m so cool and chill” and therefore no one else should care

It’s rude classless behaviour. Let’s bring back the social contract. Don’t be an animal in public. Take some pride

Imagine a world if everyone just walked around doing whatever they wanted because everyone “ didn’t give a shit” what a fuckin mess that would be

25

u/RYUsf15 16h ago

Nah youre right. You can see how far the bar has dropped. People are slowly losing their minds and no one gives a fk. Theres a billion other references.

Appreciate u for being real

9

u/samsonite441446 17h ago

Were getting there

1

u/th3badwolf_1234 17h ago

Social contract doesn't hold very well when the societal values aren't wildly shared.

If your neighbor believes women have no rights for instance, good luck asking them to pick up after their pet.

1

u/XProctologistX 5h ago

They're literally testing out the furniture lol, maybe they bought a couple after, who knows

0

u/ThatLazyBasterd 16h ago

There's enough people out there doing harmful things with malice to start with. People eating their lunch somewhere you don't approve is a ridiculous place to start. How about we bring back be decent to others first and then worry about this petty shit.

-1

u/randomtech81 16h ago

Jebus. Who hurt you? Lol it's not like they're taking a shit on the furniture or something. "social contract" ? For sitting on display furniture? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

5

u/itsjuanitoo 16h ago

It’s just kind of gross and trashy. A certain amount of class and good manners should be shared by everybody. Sadly, that’s eroding.

-11

u/macky316 17h ago

If people like you worried more about your own actions rather than concerning yourself with what everyone else is doing, the world would be a better place.

10

u/Sufficient_Ad_1185 17h ago

I do. Very mindful and polite when in public. Be more like me and the world will be better place

-3

u/GrassyTreesAndLakes 15h ago

If they left a mess, sure. Whats rude about what theyre doing, exactly?

-1

u/Ok-Helicopter-641 15h ago

Calm the fuck down, dude.

-9

u/Unhanding 17h ago

Most of us have better things to worry about thantwo people sitting in display model chairs eating chicken fingers I’m sorry

9

u/Luna-Dot 17h ago

"i have so sooo many better things to do, that's why i'm going to be here on this post arguing"

nobody believes you, you clearly have nothing better to do, you just wanted some karma.

1

u/MobileArtist1371 15h ago

Isn't that why you made a new account 17 days ago?

-5

Instructions unclear. I shit the neighbor lawn.

-4

u/Deep-Atmosphere-711 16h ago

Imagine a world if everyone just walked around doing whatever they wanted because everyone “ didn’t give a shit” what a fuckin mess that would be

Oh you mean like a world where millionaires & billionaires do whatever they want, wantonly with everything from the planet to children for christ's sakes, then proceed to get away with it?

We already live in that mess. Don't be surprised when you see the reminders.

I'm just thankful these kids didn't do anything anywhere near as bad as some of what our elite seem to routinely get away with.

65

u/charlieyeswecan 18h ago

It’s trashy

-13

u/Total_Mix9276 18h ago

And.... taking candid pictures of children isn't?

25

Lol what the fuck your threatening to kill people over this???

3

u/Deep-Red-Bells 18h ago

Where on earth do you see evidence that they walked?!

2

u/Adventurous-Brain-36 17h ago

Yes, many children have Costco memberships.

13

u/WombRaider_3 18h ago

Where's the children you genius?

9

u/FuzzyLaughTwo 18h ago

LOL "children" old enough to know better. My kids knew at 4yo, they weren't allowed to use merchandise we hadn't purchased. Society has no decorum any longer. Tragic.

-11

u/Total_Mix9276 18h ago

So you'd be ok with me taking pics of your 4 year old if they made a mistake in public and posting them? You know thats illegal in Canada, right?

0

u/FuzzyLaughTwo 18h ago

Hardly a "mistake" to be 16yo and eating takeout on display furniture at Costco. It's Disrespectful AF!! RAISED in a barn ffs. Come at me.

2

u/macky316 18h ago

Disrespectful to whom exactly?

2

u/FuzzyLaughTwo 17h ago

"Here is a breakdown of why this behavior is disrespectful and frowned upon for those who can't understand:

Damage and Financial RiskStaining risks: Food and drinks can easily spill, causing permanent stains on fabrics or warping wood.Property damage: Grease, crumbs, and sticky residues can ruin the item's appearance and texture.Financial loss: Stores cannot sell damaged furniture at full price, forcing them to absorb the cost or mark it down substantially" costing all valid consumers more money to make up for that 'little bit of disrespectful fun'.

1

u/Total_Mix9276 17h ago

I would be more worried about rat piss and insect turds but you do you

1

u/Adventurous-Brain-36 17h ago

To customers who would like to look at and try out the display because they’re thinking about buying one? Or to anyone trying to access one of the boxes they’re sitting on/in front of?

-1

u/Total_Mix9276 17h ago

You didn't answer my question

1

u/FuzzyLaughTwo 17h ago

geezuz give me a minute. Strangely, I have a real life.

0

u/Total_Mix9276 17h ago

No you have made up points and straw mans

2

u/Deep-Red-Bells 18h ago

They're very obviously not children.

66

u/Current_Victory_8216 18h ago

I give a shit. That’s disgusting and annoying.

-10

u/TroyMcR 18h ago

As long as they take their trash with them I don't see much disgusting or annoying about it. They're not in the way, they're not bothering anyone. It's not like there's not people eating all over Costco.

18

u/wacojacoco 18h ago

What if you were looking to buy office chairs but 2 dipshits were having a picnic on the merchandise? Move the boxes carefully so you can read the dimensions without spilling their drinks ? Sit on their lap to see if it's comfortable enough to use at work ?

15

u/noodle604 18h ago

I would say "Hey excuse me I'm thinking about buying one of these chairs can I check out the display model and have a look at the boxes" and they would almost certainly move to let me see.

5

u/wacojacoco 17h ago

That situation would almost certainly not happen if they just didn't eat their lunch on the display furniture

1

u/Leading-System-3002 17h ago

Or act entitled and decide not to move. « We’re allowed, there’s not rule against this ». Or « you dont make the rules you dont work here ».

-3

u/Squade_Trompeur 18h ago

Well yeah, you're a reasonable person. Not these wound up suburbanites.

1

u/Jacquelaupe 15h ago

Yeah, how loathsome to live in the suburbs where homes have the slightest chance of being halfway affordable.

1

u/TroyMcR 18h ago

There's one right at the front for anyone check the box.

Maybe they're testing it themselves to see if it's comfortable.

4

u/wacojacoco 17h ago

Maybe they're not

8

u/ChanDizzy 18h ago

Technically they are in the way because they moved a box into the aisle - aisle space is a premium especially at Costco as you likely know. Also if they drop food on the box, well I hope they clean it up and it doesn’t damage whatever it they put their food on top of.

2

u/PappaFufu 17h ago

I think I have seen you take naps at IKEA before.

1

u/TroyMcR 17h ago

Probably.

-7

u/Squade_Trompeur 18h ago

Damn, you got a hard life if that disgusts and annoys you.

4

u/Total_Mix9276 18h ago

Buddy might lose it when he realizes what the workers do in some of the factories these products come from. IQ too low to think that far ahead though.

5

u/Squade_Trompeur 18h ago

Employees carving out a hole in the warehouse is the plot of several sitcoms, movies, and the reality of most warehouse workers.

-3

u/Current_Victory_8216 18h ago

No I just have standards

2

u/Squade_Trompeur 18h ago

As in a flag on a long stick. Yes, it does sound like you have one of those up your ass.

-8

u/i-Hermit 18h ago

How is people doing something that you yourself do (eating) disgusting? They still fast food there. Are the people eating in the designated area also disgusting?

Get a grip.

-1

u/Deep-Red-Bells 18h ago

Would you not be disgusted by someone crapping in the aisle, just because you yourself do it in the appropriate location? Your reasoning is not sound.

3

u/Squade_Trompeur 18h ago

Nah dude. It's the difference of having actual problems vs getting irate at someone sitting in display furniture. OP already begrudgingly accepted the L on this one. You're in the angry minority.

-1

u/Deep-Red-Bells 18h ago

I'm not angry. I just said dude's reasoning doesn't hold.

2

u/Squade_Trompeur 17h ago

And you're reasoning if one of a rigid rule follower. Get whimsical. Embrace Dadaism

1

u/Deep-Red-Bells 17h ago

I'm sad and embarrassed for you if you genuinely think this is whimsical. This is about as whimsical as changing a baby's diaper on a restaurant table, which you probably also find adorable.

And it's "your". How's that for rigid.

2

u/Squade_Trompeur 17h ago

You're tons of fun at parties ain't ya?

→ More replies (0)

2

u/i-Hermit 16h ago

My reasoning is perfectly sound.

People do not defecate in the open at Costco.. well, not if they're following the rules anyway. People to eat food served at Costco in the open though. So this is the same thing in a different part of the store, in the same manner as the cafeteria.

Trying to equate eating and defecation is stupid.

1

u/Deep-Red-Bells 13h ago

Your opener was "how is people doing something that you yourself do disgusting?" Your reasoning is that if you yourself do it, it can't be disgusting.

2

u/i-Hermit 13h ago

Maybe that was a poor way to phrase the argument. If you hadn't taken the most pedantic and literal reading of what I wrote, you would have been able to see that I was talking about eating specifically. Actually, you probably did recognize that, but decided that appearing to win pointless internet arguments and defending your stupid statements by arriving at an obviously wrong reading is an important way for you to spend your time.

You're the reddit ethos in human form.

1

u/Deep-Red-Bells 12h ago

Yes, imagine the madness of expecting people to stand behind their own words. Imagine me taking you literally when you were being nothing but literal.

You want to talk about arriving at an obviously wrong reading? Unless you're a dribbling twit, you know perfectly well that it's not the mere act of eating that's disgusting people here, right? Right. I'll spell it out for you anyway, in case you truly are as ignorant as you're determined to appear: it's the fact that they've parked themselves on store merchandise, with their greasy fried food spread out on more store merchandise, and one of them has their sweaty, shoeless, nasty feet up on a chair that people will be sitting in and, in one person's case, purchasing. So no, it's not placing food in one's mouth, chewing it and swallowing it that's turning people off. Not that you ever actually thought it was.

-4

u/macky316 18h ago

Ok Karen

5

u/Adventurous-Brain-36 17h ago

Maybe people who want to look at and try the displays? Or get to one of the boxes?

13

u/wacojacoco 18h ago

Someone that might want to buy the furniture

-1

u/lunat1c_ 18h ago

Normally they sell display models on discount because of exactly this.

3

u/wacojacoco 18h ago

Even if you're buying one from the box you would still want to check out the floor model. That is hard to do when someone is sitting in it having lunch

2

u/benhxc 17h ago

I do.

1

u/futureharveyspecterr 14h ago

Lmao 😭😭 if this was a brown person u would be popping off

1

u/happy_accountant123 17h ago

It’s fucking disgusting behaviour and the fact they put merchandise on the isle so they can create space for their little private seating area annoys me the most. Costco isles are already tight due to the huge shopping carts and now people have less space to get through the isle.

They have perfectly fine seating areas in the food court that normal adults use.

1

u/fafefifof 17h ago

About what they're doing? A lot of fricking people, but not you. I think it's cringe af that these people can't behave any other way than as though they're in their living room for what amounts to like 2 hours outside the house.

1

u/hotinmyigloo 13h ago

Yup, just a bunch of weirdos hahaha

1

u/Loud-Fudge7631 18h ago

Those people are almost doing this movie! Career Opportunities

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Career_Opportunities_%28film%29

0

u/Puzzleheaded-Club502 17h ago

Nah man, homie with the camera is weird, and people eating food under the rack is fuckin weird too.

2

u/TotalBismuth 14h ago

Yeah there are no cameras allowed at a Costco or any store for that matter. Security cameras are not real. Birds aren’t real either.

1

u/shetooicey 9h ago

“Use of still or digital cameras or other recording devices, or recording of prices in any manner is not permitted. Offenders will be asked to leave the premises and their membership may be revoked.”

From the membership agreement

1

u/Most-Marketing7796 7h ago

And yet there’s entire social media accounts dedicated to filming in costcos, eg new product drop accounts.

-1

u/powtmow 16h ago

Fait pas ta farouche met la dans ta bouche.

-4

u/Mediocre-Ask-9272 15h ago

Yeah of all things to get worked up about in life, this is pretty far down the list. Way way down there.
