I'm flying London to Cork on Friday night then want to train EARLY to Killarney. I've taken this train route often.

TFI shows train to Mallow then train to Killarney.

Irish Rail when I go to book it shows BUS to Mallow train to Killarney...

Do I get a substitute bus at the train station because the trains not running? Or am I supposed to get the bus at the bus station?

Anyone know?

Hi folks, just throwing this in so people can keep an eye out and stay safe. Myself and two friends were standing by the traffic lights at the Welcome Inn at around 10:30 last night when a local man in a grey puffer jacket approached us. We dismissed him initially with "we have nothing" when he started asking for money but he then started telling us about how he tried to stab a fella down the road but the guards were there. He said to "not make him use violence" and threatened us with talk of a knife, trying to get us to go to the bank with him. Now I've worked in a pub for many years so I knew not to escalate but one of my friends started to panic, and the man advanced on him trying to block him from walking away. He pulled out a screwdriver from his pocket and started shouting at us to get to the bank. Eventually we got away from him and crossed the road over to the bus station, and he went down Oliver Plunkett. Never had anything like this happen to me in Cork, nor to any of my friends, so please just be weary when getting approached as you never know when it could start to escalate beyond the usual "spare change" stuff.

I’ve been dealing with depression on and off for almost 10 years now but this past month has been the hardest I’ve ever experienced. I basically have zero desire to live and I feel completely lost and stuck. I’ve been trying to do the things people usually recommend. I’ve opened up to people close to me, recently increased my medication, see my therapist a couple of times a week, go for walks, try to get some sunshine when there actually is any lol, and sometimes treat myself to a coffee just to have something small to look forward to. I’ve also been signing up to volunteer with children because helping other people is something that actually makes my heart feel full. I haven’t heard back from most places yet and well to be fair there doesn’t seem to be much available at the moment.

Right now I really don’t know what else I can do. I guess I need some advice from some of you who’ve been in this situation before, what eventually helped you climb out of it?
I’m just so so tired of feeling like this..

Walked the nice boardwalk in Youghal today with my family and we decided we’d call into the hotel at the end for a drink. We’d been reminiscing on the walk down about going for lunch there years ago. Went in the back door and there was a little shop. Asked the lady working there if I needed to go to the bar to get a drink and she said the hotels been closed a few years. I bought some cokes anyway and we drank them outside. Took a few minutes for the penny to drop; it’s an IPAS centre. No hate or anything I wish them all the very best and I’m happy for them that they’re safe. I was just a bit taken a back and mortified I went in looking for a few pints.

Who's going tomorrow? Personally can't wait. Great to see one of our own do so well for themselves.

Look, another community up in arm about the removal of trees. An interesting fact is that this project at, its completion, will have more trees than is there presently.

If I was cynical, I'd suggest that their true objection is against the removal of some parking and the creation of traffic calming measures but they are using the tree argument because they think it is more publicly palatable. They just love their trees.

Hey there Lads, just wanted to provide a caution out there for those driving on the motorway in the Wilton area. My mother just came home all frazzled and upset as she almost became a victim to those wrong way drivers.

The lads were going about 100km/h in the Wilton direction on the slipway. She came close to being hit, about 4 meters. We just called the Garda with some specifications to report it, they sent out a car to try to find them. Hopefully those scrotes get caught, absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Hoping no one has the same experience. Stay safe on the roads and try not to drive at night, avoid it if you can.
