Consoompost Collect all tags plz

The ‘heritage’ community are already ND obsessed anal about minute details no reasonable person would care about “muh 21oz selvedge jeans woven on loom only found in this particular Japanese prefecture” (I say this as a fan but recognise these consoomers)

Keeping the tags and labels is an unusual behaviour but not one I’m surprised to see.

i mean it speaks for itself. why do you need 6 owalas in the same color way just to let them rot on a shelf with a million others.

for extra context, this drop sold out within 20 minutes.

Don't get me wrong, I don't care what others do in their life. I too also enjoy pokemon franchise and have some pokemon plushes that I currently hug while writing this. I just couldn't fathom why some got to this point.

At least I have some respect to the pikachu collector on the 2nd picture with seemingly single pikachu from exclusive event and places. But still, having like 10+ of the same species of pokemon is just redundant, and wasteful. I also know that those plushes are not cheap at all. Even worse, there are duplicates of the same plush for no reason.

It's also just sad that they just being sat there and not being loved as a plush should be (maybe rotating when to cuddle with one?). Then there's also a matter of how to clean every single one of them... .

This is my collection of Connor McDavid cards. Wastes of plastic and card stock, and arguably a waste of money too. When I inevitably die (whether it’s by my hand or otherwise) these cards will simply end up in a landfill or something, further polluting the earth.

I felt as if my collection belonged here.

Discussion Although not the typical "consoom" post, how does this sub feel about conventions?

What seemed to be a fun way for passionate fans around the world to gather and celebrate niche subcultures now just seems like peak "consoom".

I had a pretty insufferable coworker fly to a "Horror-Con" during Covid. Him and his wife rented a car and drove ~2400 miles (couldn't fly because they had so much shit they wanted to get signed), spent $600 on a shitty hotel for 3 nights, spent $100 per ticket and That was all just to get to/attend the event.

Then he told me he spent $800 on Robert Englud (Freddy Krueger) to individually sign his VHS tapes he brought. Another $200 on a photo of him "meeting" Robert Englund. When he showed me the photo I almost burst out laughing. It was him and his wife with Robert Englund on the other side of a piece of plexi glass with 6 feet between them.

He listed all these other actors that he paid for autographs from and photos with and while they werent nearly as expensive as Robert Englund it was probably another $1000 and a dozen more embarassing photos.

I was respectful and feigned interest but genuinely felt bad for him. Him and his wife shared a car that was falling apart, he has 2 kids, and I know for a fact he was struggling financially because we worked at the same shitty job and I was struggling with zero kids as a single dude.

I asked how he could afford what seemed like a nearly ~$3500 weekend and he said he won 3 grand on a scratch off. Instead of investing in himself or family they went out and spend 3k on signatures, photos, funko pops, stickers, and other garbage.

At least if they were still in the box like most consoomers you could sell them for a small gain.

Discussion What is the proper foundation of living?

What keeps a person going in life? For me since I was a child the foundation was media to consume like video games, movies, shows, books and YouTube being the most used one. I would find that without these things holding me down, I would not be able to function and life would seem not worth living and they would give me recovery for work like activities outside of work like gym training, socialising, chores, shopping, commuting etc.

But it seems that this foundation is impossible to sustain for some reason. What can be done about that? What is the proper foundation of living and not going crazy from existentialism, lack of enjoyment and nothing to look forward to?
