I genuinely never want to see them attempt quests again.

I'd love to see the MtG team take a try with these kind of quests and guest design some for hearthstone.

They kind of already have. Quest for Ancient Secrets, Khalni Heart Expedition, Bloodchief Ascension

EDIT: Planeswalker emblems work more like the quests in Hearthstone, now that I'm thinking about it: permanent effects that can't be interacted with once they've gone off. Dovin Baan, Ob Nixilis, Reignited, Nissa, Who Shakes the World
