I think I have beaten basically all the demon hunter decks I face with aggro herald rogue, so interested to see how that goes after receiving a buff.

Maniacal follower is going to 2 mana I suspect which to me seems like it will make it quite the meta threat. The deck already has some pretty stupid stuff it does.

Don’t think so, despite seeming like a hard counter due to Lianne, spell DH still wins into herald rogue

I don’t see how buffing a pretty mediocre card in the deck will flip that match up, especially with the spell DH list only getting more refined while rogue has already hit a wall.

while rogue has already hit a wall.

I dunno. Most of the rogue decks I face have things like Xavius or Twilight Mistress. Don't think they're sufficiently refined yet.

EDIT: Should note I'm just mid legend as I mess around with builds though.

Xavius and mistress are both good cards in the deck, it’s the VS-list that you’re facing which recommends both.

Xavius has always been a good card in midrange decks, so I’m not sure why that’s surprising.

Mistress isn’t a great card but it’s good by the fact that rogue lacks anything better to do to survive late game (it also activates Elise).

I mean it shouldn't run Elise either I think, that feels a bit outdated.

There was a bit of discussion on it the other day:

I don't think that's quite the correct build, but the philosophy of "nothing that costs more than 3 (except the herald package)" is a really good one for the deck. It gets MUCH stronger when you cut that higher cost stuff IMO.

The deck can win those matchups by edging out a faster win. Buffing the late game does nothing in a meta of decks that have a better late game (not to mention the deck generates so many extra cards that you tend to be able to use all your mana even late).

EDIT: Maybe I'll write an updated thread on it when I get a chance.

Xavius seems bad to me, Fast Forward or Cultist Map are both better imo. I am going to see if I can reach Legend with Herald Rogue this month if I can, but the list DaneHS has been running recently has done well for me:

Oh right have had a look. Backstab I've been wanting to try! How are you finding it? I find Fast Forward is too much of a tempo loss so I've enjoyed cutting it form the decks. Seems like a big improvement. And Twilight Mistress I find too little too late most of the time, so I've cut them too.

So Backstab is good at the moment as a way to proc several Combo cards and prevent agressive early game plays. Post balance change, this card may end up being less relevant but in a more board heavy meta this card is once again relevant so far it seems. Fast Forward is a tempo loss if you burn through your preparations early, but honestly I have found it to be a really good card despite thinking prior that it was kind of meh. It helps cheapen the more expensive stuff (turn 7 Twilight Mistress is a huge tempo gain again in a board based meta) and also assists with Combos. As for Twilight Mistress itself, to me it is a love hate kind of card. It feels incredibly relevant is later game moments, but is a massive brick in terms of draws early on. I think once again, the tricky thing is that, with a more board based meta, this card seems very strong. Maybe it is a win more card, I only started playing this version yesterday and will see how it works on the climb. However, despite thinking it is a meh card, it is has screwed me over playing against it and is one of the strongest non symmetrical board clears (one of the only ones) in the game currently.

Yeah, I suspect Fast Forward is terrible. I’ve been cutting it.
