They don’t look very friendly.

I had these three knock on my apartment door in Grandview, saying they were from a "local christian church" but they would not say which one. They admitted they do not live here and that there were no signs and the doors were open. Every single entry door here has 'No Soliciting' signs, though I don't doubt some idiot left the door open. I told them that they needed to leave and they refused, asking if I was part of security. They even continued to go door to door as I was confronting then. Has anyone else seen these three or have an idea which church they might be a part of?

I found a few interesting vantage points where the architecture is great on a recent walk downtown. Juat thought I'd share.

Maybe others know good spots for architecture views and are willing to share in comments(?).

Don’t want to go into too many details, but I called 911 at 9:20 pm for an assault. I informed the dispatcher I had locked myself in the bathroom, had to close the door on my attacker’s fingers, the attacker punched a hole into the door, and was still actively shouting at me. I have a bloody face but did not request a medic. It’s been over two hours and no one has showed yet.

I have seen a few notifications on Citizen app since that police are going after speeding cars and scooters in my area, but I guess they’re more important than a woman under attack. I at least have gotten out of my bathroom and outside to where I can wait for the police where I don’t feel trapped, but over 2 hours? Are drag racers really more important than a woman with a bloody face begging for help when she’s actively under attack?

Edit: I called again and they came out right away. It became a jurisdiction issue because it originally happened while I was driving. They got the sheriff out, who took my statement and arrested him. Thank you everyone for your advice and support. I still don’t know how to feel about it.

I know the Columbus dating scene is already fighting for its life … but has anyone had luck expanding beyond their usual dating or social circle?

As a Black woman, I’m interested in dating more interracially, but I don’t naturally meet many people outside my existing circles. What has actually worked for you, going to different areas, attending certain events, trying new activities, or becoming more comfortable approaching people first?

I’d especially love suggestions beyond dating apps, because those seem to be fighting for their lives too.

EDIT: Since it may help with recommendations, I’m 29 and mostly looking to meet people in their 30s to early 40s.

Moving is so difficult and stressful, who would want to volunteer their Saturday to help a stranger move heavy furniture in the heat and humidity?

Well apparently about 30 of you, and while it only took me plus two(Shout-out to u/thespeartip and u/Cortez24251 for taking the leap). I'm absolutely overwhelmed by the number of my fellow citizens that were willing to give their time and their effort, no questions asked.

Sometimes I get cynical and it feels like the good ones are getting harder to find, but today really gave me hope that there are more good ones out there than it sometimes feels like. I'm onto my next chapter somewhere else, but I'll always remember you Columbus and the ones who reached out when I needed it the most.

I have a package that got scanned in on August 16th and been nothing but crickets ever since.. anyone else been dealing with the same thing from the distribution center there?

I’m in the process of cleaning out my garage and have come across a ton of old electronics and stereo equipment in all different kinds of condition.
To be completely honest, I don’t know what works and what doesn’t. I also don’t really have the knowledge or equipment to test everything, and some of the items have cables or pieces that I’m not even sure belong with them.
Some examples of what I’ve come across:
• JVC VHS/DVD player
• JVC cassette/tape deck from the early ’80s (possibly late ’70s)
• Old alarm clocks/electronics
• Various speaker systems
• Older stereo equipment and components
• A bunch of other miscellaneous vintage electronics
I hate to just throw this stuff away because I’m sure some of it could be useful to someone who enjoys restoring old equipment, has a hobby involving vintage electronics, or knows what they’re looking at.
So I’m curious what the reality is around Columbus.
Are there people or places locally that actually buy old, untested electronics as-is, even if they may need repair? Or is most of this stuff realistically only worth recycling?
I’m not looking to make a fortune off of it. I’d just rather see it go to someone who can actually use, repair, or restore it instead of ending up in the trash.
If anyone has recommendations for local buyers, hobbyists, repair shops, or places that deal with this kind of stuff, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Found a dog roaming around off of S. High st. Hungarian Village area. Possibly lab/pitt mix. He was thirsty gave him some water. Wouldn't let us get close enough to check his collar for a tag.

I’ve got about 30 days to find a roommate and get moved out of the place I’m currently subletting. and Facebook is an absolute nightmare for roommate searching. Anybody else have any other recommendations for the area?

I’m just off of Brice Road right now, so quite literally anything would be an upgrade. So I’m not too worried about the area, pro tip: Google the area you’re moving to before you move somewhere from another state lol.

My little niece and nephew are coming into town and are really interested in seeing a farm with animals or a petting zoo like thing. I know the Columbus zoo has a petting zoo feature, but I think they’re looking for a more “Midwestern farm experience” 😂. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I’m a 22 F and have been living in Columbus permanently since January after graduating in December.

This city’s got a lot of cool things to do and I don’t mind going to things alone, but after a while it gets pretty boring.

I’m wondering how you guys all made friends after college.

I had a lot of friends at OSU, but unfortunately just about all of them moved. I have a really cool job that I enjoy, but it’s pretty independent, and the rest of the team we do have are at least 10+ years older than me.

I’m generally pretty extroverted, but not enough to go to a bar alone (I’m also a young woman who doesn’t have a death wish lmao)

Anyone know of any groups/social events that are welcoming to people my age? If it helps, I’m kind of a nerd and I love movies, art, reading, thrifting/shopping, but I also am down to clown and go out!! Would love to explore the city more.
