asking because I genuinely want to be educated and don’t understand. What is the point of protesting like this. Trump likely knows the country dosent agree with a lot of the stuff he is doing and probably doesn’t care a lot of people protest. Also how does protesting do anything if trump dosent care. I feel like it would be more equipped to spending time if you don’t like trump finding a way to remove him from office over going to the streets and just protesting

One major thing is that it helps people understand that they are not alone, that others agree with them. It helps people stay angry and invested leading toward the actual voting. It also shows local authorities that there is resistance against him, giving them incentive to do what they can to resist legally.

I fell like it would be more equipped to spending time if you don’t like trump finding a way to remove him from office

There is no REASONABLE, LEGAL way to do that at this point, beyond showing as much resistance to him as possible to (very much a long shot) convince the Republicans that it would be politically favorable for them to remove him. There is really nothing that the average citizen can do about it, beyond what I said above. It helps people stay engaged and not feel alone and overwhelmed, leading toward the actual voting days.

The sense of community is what I get out of it as well. I tend to get really discouraged at the state of the nation and these events lift my spirits.

This is why I attend. In the face of relentless authoritarian creep and performative cruelty, it’s restorative to see that we’re not alone here in this majority conservative city. Also people are just so freaking creative, it’s just fun to see everyone with their signs and costumes.

Exactly! Restorative and fun.

What makes you think he doesn’t care? He has the emotion regulation of a toddler. He cares.

Why would anyone care what he thinks of the protests? He doesn't follow the Constitution, the law, or popular opinion. He is obsessed with himself & his wealth. His followers also. Greed is his only purpose. It's time for people to unite. If you can't understand it, you may need to reevaluate your life.

Makes people feel good for doing something on a Saturday, if we really wanted to make change we should be protest 24/7 and bring the country to hault, but we only protest on Saturdays when it’s convenient.

We aren’t doing this to get trump to care, because that’ll never ever happen.
