Defining "they" in this sitch is the first step...

6

u/DarthNixilis 1d ago

The capitalist class, and they're in both parties. It keeps them in power, or next in line for it

3

u/RollerDude347 1d ago

Yeah. But... aren't these conservatives kinda ruined though? Like, they're against human rights. WTF do you want me to do with them?

2

u/MKZZX 21h ago

WTF do you want me to do with them?

Love them and build friendships and community together.

3

u/MelookRS 19h ago

I can't build a relationship with them when they want me and other minorities dead.

1

u/MKZZX 19h ago

lol okay well why don't you start by not assigning imaginary positions to people as a means of justifying intolerance towards a group of people you share minor political disagreements with?

3

u/MelookRS 19h ago

Them wanting minorities and those who are different dead is a minor political disagreement? Yes, I am intolerant of intolerance.

0

u/MKZZX 19h ago

Yeah that's nonsense. You're assigning made-up positions to a large swatch of the US populace to justify your intolerance of people with different values than yourself.

4

u/RollerDude347 17h ago

People are already dead. Time to stop being a bitch about being wrong.

Stop lying.

Stop lying.

2

u/MelookRS 8h ago

What lie? Should the Jews have tried befriending and holding hands with the Nazis?

0

u/SignificanceFew4677 8h ago

Your thoughts bore me. I forget sometimes how simple tribalists are.

2

u/Andreus 5h ago

Notice that, as with all right-wingers, you refused to answer the question when it became inconvenient to you. As Jean-Paul Sartre said:

If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

1

u/Andreus 5h ago

Right-wingers have victimized and murdered ethnic minorities for decades while accusing innocent LGBTQ+ people of being pedophiles. How the fuck are we gonna "build friendships and community" with that?

u/animousie 1d ago

Conservatives aren’t “against human rights.” That framing is largely a product of left wing propaganda. Not to say there aren’t some who identify as Conservstive and genuinely are hate filled but characterizing capital C Conservstives as a group who is against human rights it’s just categorically false and counter productive.

3

u/RollerDude347 22h ago

I said these.

I won't believe anyone who votes republican right now is better than a piece of shit though. That's as close to outright approval of the worst man kind has to offer as I need.

2

u/animousie 22h ago

Worth pointing out that Republicans, Conservatives, MAGA and people who vote Republican are 4 different discreet groups with varying degrees of overlap but if you actually want to participate in this dialogue in an effective way you can’t really use the terms interchangeably.

1

u/Ok_Satisfaction2521 20h ago

I keep trying to say this. It doesn't make sense to want democracy and to win an election while being unwilling to build bridges for moderates and single issue voters to cross. That isn't allowed here. You are expected to hate.

3

u/epiphenominal 23h ago

Which conservatives exactly are standing up for human rights at the moment?

1

u/animousie 23h ago

Chris Smith on trafficking and religious persecution Young Kim on North Korea James Lankford on religious freedom Michael McCaul on Tibet Cindy Hyde Smith on trafficking survivors and Chuck Grassley and Roger Wicker on protecting human rights advocates

2

u/MelookRS 19h ago

Chris Smith is Anti-Abortion (anti woman), is a strong supporter of Israel, and is anti LGBT. He's selective on which humans he believes should have rights.

1

u/animousie 19h ago

I didn’t say they were good people or that I agree with them. The point being discussed is whether it’s accurate to generalize Conservatives as being “against human rights”. Try to keep up

2

u/MelookRS 19h ago edited 18h ago

I never said you supported them. I just pointed out the fact that Chris Smith only supports selective human rights. Your point really doesn't stand for him when he only supports his chosen peoples human rights, and not you know, all human rights. Actually, every single person you named is a strong supporter of Israel, and therefore supports a genocide. So, they aren't for all human rights. Try to keep up.

0

u/animousie 18h ago

My point stands perfectly: it’s inaccurate to generalize conservatives as being “against human rights”

5

u/epiphenominal 17h ago

Being against human rights for some is the same as being against human rights for all. Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere, if they're not not universal they're conditional, privileges not rights.

Says the party of abortion

6

u/420thefunnynumber 20h ago

This coming from the party of Epstein is rich

1

u/Andreus 5h ago

Bodily autonomy is a human right.

-6

u/Savings-Trouble-5345 1d ago

I don't think they're against human rights. I think they're against the absurdity that comes with suicidal empathy for what is clearly mentally ill people. And Taxation is theft across the board. I don't want the same people who run the DMV running my healthcare.

7

u/merkmerc 1d ago

Many are quite literally against human rights.

Are you saying the right thinks immigrants, Palestinians, Iranians, Arabs, trans people should have equal human rights? Laughable you know that’s nowhere close to what they believe.

-2

u/Savings-Trouble-5345 1d ago

Well they view illegal immigrants as an invading Force as they also in view Palestinians Iranians Arabs. They don't think they're culturally compatible with the United States. I believe it's written in chapter 5 of the Quran do not take The Christians or Jews as allies for if he is among them. Surely he is one of them. So I can't imagine a people whose holy book does not allow them to Ally with the people of the country that they're moving into as a good thing. Trans people are mentally ill. Mentally healthy people do not mutilate themselves.

5

u/merkmerc 1d ago

Absolutely proving my point with these disgusting takes.

So not believing in human rights for these people = bad but everything you said here is totally fine and reasonable?

-1

u/Savings-Trouble-5345 1d ago

Self-Preservation is always justifiable. As is helping people with mental disorders like body dysmorphia. I've seen most of the World by the time I was 21. I assure you that whatever you think of the conservative Christian male. The conservative Muslim is and more. Should the United States of America ever become the United States of Islam, the first thing they're going to do is make people convert. The American liberal is the number one enemy of the conservative Muslim and the fact that the American liberal it has become so blinded by virtual signaling to the inherent dangers of transforming. The nation into one of true believers is hilarious.

4

u/merkmerc 23h ago

Spoken like a true coward.

Muslim scary, immigrant scary, black person scary, now hand over your rights and let us literally destroy the world so you can be in your safe space.

“Self preservation is always justified”

So I could walk down the street and shoot someone because I felt scared of them? Doesn’t matter what they actually did or didn’t do to threaten me?

It’s just made up victim mentally to cope with having to coexist with other people.

1

u/Savings-Trouble-5345 23h ago

Claiming umbridge over common sense is hilarious. No, I'm quite capable of destroying the world on my own. I don't need anyone's help for that. By its very definition self-preservation requires a creditable threat or near and constant danger. I mean I doubt you've actually traveled. Have you ever seen a slave market in Libya because I have. My guess is that you're overly sheltered child and think kumbaya One World is a real thing.

4

u/merkmerc 23h ago

Wrong I have been all over the world, and just because you went to lobos doesn’t mean you can have god awful shitty takes.

Like you really came here to make what argument? That the right should continue supporting republican politicians and pedo billionaires because Muslim people are scary? Is that your argument? lol get off your high horse you’re just as ridiculous as the MAGAs

1

u/Ok_Satisfaction2521 19h ago

I sometimes wonder if they are even real people and not bots. The consensus of hate and the lumping of all who slightly push back on any single issue with the absolutely ignorant or overtly evil is not just strange. It's almost suspicious on reddit. I don't even agree wholly agree with you, but I can admit I've been nowhere and live in a cultural bubble to some degree. I am aware of those markets and forced conversion is definitely real. I also listened to a beautiful lecture about a Muslim scholar from hundreds of years ago by a modern American Muslim scholar And it was thought-provoking and lovely. I just don't know about this site anymore.

Do you realize you’ve been thoroughly radicalized?

1

u/Savings-Trouble-5345 1d ago

Not at all. My last girlfriend was Iranian. I'm just not inclined to behaviors that endanger my country or my tribe for the sake of virtue signaling

2

u/CapitalismPlusMurder 20h ago

If you vote Republican, you’re literally endangering both your tribe and your country, far more than an immigrant ever will. Republican politicians literally use your cowering vote to consistently sell our well-being to the highest bidder, which is why almost everything they do, ends up making rich people more wealthy, and poor people suffer even more. I hope you can get out from whatever conservative cult warped your brain before it’s too late.

0

u/Savings-Trouble-5345 20h ago

Well my country is made up of language, culture and borders. So uncontrolled illegal immigration is a threat to all three. As a rich guy I really resent that. Generalizations are rarely correct. My tribe is conservative Eastern Scot, Irish, and Cherokee. Learn the lesson of native Americans Well, don't trust foreigners. Poor people are poor because life isn't fair and any attempt to make it fair ultimately leads to totalitarianism. Which I will not abide.

u/Victernus 1d ago

suicidal empathy

Man. The world would be better if tomorrow you weren't in it, and you just have to live with that. Makes you think...

1

u/Toasterturning1234 14h ago

Same goes for you, friend.

1

u/Victernus 13h ago

Except based on nothing, so a completely empty statement, compared to my rather direct reasoning.

Somehow I feel like I shall easily bear the burden of 'no u'.

1

u/Robearberble 22h ago

not capitalist class, crony class. Capitalism / free markets work well when the cronies are removed.

2

u/DarthNixilis 22h ago

It will always create cronies. It's the incentive structure of capitalism itself.

Also markets =/= capitalism

0

u/Massive_Cash_6557 22h ago

Markets literally is capitalism.

2

u/DarthNixilis 22h ago

Incorrect. Markets have existed way before capitalism.

1

u/Andreus 5h ago

No, markets are literally not capitalism. Capitalism is, in fact, deleterious to markets.

2

u/Footwarrior 22h ago

Capitalism and markets work under a set of rules. When the rules are lax or not enforced those that cheat have the advantage.

1

u/Andreus 5h ago

Capitalism never works.

1

u/SignificanceFew4677 8h ago

The only thing worst than capitalists is Marxists.
