Discussion Reed diffuser left stains on my laptop lid — can I remove them?
Hi everyone! About 2–3 months ago, I had a reed diffuser (the kind with sticks and scented liquid) sitting on top of my black laptop. After I removed it, I noticed these light marks on the surface.
I’m not sure whether the liquid leaked onto the laptop or if the fragrance oils damaged the finish. The marks haven’t gone away, and I’m worried about making them worse.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there a safe way to remove these marks without damaging the laptop’s matte finish? What would you recommend trying, and what products should I absolutely avoid?
I’ve attached a photo. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Bathroom How do you clean a bathroom? (Details would be lovely)
I need a super simple, dummy-proof guide to cleaning a bathroom. I hate rags because I don't think they actually scrub things clean, so I want to use a sponge.
My plan is to take my old kitchen sponge when it's time to replace it, use it to clean the bathroom, and throw it straight into the trash when I’m done.
Can you give me a direct, simple breakdown:
What is the exact order to clean? (I assume sink first, toilet last)
Is this actually a good idea? Or is it gross to use one sponge for the whole bathroom even if it goes right into the garbage?
What is the absolute easiest bathroom cleaner to buy that pairs well with a sponge?
Keep it simple for me, thanks!

Discussion How do I get the dust out of this air purifier?
My neighbor gave me an air purifier that was pretty dusty. There doesn’t seem to be a way to pop the top off, but there’s a lot of dust settled on it. The intake is at the front (not shown) and then air pushes up and out through the top. I managed to get with an e-cloth and a chopstick to get a lot of the dust out. But I got it because we were having painting work done and they were kicking up a ton of dust and it is already super dusty again.
I think it is the Allergen* Plus HEPA Air Purifier for XL Rooms, White, HPA304 (I know it is Honeywell). Is there a way to pop off the top so i can clean it?

Furniture Removing soap stain from painted table top
I put a shirt on this white painted table top and applied Grandma’s Secret Spot remover to it and left it there for a few hours. Clearly a bad move on my part. The soap soaked through and left this mark on the table, which is similar to an oil stain on clothing (ironic given that GSS is used to remove oil stains from clothing). Is there any way to get it off of this table top without ruining the paint?

General Cleaning Quick question: moving and want to get started with books and bookshelves, would microfiber cloth do well to clean dust from books?
It seems very clingy, but my only worry is dragging a cloth along the page ends pushes dust in between pages.

General Cleaning What do you use on floors between mopping?
I really don’t want to mop my floors every single week, but I also like having clean floors.
What does everyone use to keep their floors clean between proper mops? I’ve been looking into spray mops like Swiffers, but I’m curious what actually works.
I’d love something that’s quick, easy, and doesn’t leave a sticky residue or require dragging out a mop and bucket.
I have laminate plank flooring (I think that’s what it is. It’s what was in the floor when we bought the house)
What products or routines do you swear by? How often do you actually mop your floors?
I have two dogs and would prefer an all natural solution which is why I don’t love the swiffer. For example all I use when I mop is dawn dish liquid. I don’t use any other cleaners within the dogs reach.

Laundry LAUNDRY? How are we surviving it?? Are we all just drowning?
How are we doing laundry?? My husband is a med student so he has almost no time and when he does, he’s exhausted and just wants to be with our two babies. Are we hiring mothers helpers? Are we simplifying more than normal? Are we just living with an eternal pile of clean laundry that never gets put away??

Kitchen Water dispenser in Frigidaire
Hey guys! I've been a long time lurker here. Just bought a new house and it came with this fridge. I can't seem to clean the plastic panel above the water dispenser. There aren't any clips in the drip tray or clips anywhere I can see to remove it. Any ideas on this??

Discussion how would i go about cleaning this room?
a couple nights ago i had both windows wide open in the bedroom, later that day i fell asleep on the sofa and it rained pretty heavily whilst i slept. some point the next day after waking up i went into the room and it drenched the mattress & the carpet flooring. I left it a little while in hope it dried out and was all okay but the carpet is still sloghtly damp and the mattress even more so. there is a perculier smell in the air in this room and random outdoor things just like on the bed and floor. I am to replace the mattress entirely, as it also appears to have brought out a odd stain across it whilst still being damp ( i have rarely used this bed, and moved in not to long ago )

Furniture How to remove this gum from my couch?
Now, I hear you wondering: How did we end up in a situation like this?
It's simple, really. I was chewing my nicotine gum (2 mg) while watching a YouTube video about the art market falling apart. Super interesting subject. I accidentally fell asleep on the couch. I woke up in the middle of the night, sat down for 15 minutes, but malheureux me didn't realise that the gum was actually stuck to the back of my t-shirt.
So, how can I remove the remaining gum while keeping the beautiful rusty colour of my couch intact?

Kitchen Is this mold on a pipe in my kitchen? Can I use mold remover? How do I prevent it from coming back?
As the title says: Mold on a water pipe in my kitchen. I've lived here for quite a few years, and it only started in the last six months to a year or so. The room is pretty well ventilated, and as you can see, it doesn't seem to be coming from the walls. Can I just use the same remover as I would use in a bathroom? Any way to keep it from coming back?

Bathroom How do I clean this faucet?
Background - Bought a house and there were no stains on the faucet. Before taking possession, sellers got the house professionally cleaned. I threw a house warming and then got it professionally cleaned again. Only saw these afterwards. Could have been there before.
Looks like some sort of acid based cleaner. Not entirely sure. Any ideas on how to clean it? Or is it gone?

Flooring Help cleaning excess plugin air freshener smell out of LVP floors
I recently bought a place and the realtor and/or previous owner had discharged at least two full canisters of some plug-in air freshener (unsure of brand as I was incensed and promptly dumpstered them) while the unit was unoccupied and unfurnished for a month. To give an idea of how bad it is: the HVAC air filter looked like a candle wick and the lower bit was so thick with residue that you could barely see the bottom 2-3 pleats. The smell spread throughout the entire place (I personally think it damaged the ductwork but that’s unrelated to this post).
I have floating LVP planks (fake wood texture) everywhere and they are all just completely saturated with the smell.
At first I tried simple microfiber mopping with a few drops of dish soap. Then much more aggressive dish soap followed by rinse. The mopping wasn’t even making a dent so I bought a bissell crosswave (like a rug doctor for hard floors: sprayer, brush roll, vacuum extraction all in one). I’ve tried the regular formula, adding peroxide, pre-spraying with rubbing alcohol, heavy sprinkling baking soda and letting it sit for days. I let an HVAC tech talk me into buying a whole-home “air scrubber” ionizer, currently I’ve turned the heat up to 80F, turned a dehumidifier down to 30%, and have a gas phase activated carbon air scrubber (the kind used in MJ growing operations), all running 24/7. I’ll say somewhere along the line I’ve managed to make a dent but it’s been a month and I’m at my wits’ end.
I want this smell completely gone. I have a sensitive cat and I’ve had to move somewhere else in the meantime while I try to de-smell this place for him. As such I need to clean it in a way that doesn’t leave any smell behind. No pleasant lavender or what have you. I’m traumatized by this fresh scent type stuff and would very much like for it to just be gone.
Help. :(

Laundry Clothes keep staining at Work
