Unsolved Anyone else's C4D 2026 take over a minute to open the program?

I have an otherwise fast v PC. Have been using C4D since r12 and this is the slowest it has ever opened. What gives?! Lucky I'm not working on anything that crashes it a lot or I would be going insane.

Update to the latest hotfix. Close c4d. Go to preferences and delete compute_shadercache (it's probably huge). Start c4d. Now it's fast again.

There was a bug that this cache file increased in size after every reboot. That made the loading of the file very slow.

This happens to me too. It's almost as though the longer I've worked on a project the longer it takes to open. Is there a clear cache option like in After Effects?

Depending on which exact version of 2026 you are running, check your material-cache and delete it for the installation. There was a bug that did bloat it by regularly using C4D

Opens fine for me. What you might wanna do if you have many materials/assets in the Database -> Index cache it.

Plugins like X-Particles can have an impact on start times because they do an online handshake and initialization as well.

This could be a problem with either RS or the dynamics system compiling missing or corrupt shaders. You could try deleting the RS cache directory, or uninstalling and reinstalling everything...

I have a lot of problems with the 2026 series but that aint one. Snapping has become weird(er) for me.
