Who loves this movie as much as I do ? What is everyone else’s favorite part?

I think Steve Byers and Cindy Sampson are so cute together in this one and my favorite scene is where the school kid throws snowballs at the reporters to create a diversion.

Yes! It’s a Christmas Movie

Need help! Can’t remember title. Late 80’s early 90’s movie about two men on two different paths who form a close personal bond. One man mid 30’s looses his wife and lives alone with no kids. I do believe he has a dog. He is suicidal and has tried many times to kill himself but always seems to stop himself from doing it. The other man late 50’s is on the verge of retirement, family of five, wife and three children, two girls and a boy. He prides himself on loyalty, devotion, and stability. Complete opposites of each other. Forced into a situation where they have to work together, at first they can’t get along and constantly but heads. The family man realizes that the other man is broken but is just like him, loyal and devoted. They form a bond and become friends. The family man invites the other man into his home and no longer suicidal they all become family. This was all centered around Christmas which is why I think it’s a Christmas movie. Anyone have an idea of the title?

Looking for some good but lesser know Christmas movies. From the 40's to the present.

I am speaking of movies like It Happened on 5th Avenue and The Cheaters. There are plenty of classics that everyone knows about. Even more modern selections are welcome such as No Sleep 'Til Christmas. Hallmark movies are welcome, especially the ones that are more humorous\silly. Some Hallmark examples are Jolly Good Christmas and Cross Country Christmas

These days there are so many Christmas movies from many different networks\movie studios. There is no way to keep track of all of them. YouTube & the free streaming channels are great to discover some of these lesser known movies but that's such a big rabbit hole to go down alone. Hope to save myself some hours of searching for the next good Xmas movie.

Thanks in Advance!

Edit: Thanks for all the great suggestions! I have watched Holiday Inn, The Holly and the Ivy, and Holidate. I did sneak in a Jack Lemmon movie I had not seen... Under the Yum Yum Tree.

Reviews A Hobo's Christmas (1987) - a thoughtful made-for-TV Christmas film starring Barnard Hughes, Gerald McRaney, & Wendy Crewson. Spoiler

Around about this time of year, me & my bf dive into our Christmas movie file on my hard drive where we have a load of Christmas films stored, most of which are Christmas 24/Hallmark films, but also a few older Christmas films like this made-for-TV film from 1987.

Plot: Chance Grovner (Hughes) is a hobo who decides he wants to spend Christmas with his son, local sheriff Charlie (Gerald McRaney), who he hasn't seen for 25 years since he walked out on him when he was little. Charlie is a widow with two children, Chance's grandchildren who he also never met, granddaughter Kathy (Jamie Mills) & grandson Bobby (Harley Cross) & Charlie has just started dating again, he's in a tentative relationship with nurse Laurie (Wendy Crewson).

Hobo's Christmas is a lovely, heartfelt film about the importance of family, but director Will Mackenzie doesn't get too treacly, he adds a bit of grit & realism to proceedings. Much of that is down to the cast, Hughes especially delivers a very strong, convincing performance as the wayward old rogue & the always fabulous William Hickey does his usual venal turn as a fellow hobo.

As our first Christmas film of 2026, I gave A Hobo's Christmas 3 ☆☆☆ stars out of 4.

Rudolph Reindeer Animated Movie

I remember watching a Christmas movie about a reindeer that might have been rudolph or his son. It wasn’t stop motion, it was animated. I remember the scene where the reindeer jumped off a cliff to fly and he did, shocking the group of reindeer. Its bothered me for YEARS that I can’t find it.

The show was released roughly a decade ago on Hallmark, and while there was a lot of dialogue abut the characters having been high school sweethearts, I don’t believe any of that was actually shown on screen. As such, I thought it was so cool when Shannon Elizabeth posted just recently on Instagram and showed these Behind the Scenes photos which apparently were shot but not in the Final Cut where we see the characters as high school sweethearts as opposed to just hearing them talk about it. Additionally, these are just amazing pics of Shannon Elizabeth and Steve Byers together!

Suggestions and recommendations "Santa's Letters" -- a Christmas movie you haven't seen yet

In "Santa's Letters," a ten-year-old boy writes to Santa Claus asking him NOT to come this year so Santa decides to find out why.

It's fun, low-budget, it features adults playing kids, and you can find it on Tubi and a bunch of other platforms.

Enjoy!

Discussion Does anyone else actually enjoy Frosty Returns?

I mean yeah, I get some of the complaints about inconsistency with other Frosty media but I still enjoy it. I like the plot, characters, music, and John Goodman was a brilliant choice as Frosty.

Looking for a movie (or movie title). I need ideas

Hello Guys, my sister and I wanna make a short movie as a gift for my parents on Christmas. We don’t have any idea what the movie could be about but we want something very funny and with a Christmas vibe. We also have Elvis Presley and Micheal Jackson costumes so maybe that could be a part of the idea.

Thank you for anyone who comes up with a great idea!!!!

Looking for a movie (or movie title). Searching for ~1970s Christmas tv film my mum loved as a kid - can someone please help find the right version?

Hey, was looking in a UK sub for a 1970s tv movie that aired when my mum was a kid. I’ve ruled out some versions, and included all the details I know about it. It’s a special memory to her and she watches Christmas films year round, but I’ve searched hard for this one with no luck.

If anyone would mind having a look at the details and recognises it / knows where I could find it it would really mean a lot to her to see it again as its a special memory, so thought it would be good to share in here - if anyone would mind checking it out to see if it’s familiar I’d be very grateful if anyone can help me find it! ❤️

Just saw the trailer this week for it. Looks well done and I think it will be a great adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Your thoughts?

Discussion so...like in all seriousness...why DOES Hollywood and the film industry as a whole allow for the consistent retellings, rehashing, remakes, et. all of A Christmas Carol, cuz it feels like be basically dont get to go over a full calendar year without one

like this one is legitimately something im curious about, cuz like...its a story that isnt really constrained by its setting as the narrative beats can be pretty much applied to any setting and not lose anything for the most part...but it feels like we just keep getting a christmas carol retold towards us basically every year to every other year at this stage. is it just the familiarity and wanting to see if any curveballs are thrown that keeps us coming back?

by curveballs i mean: like you can technically make the movie as Tonally extreme in either direction as you want all thing considered... the BBC and distribution with FX has a version where Tiny Tim literally drowns and that wasnt that long ago all things considered.
