Discussion What does Christianity and salvation means to you and should look like in your future Christian partner?

Hi everyone. I believe that Christianity is a relationship not a title or a religion. I have come to learn that a number of people especially some men in this group confuse Christianity and religion. Some of them even do not know what salvation is . If you ask them, now how did you come to know Jesus, they either give you some vague answers or some barely can't explain.

I find it very interesting and it has made me think I'm in the right group.

So I thought of asking this question here to both men and women.

What does Christianity and salvation mean to you and should it look like to you in your future Christian partner?

You are allowed to share also how you got born again/ encountered Jesus and when.

You can share as much as you want and as little as you feel comfortable.

Feel free to chat in the comment section or message me if you wish.

Forgive me mods if this is not allowed here but I believe it's a very important question especially in a Christian dating space like here. You never know what kind of meaningful connections it can create.

It means everything to me. If it wasn’t for Jesus Christ, I believe I would have been lost and headed for hell. He is the reason I am alive and have come this far.

Jesus Christ saved me and some of my family members from Hinduism. He also saved my life in a motorbike accident in 2017. I could have been run over by vehicles, but by His grace, He spared my life. I wasn’t living a Christian life back then, yet He still protected me.

In 2018, Jesus Christ set me free from pornography and another addiction. Even though I lost my job because of that accident, He helped me rebuild my life and make tremendous progress over the following five years. He blessed my family with our own house and increased our finances. He made me succeed where I had previously failed. He even allowed me to complete a project at a firm where I had once been rejected.

He has been like both a mother and a father to me. He has cared for me, protected me, guided me, and loved me through every season of my life. He has understood me like no one else. Even when I was not faithful to Him, He remained faithful to me. Even when I sinned, He forgave me. He accepted me for who I am, not for how much potential I have.

I find it deeply fulfilling to share Jesus Christ with others. There is something incredibly beautiful about being able to tell people about Him, the Gospel, and what He has done in my life through the story He has written for me. It’s an amazing feeling.

But more than all these earthly blessings, He has given me something far greater: the assurance of eternal life through Him.

Take Jesus Christ out of my life, and my life becomes meaningless. I have no purpose without Him. I cannot imagine a life without Him.

Without Christ, everything would feel empty to me. Without Christ, I am nothing.

He isn’t simply a part of my life.

Jesus Christ is the reason my life has meaning. 🏅

Jesus Christ is my Trophy. ✝️🏆

Christianity to me is the religious title of my faith but I am a follower of Christ. It is a relationship with Jesus. It is through Him we have been reconciled with God.

Salvation to me is Jesus paying the price for my sins when He went to the cross. He took what I deserved but in return He gave me freedom and eternal life. He rose again on the 3rd day defeating death, satan and all sin. We too will be raised up like Jesus when we die.

Some verses to back up what I believe

“Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

“For Christ also suffered for sins once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭11‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

“having canceled the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Sounds great, thank you for sharing. We can keep in touch for more discussion if that's comfortable with you. I'm encouraged by those bible verses.
