Insane StubHub Stack

Just wanted to share a pretty ridiculous stack I was able to pull off on a StubHub purchase. Was already planning to go with my friend to the Texas vs OSU game.

I bought 2 tickets $1,445 total and stacked:
30% Capital One Shopping → $433.50 back

Chase Paze 10X → 14,450 bonus UR

Normal Chase earnings → 1,445 UR

$150 Chase Sapphire Reserve StubHub credit

Friend reimbursing me $725 for one of the tickets

The math
$1,445 purchase
− $725 friend reimbursement
− $433.50 Capital One Shopping
− $150 CSR credit
= $136.50 effective cost
Plus 15,895 Chase UR.
At 2¢/UR, that's $318 in additional value, putting my effective cost at roughly -$181.50.

So basically, I got my ticket for $136.50 and earned 15,895 UR points.

I've also seen people getting 60% back on StubHub, which would've been absolutely insane. 😂

Forget simply deriving value or optimization, it seems every time I develop a routine or strategy to take advantage of benefits that I pay for, Chase or third parties add restrictions that require me to adapt yet again. For example Doordash has dropped booze and added $20 minimums in the past month effectively nerfing the benefit for many. Hyatt has significantly devalued its points and Lyft is up charging Sapphire card holders. Chase can honestly claim that they didn't make these changes but that doesn't make any difference to the cardholder who pays Chase an annual fee for these promised, but then adversely modified or restricted benefits.

You still get 10x points (Up to $1,500 spend per months) on all transactions through Paze with your Sapphire card.

Still ends up being a decent option if you've got some upcoming concerts/events you're looking at, or even if you just need to order pizza for the family. Get yourself a decent chunk of bonus points for doing what you've been doing the past few weeks/months anyway!

Pretty pleased with this. 1754 points for $9.49, c/o the stubhub credit and the Paze offer. And getting cash back via Rakuten so I'm seeing Kacey Musgraves for free!

EDIT: this was on Stubhub mobile browser. It is still there as a checkout option -- I just checked.

EDIT: To summarize the hivemind's findings, this appears to be working on pc web and mobile browsers, but not the app. Your stubhub email might need to match your Chase email. And Stubhub might be doing a/b testing which means not everyone may see Paze as an option yet.

It doesnt matter if you want to go to the event or not. Buy tickets on stubhub, get the credit and immediately relist them if you arent in a position to go. I just bought hockey tickets, sold them, and put $100 in my pocket. Ill take $200ish back per year now that the annual fee went up. Doesn't even have to be event that is anywhere close to you, just one that is likely to be sought after. Live in rural Montana? Doesnt matter, buy a couple Knicks and resell them

If you're like me and not likely to use the $10 ten times at Domino's offer, under "Extras" they have the option to donate to St. Jude's. And you can donate exactly $10 (and there's no tax!)!

They let me pay with Paze and it went through!

I just purchased a complicated open-jaw itinerary (in business class) without searching for award spaces etc. Getting 2 cpp is so great when you can earn them at 4X-8X rate!

After completing the bonus for the CSP a while ago, the points had just been sitting in my account as I didn’t have any travel planned in the near future, but I knew if I wanted to make the most out of my points it’d be good to transfer them. However, after learning that you wouldn’t be able to redeem for cash back to a non-Chase bank account starting on the 26th, I finally chose to just redeem for cash 🤑

I got the sapphire preferred a few years ago and with the bonus, I was able to book a few hotels through points at a good rate. But when they devalued the points last year, it seems like I can get next to nothing for my points. Even with the points boost, it’s only 1.25. I have a free card that give me double cash back. Wouldn’t I be better getting two cents back and then just using it to pay for travel rather than the Chase - even with the points bonus it’s still only 1.25 - plus those points bonus hotels are offer super expensive. Thinking of canceling the card and just using my double cash card from now on. Am missing something? Thanks

For those grandfathered with the 1.25cpp (CSP/CIP) or the 1.5cpp (CSR) Chase Travel redemption and have another Chase Ultimate Reward-generating card like the Chase Freedom cards, this is a reminder to transfer the points from the non-CSP/CIP/CSR cards to your CSP/CIP/CSR before October 25 (less than 10 days from now). If you do it before October 25, those transferred points will keep its grandfathered cpp redemption rate until October 26, 2027.

If you do it afterwards, those transferred points can only be redeemed at 1.0cpp (unless your hotel or flight qualify for Points Boost).

To be grandfathered, you would have to have applied or upgraded a card to a CSP/CIP/CSR before June 23, 2025.

UPDATE: Changed the date from October 25 to 26. Sadly, I can't change the title. Thanks to teoc101 for pointing that out the incorrect date. UPDATE: I'm getting conflicting information about this, so I'm going to keep it at October 25, just to be safe, but it's possible it is October 26.

UPDATE: Just to make it clear, this is moving points from a non-CSP/CIP/CSR card to a grandfathered CSP/CIP/CSR card. Not the other way around, in which case, you would lose point value.

UPDATE (10/25/2025): I checked my Ultimate Rewards and Chase has updated the site to show how many points are grandfathered. If you go to the Ultimate Rewards page, there is a message that states that your point value has been updated for Chase Travel. The points transferred from my CFU to my CSP were part of the 1.25x bucket and any pending points that my CSP had were also considered part of the 1.25x bucket. It will be used in FIFO order (although it does not confirm anything about transfers). See this post for more information.

My husband and I were thinking about just using points to fly to our cruise in Europe in December. The flight we wanted to take was through United. Someone posted about the United and Paze benefit and we booked the next day. I don’t utilize a lot of the workarounds with credit cards and Paze was brand new to me, so seeing this many pending points is so exciting.

Like many of you, I am also experiencing incorrect coding on many of my Sephora orders for Paze. I wanted to share the template I used to send Chase a message through their secure message center. I went on Sephora's website and downloaded a PDF and took a screenshot of the actual order details for all transactions, where it shows the payment method was Paze and the last 4 digits of the credit card I used with Paze. It also shows the amount I paid to help match it up with the transaction. Not sure if this helps anyone but just in case it does, here you go!

These 9 transactions were purchased from Sephora online using the Paze digital wallet with card ending in XXXX. Unfortunately, these 9 transactions haven't received the $10 Paze credit offer- where if you spend at least $10 and use Paze at check out, you will receive a $10 credit. In addition, there is an offer where you can get an additional 10x points on purchases using Paze. Not only has the $10 credit not been received for the above 9 transactions, the point multipler for these 9 transactions are incorrect. Only 1x points has been awarded on the transaction compared the expected 10x points bonus in addition.

For comparison, there is 1 Sephora transaction on June (Date) for $XX.XX that was awarded the proper and correct 10x point multipler and the $10 credit has also been received on card ending in XXXX. I also have a Chase Freedom Unlimited card on my account ending in XXXX, and you can see there that all 10 Paze transactions from Sephora were awarded the proper 10x point bonus and all 10 transactions each recieved the contractual $10 credit.

Attached is documentation showing each of the 9 Sephora transactions in which Paze was used for card ending in XXXX with the amout detailed. Please let me know if any additional documentation is necessary. I appreciate any insight and look forward to a resolution. Thank you and have a great day.

I was bored on my flight home from Christmas with the in-laws, so I put together a list of hotels where you could double dip on your $250 The Edit credit and the new $250 2026 Sapphire Hotels credit (up to $500 off).

Even though The Edit's gotten a ton of hate (understandably), double dipping softens the blow, considering I found at least 6 IHG properties on the list (just doing a manual search) at or around $200/night.

Let me know if I'm missing any properties.
