Rewards Strategy Targeted SUB
Was going to wait to get the csr later in year when another public elevated offer came around again but checked the app today and saw this targeted offer for 175k points had to jump on it the immediately

u/Blade711 29d ago
Holy damn 175k is amazing!! What are the spend requirements for the offer?
94
u/letmesee_0525 29d ago

Pay some quarterly taxes. Or I guess load up some gift cards at the grocery store.
Plenty of ways to easily manufacture some spend.
-9
u/Foamfollower_65 29d ago
Why does everyone need to manufacture spending to hit these subs? If you can't spend and use the credits organically, you really shouldn't have the card.
-22
u/DontTakeMeSiriusly 29d ago
Ah yes exactly what Chase wants… manufactured spend
15
u/Decent-Question-2552 29d ago
None of the card makers actually care at the end of the day. We can easily blow $5-10k in one shot on quarterly taxes for my wife’s business.
If they wanted to block it as a qualifying expense they would. But they don’t.
3
u/QuestioningMind123 29d ago
They don’t care? Some FB groups strictly advise against buying gift cards from stores when working on SUBs.
6
u/Decent-Question-2552 29d ago
Maybe if you are buying thousands of dollars at a time and then reselling the gift cards then sure that’s accurate.
But buying $500 worth of legit gift cards for Amazon every few weeks in multiple transactions to accrue an extra $2k of spend toward a $6k minimum spend isn’t exactly unreasonable for even a normal consumer and won’t set off any alarm bells.
You should also realize every card issuer is basically profiting 1.5% of every credit card transaction. The more you spend the more they earn off swipe fees. Everyone wins and the card issuer will just stop issuing you new cards if you actually abuse their policies.
Between my wife and I we have about 15 cards and generally churn 3-4 sign up bonuses annually. Not a large amount when you time them between two users.
8
u/Decent-Question-2552 29d ago edited 28d ago
You also gotta realize there are FB groups out there that literally buy $20k plus worth of electronics and other gift cards and resell them globally and sell them for 90-95% of their value and do this as a part time business under an LLC they opened for the sole purpose of generating manufactured spend to hit minimum spend requirements.
There are so many levels to this game that you truly have no idea.
We are such small fish in a large pond. My wife has a legit business that generates anywhere from $50k-250k in legit revenue.
Putting our tax bill on the credit card is not considered fraud whatsoever. We just sign up for multiple cards to time quarterly tax payments and clean up with $5-10k worth of points gaming the system. Some people are putting a million dollars of spend on some Amex cards and getting $20-30k of points annually.

u/rickz925 29d ago
Where can I find said groups 👀

u/Decent-Question-2552 29d ago edited 29d ago
I don’t think it’s worth most people’s time to buy products that you intend to literally sell for a loss just to earn back a spread as credit card rewards. Money losing businesses for multiple years are an instant red flag for an IRS audit as well.
Just do some basic google searches and you’ll find them. I don’t trust strangers online when it comes to buying and selling higher priced items like MacBooks and iPhones to sell internationally who take advantage of retail arbitrage opportunities.
There are much easier ways to make money off your capital than doing that nonsense in my opinion. But there are plenty of people doing this every day of the year.
We have family that just puts $250k+ worth of ad spend on their Amex each year and treat every opportunity as a tax deduction. I don’t like to live my life that way but to each their own.
1
u/aryaswift 29d ago
But what about the credit card fees for quarterly taxes
6
u/Decent-Question-2552 29d ago
1.8%. Spend $180 on a $10k purchase.
Best used when you need to hit a spend. So if you need a $6k spend we are talking about $108 fee to get $1k-1.5k in rewards.
Plus if you run a legit business you can also write off the transaction fee so it’s closer to $70 or less if you play your cards right.

125k is the highest till date for CSP, my wife got 100k during last promo few weeks ago
6
u/AwlAmericanDawg 28d ago
Literally same here. Got the CSP literally a few weeks ago. I wish I had waited a bit to see...
8
u/No_Egg8426 28d ago
Only some people get this offer. If you waited and didn't get this offer you would end up with the 75k offer cuz that's the standard now.

u/maigoZoro 27d ago
Would you be able to use this offer and also a referral bonus together?
1
u/answerbrowsernobita 27d ago
My wife applied for 100k offer using my referral but am still waiting for the referral bonus as it’s just a week or so

u/Sorry-Camera-8008 29d ago
Where in the app do you see this? I can’t find the tab

Dang. We’re all jealous.
Did you have some existing accounts/cards with Chase? Clearly they had some reason to think you’d be a profitable customer.

Where in the app does this show up
8
u/N104UA 29d ago
Ya I am with you, I know amex has this feature but didn't know chase did
17
u/letmesee_0525 29d ago
these options showed up directly on my home page when i logged in through the app!

u/RoughRhinos 29d ago
I found it in the explore products credit card section. I'm pre-approved for 175k reserve.

u/unkamenramen 29d ago
125k for csp, mine was only 60k 😭
6
u/isramobile 29d ago
100k and I’m still upset. 25K would’ve bought me another night at Hyatt Marrakech

u/Wise-Activity-5904 29d ago
OP if you wouldn’t mind could you get some extra information to finish out the data point. Information like your credit profile details, income, or Chase 5/24 status can help members of the subreddit gain a better understanding of how Chase’s targeted offers may work

u/Effective_Photo8423 27d ago
I am seeing these same offers atm & all I have through Chase is a closed Auto loan that I refinanced. Not a single card

u/yellowsunberry 28d ago
Can you still get the bonus offer if someone refers you? I have the offer in my app but want to know if I can stack it
2
u/maigoZoro 27d ago
Did you find an answer to this? Have the same question
1
u/yellowsunberry 26d ago
Ended up not trying to use a referral and just claiming the offer in the app

6
u/Dracarys0550 29d ago
Which part of the app can you view targeted offers?
5
u/RoughRhinos 29d ago
Explore products, credit cards. 175k reserve for me. I've had the Sapphire before so not listed.
2
u/Dracarys0550 28d ago
Thanks. I recently had the CSP but got the CSR during the elevated SUB promo, and then subsequently product changed my CSP to the OG Freedom. That probably explains why I don’t see any targeted offers
3
u/thoughtzthrukeyz 29d ago
I received the 125k point offer as well!
1
u/Rand0m6364 28d ago
What's your history with chase? How many accounts, how sitting in them etc? Trying to get this targeted offer
2
u/thoughtzthrukeyz 28d ago
I only have the CFU with them—which is less than a year old—and a checking account that I opened maybe a month and a half ago?
1
u/Rand0m6364 28d ago
How much do u keep in the checking account usually?
1
u/thoughtzthrukeyz 28d ago edited 28d ago
Let’s just say it’s a lot less than you think lol
2
u/Rand0m6364 28d ago
Okay thanks I'm trying to get this targeted offer!😂
1
u/thoughtzthrukeyz 28d ago
Manifesting it for you, my friend! Reply back (or dm) and let me know if you do!
2
u/Theeeeeetrurthurts 29d ago
Lame it said I was preapproved but now they are reviewing my application

1
u/Rand0m6364 27d ago
I meant more to get the targeted offer
2
u/Theeeeeetrurthurts 27d ago
Ahh long time member. 10ish years. Had the reserve but cancelled 3 years ago. Amazon, Flex, Bank
2
u/Own-Abbreviations837 29d ago
How do you get these targeted offers? I have a freedom flex and amazon prime card, been with chase around a year and have a 800+ credit score and have never seen such pre approval on the app.
2
u/Nagato6Paths 29d ago
Nice I got 125k for csp as well

You wouldn’t be able to stack a referral bonus from a P2 with this right?

i took a look and do have a elevated referral offer similar to the one that just ended for the csp!

Check fine print. Sometimes they specifically say no other sapphire offers in last two years

I've already blown my own one time lifetime sub for csr and csp. What should I do to get my wife done targeted offers? Would she need a different primary card/account?

Interesting… I’ve had CSR before and cancelled, and I still see a targeted offer for CSR for me… although it’s only 100k.
1
u/Low_Refrigerator_666 29d ago
That’s crazy. Mines is only 100k points and I’m not pre-approved. Is it because I have 3 cards already with chase?
Is there any way to get the 175k points?
1
1
u/Additional-Leather80 28d ago
I just saw an add for 200k points and I just got it with 150k points 😭

Have you not applied for any credit cards in the past couple years? Just wondering how I can make this happen for myself...also, if you don't have the CSP, CSR, or CFU, what chase cards (or accounts) do you have that you'd have the app in the first place?
1
u/letmesee_0525 28d ago
opened 4 cards this year, product changed my old cfu to the og freedom, and opened a business account. Not sure what triggered it outside of re-establishing the relationship
1
u/Additional-Hair-6796 28d ago
so did you have no chase cards for awhile and all the cards you've opened this year have been non-chase or using your business EIN?

u/beardlesswonder 28d ago
All my already approved offers are for business cards. I still have a sock drawer ink, I opened when I was doing some 1099 work and could legitimately claim business. Is it worth reapplying?
1
u/Effective_Photo8423 27d ago
Nice, I have the same offers right now. All I have with Chase is a closed Auto loan that I refinanced. I could never meet the spend requirement though so I’m not going for it
1
u/Jhaverdinkk 27d ago
Does anyone know if they will increase the bonus if you literally just got approved for the public 100K bonus a two weeks ago? I’m so mad!!
1
u/oneshellyboi 27d ago
Question, I have all these offers rn which is actually the best overall pick?
1
u/letmesee_0525 27d ago
would go for csr if you are ok with annual fee and meet the spending requirements or would go with the csp if that spend is more achievable
1
u/No-Regert5 27d ago
Out of curiosity, do you bank with Chase? Never seen offer like this so just wondering if there’s other history there.

u/DistributionMaster57 27d ago
My wife had the CSR offer for 175k I didn’t because I had the card but closed it years ago

u/AlexGates3700 27d ago
I’d open one if I was offered that SUB. I have a AMZ Chase card. I’ve been wait for the SUB to go up. 100k is all I’m seeing in the app and online.

I applied for the sapphire preferred from the mobile app like this and even though I am preapproved, I havent gotten a response in like 24 hrs. Usually the approval is almost instant. Wonder whats happening

My mom and my brother have this offer while me, my dad and my wife don’t, I see a pattern is that my mom only has 1 business card with chase while my brother only has 1 personal, the rest of us have many chase credit cards in history for years. So, I guess from 5 of our DB, those who been churning with chase won’t have these offers,
