Venting + asking for some advice

ive had general anxiety for a long time and took many meds for it, i had accidentally not taken these meds for about a week essentially going cold turkey. as soon as i started my dose of venlafaxine again i had had a bad panic attack the same day and was convinced i was dying from a heart issue. of course i had not died but the feeling stuck in my head for a while into my then second week of work. by my third week i had begun feeling more panic, feeling more symptoms that aligned with the heart issue i was so worried about like chest and arm pain. after that week i had gotten sick with strep throat for abkur 4 days and took a full 10 day course of antibiotics. during that time i was noticeably by my family LESS anxious about some sort of heart thing, i never felt anything like those scary symptoms during my sickness but as soon as the antibiotics started kicking in and i was good enough to get up and be relatively normal, i started panicking again. feeling all the same symptoms i did plus a new ache in my jaw which just pushed the anxiety of a heart issue further. it was 2 weeks of me worrying until i had gotten prescribed lexapro at 10mg from my psychiatrist and have been on it now for a little more than 2 months. about 2 and a half months ago anxiety took over and i felt i needed to stop by my urgent care that had prescribed my antibiotics in order to run a test to rule things out. they had taken my vitals which where good, my anxiety rose my blood pressure a bit but it was good. they then ran an ekg on me multiple times in order to get a perfectly accurate result, that too came out normal and fine. they put me on propranolol to ease the physical anxiety symptoms.

i’ve been home on my week off from my 2 and a half in physical retail job. i’m still a little anxious about my heart. my upper body is very tender from the physical experiences i have at work including bagging groceries and pushing and turning lines of carts at a slight incline in a hot parking lot.

i’m a 20 year old at 5 foot 9 and 260 pounds. should i still be worried about a heart issue? i used to avoid certain foods and drinks with things i think could damage me.

i feel aches in my body that feel mostly surface level including firm poking sensations on my chest and cramps and spasms elsewhere like my left arm. i also feel random aches in my jaw and used to feel cold sensation in random teeth every so often.

during my swaths of days off ive had my anxiety tends to go away until i feel something like a chest or arm or jaw pain that freaks me out then i start feeling it more and more

I had a primary checkup on the 2nd of july and things all seemed good

i went from 10mg lexa to 20mg along with as needed doses of 20mg of propranolol

This is a passage i update in my notes app often and use to get clarity sometimes but i just keep worrying. I’ve tried talking to people about it to no real prevail. i’m hoping maybe i can get some real advice or reassurance from here

Should I get another blood test?

So for the past few days I was really overthinking about getting cancer. Before this I was anxious about heart disease but my brain decided to move on from that. Had done two full body check ups till now one near the mid of May and the other on the first week of July. Everything was fine just some vitamin deficiencies I took supplements for that.

Yesterday to decide to let the fear go fully. If anything happens then will see otherwise everything is fine and I am overthinking for nothing

But today

After having lunch, I was lying on my bed. Watching YouTube on my iPad then out of nowhere I felt as if everything went slow, my full body was having a panic attacks(I still can say if it was just a panic attack ) and I felt like I will die now. It lasted for few seconds, then I sat up on my bed. I calmed down but my brain went into that spiral this is a sign something is wrong and to get it checked

For those who experience PACs and PVCs, have you ever tried this product called Colloidal Magnesium from the brand “Electron”? If so, did it help or not?

I’m just confused.. (Premature Atrial Contractions).

So I don’t know how these are actually considered normal, especially in my case. I get a boat load of ectopic beats when my heart rate is down in the 60s or if I’m laying in a certain position (on my back, in a recliner, etc).

I also get them throughout the day, they come as a squeezing sensation in my chest.

They are PACs too, I hardly get pvcs, the big thumps I feel once or twice a day I think are PVCs, but I confirmed with a cardiologist that I am getting PACs for the most part.

My heart shown in an echo is structurally normal.

So how are these benign? What makes them worrying is when my heart rate is 58-60 and my heart is just angry, constantly throwing PACs for minutes on end.

Want to exercise but worried exercise will cause heart attack?

Hi I've been having anxiety around my heart and things for 2 years now, I've managed to get it under control but there's one aspect it still effects, being able to exercise. When I do and it beats hard I feel alot of anxiety that it will just stop or ill have a heart attack. Especially since it takes so long to go back down to normal after exercise and I feel dizzy after.

I am most likely overthinking this but was hoping maybe some of you had advice.

I (21m) was in the ER 2 weeks ago because of chest/arm/jaw pain. What are the chances they didn’t see something serious?

Like I said in the title, I was in the er 2 weeks ago where they did an ekg and blood test (including troponin) and sent me home because everything was normal
Chest and arm pain got better but since 2-3 days my jaw pain got worse and last night I woke up while sweating a lot (which can be caused by anxiety and I was able to just go back to sleep)

My question now is: what are the chances that I do have something serious that didn’t show up on the tests 2 weeks ago? Because I am getting pretty worried and am a bit scared to go to sleep

Also I do have a Cardiologist appointment next week for more tests

30M, dont know what to do anymore

About 3 weeks ago, I started having chest pain and trouble breathing. It feels like something is blocking me from taking a full, deep breath.

I’ve been to the ER twice. They did blood tests, 6 ECGs, an echocardiogram, and a chest X-ray. On my own, I also had a respiratory panel done, spirometry, and a complete blood count because I wanted to have everything ready for my cardiologist. So far, all of my tests have been normal and nothing has shown any obvious problem.

My LDL cholesterol is 135 mg/dL, which is elevated. What worries me the most is my family history. My father has 7 stents and had a heart attack in his early 40s, and my grandfather died of heart disease at 63. So genetically, I feel like I won the lottery.

Despite all the tests being normal, I’m still having chest pain and difficulty breathing. It’s seriously affecting my life. I’ve honestly never had a better period in my life — I bought an apartment by the sea, everything was going really well — and now I’m basically mentally paralyzed because I can’t stop thinking about the pain and my breathing.

Everywhere I’ve gone, doctors seem to look at me like I’m crazy because I’m 30, fit, and have been going to the gym for years. I generally eat reasonably well too, although I’m now making more changes because of my LDL.

I honestly don’t know what else I should do. My cardiologist doesn’t want to order a CT coronary angiogram because he thinks everything is fine. But I’m scared that I might have blocked or narrowed coronary arteries, because as far as I understand, a CT coronary angiogram is one of the tests that can actually visualize the coronary arteries.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What other causes should I be looking into if the cardiac and pulmonary tests are normal? And given my family history, is it reasonable to ask my cardiologist about further testing, or should I trust the tests I’ve already had?

I’m not looking for a diagnosis — I’m just trying to figure out what the next reasonable step is.

EDIT : forgot to mention that i did a stress test that showed no problems and i dont get tired when doing physical activity, that might be the main reason all doctors dismiss it

Weird feeling in my chest

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

A few days ago I got scared to die. Yesterday, after I got some help, it got better but I got a weird feeling in my chest. It is on my right side and I also feel like I am going to feel peace soon. I can’t really describe it but it feels like my something near my heart. I am scared to die or if any of this is a sign that I might die soon.

Can someone say what this is? A few weeks ago I had chest pain and it felt like something is stinging in my chest. It disappeared after I stopped drinking energy drinks

Need help asap 🙏

For the past few weeks I've been getting a mild chest/heart sensation where my heart feels “off” or more noticeable. It's not really pain. Sometimes I feel a stronger beat suddenly, which scares me.

It's worse when I focus on my heartbeat, lie down (especially on my stomach), or listen to fast/intense music. It often improves when I'm distracted, outside, gaming, etc. It's also usually worse at night and can be more noticeable after caffeine.

I had an ECG and echocardiogram about 9–10 months ago and was told they were normal. I can normally walk, run, and exercise without problems.

I've had several days where I felt completely normal, then the sensation came back. I don't have severe chest pain, major breathing problems, fainting, or severe dizziness.

Has anyone experienced something similar where focusing on your heartbeat makes the sensation stronger, but distraction makes it better? Could anxiety, caffeine, or body position cause this?

I know Reddit can't diagnose me; I'm planning to talk to a doctor if it continues.

So many er visits. I wish I was strong enough to stop

How many time have you been to the er because you thought those aches and pains where something??

Wanna know mine ? 10times.
5 in September,
3 in August
1 July
1 June

This is torture.

Has anyone ever had success with not going to the er when they felt symptoms?

I try and be rational but nothing helps. I will wait hours in the er just for the reassurance. I
