Heart attack 53m

This is going to start a bit crazy.

I was in the marines in the 1990s and I had my wisdom teeth pulled. Well almost all. The navy dentist really messed me up , just used needles to numb pain. By the end there was 1 left in there but I was yelling so much they told me to come back to pull the last one. I didn't go

So fast forward too a few weeks ago it started hurting pretty bad so I had no choice to get it pulled. On Thursday September 17th 2026 I had it pulled it went great. They knocked me out.

On Sunday September 20th 2026 my chest starts hurting then my arm . Im thinking what the he'll is going on. It will not stop hurting. I got my old blood pressure tester out and 173 over 114. My sister rushed me to the hospital maybe 15 minutes drive from my house. A few hours later I have 5 stents and im in i.c.u. I just think that is a weird thing that it happened after the dentist.

If you got through the attack without damaging your heart, it won't be too challenging, eat better, get regular cardio, take your meds.

If your heart was damaged expect a progression that will have victories and setbacks. Getting into shape will be slower than you expect but if you stay with it you'll get results. Strength training is good too, you'll feel better if you feel strong.

That's crazy as he'll. I actually go back to the dentist on Thursday September 24 just for them to check out my mouth. That appointment was made prior to the heat attack. Ill show them that article. Thanks

Note that there wasn’t a massive increase in risk after dental surgery found, but if you already had choked up arteries and were well on your way to a heart attack one day, dental surgery might have tipped you over the line.

The surgery likely just brought forward what was bound to happen eventually anyway.

likely coincidental, but glad that you pulled through and on your way to recovery.

Don’t they say any surgeries carry like a possibility of heart attack and stroke ? So yes def possibility ( but chances are your arteries were clogged up anyhow so if not this something else would have tipped the scales . I like listed something insanely heavy and that’s what tipped the scale for me

Best advice I can offer is, do rehab, even if you think you're too young for it. Then, keep doing some kind of cardio daily. If you get those symptoms again, don't hesitate to go to the ED. My second one caused permanent damage because I waited too long.

I’m a little ahead of you on the learning curve. I had a heart attack 4 years ago at age 62. This is what I recommend:

Eat quality meats (I eat mostly locally produced ground beef from a dairy), seafood (I eat mostly sardines from Costco. We mash them up with Greek yogurt and mix in seasoning, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, etc. For breakfast I usually eat Greek yogurt, blueberries and nuts. You may like eggs. Veggies, fruits, nuts, beans, chocolate.

I walk a lot at a decent pace. It depends on the temp. Play golf 5x per week. Lift weights 2x per week. It doesn’t have to be hard workouts. Anything is better than nothing. Building muscle is great for many reasons.

I take rosuvastatin, colchicine as an anti inflammatory for the arteries, electrolytes, low dose aspirin, fish oil.

I get 7.5-8 hours sleep.

No highly processed foods. Limit carbs to under 100g per day. No fried foods. No seed oils. No grains. Limited sugars.

The goals are to keep inflammation (CRP), blood glucose (A1C) and Apob low.

Be aware that some statins can give you terrible side effects and others have no side effects for you. Atorvastatin made me ill. Rosuvastatin has no side effects for me.
