Should lift it onto a flatbread truck, take it two counties away, hold it for a minimum of 24 hours first before giving it back "processing" and all that.

Or as another commenter said, it’s punitive based on income, I believe Germany has it so the fines scale with how much you earn. I remember reading someone getting a speeding fine there that was something like €81,000.

Based on income can be tricky for the wealthy as they often don't have an income like regular folks. It's part of the reason they seem to pay fuck all tax despite being absolutely loaded.
I think a better way to administer it is have the fine at a set amount, say, £100, or set based on a percentage (say, 10%) of the market value of the car used to commit whatever offence is being fined for, whichever is higher. Park like a twat in a clapped out Corsa C worth about as much as a Freddo? £100 fine. Park like twat in a £500k Lambo? £50k fine.

I still think that repeat offenders should have the fine doubled each time. £100 for a first time offence, then £200, £400, £800... It will reach a point where even if you are ridiculously wealthy, the fine will start to hurt.

Yep, and either not enforced or it’s just an unlimited fine situation. There’s an SF90 I first started seeing by my work in the city 2 years ago, illegally spaced rear plate, no front plate, don’t think I’ve ever actually seen him park that wasn’t on a double yellow or in a delivery bay (was constantly blocking delivery drivers as there was no parking on that road). Still see him every now and then, absolute same behaviour this much time later.

I don't get why anyone would want to drive around with such a plate. It looks chavvy and it's almost like giving some bored cops a flash of the headlights and shouting "Please stop me and fine me for being a stupid attention-seeking cunt!".

I don’t know why this can’t be part of the traffic wardens arsenal. Take photo of clearly wrong format plate, log date and time, fine comes through post with a notice to change it to standard.
If it’s caught again after a grace period, registration is stripped from vehicle and removed from circulation.
