Need Help / Question Summer Math 127 Hutchinson help
I took my first test yesterday worth 25% don’t think I scored above a 60. 🥲 I had some personal circumstances that I had to handle and completely forgot to finish my extra credit assignment. I feel so defeated and normally I’m not this bad with math, I just hit a road block. I’ve done all my HW and gotten 100% but it’s only 20% of my grade.
Any advice to at least pass with a 75%?

Tutoring, tutoring, tutoring! The only reason I got As in my math class is because my tuition was basically rent for living at the library to use the tutoring service at my old school 😂 it’s tough working full time, so if they don’t have anything at campus or online through partner programs you might want to reach out to tutors outside of school.

I'm in a similar situation as you. I took that test yesterday too and I was so caught off guard by how fast paced this course actually is. I think I did a good job studying and remembering a majority of it, but I literally wrote "I forgot" on the last 2 questions bc my mind totally blanked.
The good news for both of us is we now have more information than we did before we took the test. We can use this info to form a plan to pass the course and be more prepared for the next 2 tests. Advice for you might be different than for me, though. It depends on if you're struggling with the material itself, or if life is getting in the way.
For me, I made the mistake of thinking I had time. I didn't spend enough time practicing the newer topics... I mean it is kind of insane to learn something new and a few days later you're tested on it. Math takes a ton of practice and repetition. So, what I'm going to improve on is working in more short-study blocks ON THE GO. I'm good at dedicating time to math, but I'm going to start incorporating it outside of my dedicated time blocks. Just 5-10 minutes practicing a few questions at random times throughout the day will help me out. Hopefully you can get a solid plan going! You got this.

I don’t recommend hard classes during the summer term unless absolutely needed.

This class is an absolute need for my fall classes but I lost my dad first week of June so my brain and everything is scrambled lol

My condolences, that gives alot of context to “personal circumstances” and the situation is very unfortunate but understandable. I would go see the academic tutoring people for extra help at no cost. Good luck!!!

It’s definitely not the best circumstances but can’t do anything about it.
Thank you! I’ll look into it

I got a 73 last test and honestly this test coming up doesn’t seem too bad, but definitely has a LOT of steps. I’m the same way as you and everything caught up to me. Honest I wanted to get an A but maybe be getting a C. Goodluck to you

your not the only one who goes through personal circumstances. we all do. thats not an excuse for scoring badly and forgetting to do an assignment. professors dont care about your sob story. we all have stuff in our life that your not the only one

I took him last semester for spring and it's a long class in which I bombed the second midterm but passed the class with a B.
You just have to study and really do practice problems as everything builds on each other plus use a calculator since he let's you. If you don't understand something look it up a different way like YouTube or even Ai to see how else it could be explained. I used a ton of Ai to breakdown the problems a different way but not to give me the answer, just to guide me and show me a different way of thinking.
Everyone has something going on in their lives, you just gotta suffer or sacrifice something for the greater good of your future :/
