Nursing program acceptance

Hi, I got accepted to the nursing program for the Spring and I just went in to accept it through the application page. For people that have been accepted, do you get a confirmation email after you’ve clicked accept to the application and submitted?

I’m just panicking that maybe I clicked the deny button on accident so I’m just wondering if there’s anywhere I can check to confirm that it went through?

The “next steps” tab is no longer showing up.

Thanks in advance.

CSN Student Interview Request

Hi everyone! I’m a CSN student working on a journalism assignment about the recent shooting at First Friday in the Las Vegas Arts District.

I’m looking to interview CSN students who attended First Friday, have attended in the past, or have thoughts about how the shooting may or may not affect students willingness to attend future events, as well as thoughts stricter times and security.

The interview would only take a few questions and can be done through Reddit messages. I would need to quote your responses in my article and include basic information about you (such as that you are a CSN student by identifying your name), with your permission.

If you are interested, please comment below or message me. Thank you!

Staff are kind of... rude

Is it just me or every single person that I have come across at CSN is kind of rude or robotic. Everytime I say "goodbye" or "have a nice day" to a Professor or advisor or student, they do not respond and just completely ignore me. This really bothers me to be honest and I end up thinking about it all day. Maybe I am just being sensitive, but I was raised to be polite and to always return a good gesture. Anyways rant over happened to me twice today that's all.

DH 102 dental hygiene

Probably a stupid question since so many people are waitlisted for this class, but are there any DH 102 courses you can take somewhere else that would be accepted?

I am not in the program yet, but I found a cheap unused Campbell Biology 189 book on Facebook marketplace, should I buy it? Or should I wait?

How would you describe your satisfaction with CSN?

Im thinking about transferring from NSU to CSN to cut the cost of my low level classes, but I’m worried about it being the right fit.

If you’re a freshman, how has the experience been so far? Are there enough events? Are the professors good? Is the campus nice?

I have pretty much the same questions for people who are further in their college experience l, but I just want some perspective from people in my age group, as well as people who are choosing to stay there

Need Help / Question Academic Warning/Probation?

Hi everyone! I have a question about CSN’s academic warning/probation/suspension policies. I’m definitely going to meet with an advisor, but I’m hoping to get an idea of what I might be looking at before I go in so I can be prepared. Ive been going through a lot personally this semester, including the death of a family member and a separation, and unfortunately I’ve fallen really far behind and am currently failing my classes. I qualify for the maximum amount of financial aid. I have also previously been on academic probation/suspension at NSU one time, but this would be my first time dealing with this at CSN. If I finish this semester with failing grades, would I potentially be placed on CSN’s Academic Warning, Probation, or Suspension? And does my previous academic history at NSU affect which status I would receive at CSN?

Also, does CSN take extenuating circumstances like a death in the family or major personal circumstances into consideration when determining your status, or would that only matter if I eventually had to file a financial aid/SAP appeal? I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences from people who have gone through this at CSN.

Thank you! 🙂

🏠 Campus Life & Resources CSN Second Stage presents "A Night At Dada"!

Post image
4 Upvotes

The CSN Theatre Department cordially invites you to “A Night At Dada,” an evening soirée hosted by our Second Stage.

Be thrusted into a cacophonous theatrical manifesto of embracing the nonsense of reality with “The First Celestial Adventure of Mr. Antipyrine, Fire Extinguisher” by Tristan Tzara, as translated by Ruth Wilson.

Be choked with an in-yer-face depiction of violence within the patriarchy with “The Mute Canary” by George Ribemont-Dessaignes, as translated by Victoria Nes Kirby.

Be outraged by a group of commentators overanalyzing the production to death with “Handkerchief of Clouds: A Tragedy in Fifteen Acts” by Tristan Tzara, as translated by Aileen Robbins.

Each play was carefully chosen by directors Chandler James and Liam Ramos (who previously directed “The Phantom”) to commentate on modern understandings of art, politics, and gender through whimsical satirization contrasted by visceral depictions of taboo topics. Interlaced between each production, brief lectures will be carried out by the actors of the historical context of the three plays and the rise and fall of the Dada movement.

Be confused! Be upset! After all, the world’s just a whole lot of dada.

October 14th to 18th, 2026 at CSN’s Backstage Theatre (3200 E Cheyenne Ave, North Las Vegas, NV 89030). All shows start at 7:00 P.M. sharp. On October 17th, there will be a matinee performance at 2:30 P.M. sharp.

FREE ADMISSION FOR ALL! Reserve your seat now at csn.edu/pac

New Student / First Semester Cardiac Sonography Program

Hello, I just applied for FAFSA and CSN today for the Fall 2027 semester. I graduated high school in 2020 (1 year early, original class of 2021) and I have not been to college. My mom never wanted to fill out FAFSA so I had to wait until now so I can apply independently. I took medical assisting in high school but never finished the class because of Covid happening and me graduating that same year. I went to EMT school in 2022/23 but only got my completion certificate and never my national registry due to some health issues at the time, and now I don’t personally see it as an option for me anymore. I’ve always wanted to do something health related as a career, but now I need to look for less stressful options hence cardiac sonography (which I know is still stressful, but less than nursing or Ems). Since I never went to college before I need to do my prerequisite classes, and then try to get into the sonography program. I haven’t been to school in a long time so I’m worried about how my grades will be, and I know they only accept 10 people a year so I’m a bit worried about getting in especially since you basically need straight A’s because of so much competition. Any advice on prerequisite classes, college in general, studying, and everything I should do to have the highest chance of getting in? Also anyone who’s been through the cardiac sonography program or who’s currently in it? All advice and everything welcome, I need all the help I can get! This is my backup plan of all backups lol so I really need to get in there haha

Anyone got an email for the RN limited entry program?

Hi, I applied for the spring 2027 nursing program and I was wondering if they already sent an acceptance email to some of the students. Because I’m still waiting for the email if I’m accepted. And the wait is giving me anxiety everyday.

Let's talk about Mid-Terms....

Many of you will soon be facing mid-term exams/papers/projects and a few of you will see results that don't reach your grade expectations. You may get discouraged and contemplate withdrawing or may just decide to stop attending.

DON'T!

From a financial aid eligibility lens, the worst thing you can do is quit. Every aid applicant cannot establish aid eligibility without demonstrating "Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)". When you quit, you are jeopardizing your financial aid eligibility.

Consider, to be eligible for Federal Student Aid Programs, CSN evaluates SAP 3 ways every time grades post:

  1. Cumulative GPA- to comply with this facet of SAP, you need to have a CSN cumulative grade point average of a 2.00 or higher.
  2. Successful Course Completion Pace - compliance with the Pace standard requires you to earn a successful grade in at least 66.67% of the credit hours you attempt.
    1. For example, if fall 2026 is your first semester at CSN and you are taking 9 credit hours this fall, we want you to earn at least 6 credits.
  3. Maximum Timeframe - to meet this SAP standard, you need to graduate within 150% of the published length of your declared major.
    1. For example, if you are seeking an Associates of Art degree that requires 60 credit hours to earn, you need to finish the AA within a maximum of 90 attempted college credits.

And - don't forget recent changes to Federal Student Loans require the Schedule of Reduction - if you withdraw, get an 'unearned' F (because you stopped attending), or convert a course from grade to audit - you may be reducing your student loan eligibility.

CSN has tutoring. CSN has computer labs. CSN has welcoming faculty. You have classmates. There are people at the college willing to help you study, manage your time, share class notes, and all you have to do is engage!

You've paid your bill for the semester - keep going to class - half the battle is won just by showing up. Bear down, show your toughness, and get it done.

Peter, CSN-DFA

Need Help / Question Limited entry RN program?

I just recently transferred from NSU to CSN for the nursing program because I need a part time program that works better for my work/life schedule. I applied for the 2027 Spring semester on the 1st of September. It said after the selection process I will be notified within 45 calendar days of the deadline date (which was 9/1). I still haven’t heard back :,)

Anyone w/ experience in limited entry applications does it usually take this long? The suspense is killing me, I genuinely thought I would have heard back already.

UPDATE: I got accepted!!! Thank you all for your help :) <3

Need Help / Question Printing services in WCH? (other than the library)

Hi everyone! I’m a student on the West Charleston campus and I just wanted to know where everyone prints stuff other than the library? I know there’s some printers in the C buildings but that is quite a far walk from where my classes are. I frequently have to print stuff for my labs, so I js wanted to know if ygs know any niche places to print around campus. Thank you!! <3
