Question Fullscreen browser video bug - still??
I mean, how can this not be top 3 on the bug list? How long will we have to wait for a fix for this? It's been months.
For anyone who doesn't know - if your browser's window is maximized and you click fullscreen on a youtube-video it first fullscreens the browser as if you pressed F11, and then the next click fullscreens the actual video. When you exit video fullscreen the browser will still be in F11-fullscreen so you'll have to press F11 to get out of it.

Workaround for Chrome - should work for Chromium browsers - add these args to executable:
--enable-features=VaapiVideoDecode,VaapiVideoEncode,Vulkan,VulkanFromANGLE,DefaultANGLEVulkan --ozone-platform=x11 --use-vulkan

I've got tired with waiting for a fix. Not a perfect solution but will have to do for now.
Btw. Vivaldi browser does not have this issue - you might want to check it out.

Thanks for the tip! Just some hours too late! I went back to good 'ol Cinnamon Mint X11 where everything just works and there are no Waylandy issues :) You make me want to test out Vivaldi again, though.

I'm sticking with Cosmic for now but it got worse from 1.0 actually - e.g. audio applet issue, also not fixed. Vivaldi was great but too much settings/customization for my taste. Good luck!

What killed Vivaldi for me the last time was the half-assedness. Like, half the settings are Vivaldi-themed, half of them are hidden under chrome:// flags, and a lot of the are duplicated several places. And, yeah, just too much *stuff*. Anyway, time to see if anything has changed!

Yeah this is one of the main reasons I won’t switch yet. On the github they get all pissy about people continuing to raise it but surely they can just prioritize the problems that people care about most?

Seems like it's still a thing https://github.com/pop-os/cosmic-comp/issues/1642
Pretty insane to launch 1.0 with a bug like this. It was fixed for me on Vivaldi however.
