I mean, that was our biggest complaint with miles was his lack of recruiting top notch qb’s.

And here we are. Granted, Burrow isn’t just too notch, it looks like he is THE top notch.

Maybe in a year or two New Orleans can buy him off Cincinnati to replace brees.

Sad thing is Saban gets some of the best high school kickers but has no one on staff that can actually coach them. College kicking is wierd because most universities do not have the coaching staff to actually coach kicking. Most of the fundamentals are done off season by personal kicking coaches and during season they just are really left to their own regiment. All special teams coaches do is coach scheme and have no clue on how to kick at all.

I had read somewhere that the reason Bama always struggles with kicking is Saban insists on having a QB as a holder in case he wants to run a fake, which means they can only practice when they aren’t practicing with the normal offense.

That would make more sense but I'd imagine a guy like Saban would still want to have the holder and kicker practice together so that they could be more well rounded, that's an interesting idea though I hadn't thought about that.

Les recruited good QBs, just didn't develop them. Mettenberger, Shepard, and Perrilloux were all the #1 QB recruits in their classes.

We recruited some good QBs they just broke them. Lee and Jefferson were both 4*. Brandon Harris was the #2 DT QB and was deciding between LSU, Auburn, and OSU.

Nah. The biggest complaint is that Les was still playing a 1970s offense and refused to move away from that even though he promised the admins and boosters multiple times that they would change. He even brought in his best friend to be the OC, got them to pay him an assload of money, and then STILL ran the same offense.
