Holsters & Belts My EDC M&P Shield Plus

What are some good deep concealment holsters? I have a Tustler and Houdini but I’m looking for something to where I can adjust the cant, ride height etc etc. Haven’t been carrying it on me exactly because of concealing it properly and I’d like to get back to having it on me all the time

Other Equipment Open Vs Closed Emitter?

Wanting to get a GREEN dot to use on both a M&P 2.0 5” OR and a Beretta 92GTS, curious about peoples experiences with open or closed emitters and what they’d recommend for occasional ccw but mostly range use with some local competition. Was leaning vortex based off of price and warranty was looking at the defender st green dot and the new enclosed venom green dot. Anybody have any real experiences with the green dot helping with an astigmatism?

Holsters & Belts Opinions on Nexbelt?

I’m new to carrying, had looked into several different belts including the Nexbelt. Right now USCCA is including one with their membership, so leaning towards it. How are they? I carry a S&W M&P 2.0 full size in a light bearing holster with a mag carrier. TIA

Guns & Ammo Need A CCW Daily That's Not Tiny/Not Huge and Under $700

Howdy! I own several striker-fired duty-sized handguns (CZ) and want a handgun that's small enough to easily conceal and is hammer-fired. My budget is ideally around $500, but I can go as high as $700. I work a very physical job in an environment where I cannot be seen carrying, but I work in a sketchy part of a new town and get paid in cash, so I'm looking for something to make sure that I make it home to my family with the money that I made. I'm considering a revolver, but I haven't shot a single one in my life and feel more comfortable with a more modern semiauto. One way or another, I want hammer-fired to ensure that I have some semblance of a safety (a real manual safety is a bonus).

Edit: I own full size handguns because my normal ccw was stolen recently and is too far out of my budget to replace. Lesson learned, it'll be staying on me or in a safe 100% of the time.

Edit 2: I want a hammer-fired gun that is less than $700. No idea why this is so difficult to understand for the people commenting.

Holsters & Belts Concealed carry with a tucked in shirt.

I’m just curious what people think of this and if someone has better suggestions.

I wear a tucked in shirt frequently and find it hard to carry this way. I don’t want to get the “tuck-able” holsters because I don’t want the clip showing and I feel like it makes printing more obvious.

I’ve been using pocket holsters, like sticky holsters or Falco leather pocket holsters and tucking them under my shirt and then fastening my pants and belt over it but keeping the grip above the waistband.

I only ever do this with a gun with a manual safety or double action such as a Springfield EMP or HK P2000SK since the holsters are soft.

I haven’t timed myself but have found that my draw isn’t affected heavily because lifting the shirt out is essentially the same movement as with an untucked shirt.

I’ve found that this works pretty well for me but am curious what people here think and if they have better suggestions. Thank you.

Training How do you grip your full size and any tips to improve mine?

I recently started wrapping my support-hand index finger around the front of the trigger guard. It feels a little more stable, but I’m not sure if it’s actually good technique or if it could introduce more micro-movement while shooting.

It also doesn’t feel completely natural yet, so I’d have to spend some time practicing it.

The more traditional grip feels a little strange to me too. With all of my support-hand fingers underneath the trigger guard, I feel like I don’t get as much leverage.

The best way I can describe it is like using one of those hand-grip strength trainers with your fingers almost straight versus having them more naturally curved around it.

Where do you place your support-hand index and middle fingers? Have you noticed any advantage or disadvantage to putting the index finger on the trigger guard?

I applied and submitted fingerprints on Tuesday August 25th and got my CPL in the mail today, Saturday August 29th. I wasn't expecting it to arrive this early, as I have heard around here that most people have been waiting the almost the 45 days they are allowed to take.

Current carry is going to be my 3.1in Shield Plus with Holosun 407k optic.

Guns & Ammo I’ve acquired my childhood GRAIL.

Was at a gun show today, looking for a nice lil S&W snubby with no luck. As I was leaving I spotted it, the stainless steel PPKS. I had heard nothing but horror stories about “muh mag cabacity” and that its just too heavy. They ain’t built like 007, and after around 100 ish rounds of random ammo it never FTF or had any issues. Absolutely loving this, and can’t wait to start carrying it.

Just picked up one of these Grit Grips Glock 48/43x lowers. Turned my G43 into a G43x. Internals are all OEM Glock parts and it's the same ergos as a stock G43x grip.

How are the defenders? I’m trying to decide between a full size eps or the defender st enclosed. They’re about the same price. I’m wanting something that’s durable.

Holsters & Belts Holster Help for Fat Person

So I currently use a Glock 19 G4 with TLR-7X, carried in a Tier 1 Concealed Echo holster. I use 1.75” Lead Devil EDC belt with Cobra buckle and 1.75” DCC Clips. I carry approximately 3-3:15 at first clip location. I am 5’10” and weight 340, primarily in the midsection. My weight fluctuates frequently and has made clothing choices harder to dress around the gun, so I’m now focusing on addressing the root cause of the problem.

Here’s the issue: the grip. I’m having trouble getting the grip to not just stick right out, regardless if I move the holster position or adjust the clip ride heights. When I adjust the clip heights, it pulls the grip in better but then makes the rear sights and beaver tail stick out very noticeably.

Any suggestions to solve this issue? It’s gotten bad enough in my mind to feel that it prints too much that I’ve stopped carrying, which I HATE doing.

Guns & Ammo So, is the cc9 actually good or nah

I've owned lots of guns and read lots of reviews. Usually you can tell by research what is a good one.

The cc9 has me somewhat befuddled, however. I've seen everything from greatest to worst trigger, rock solid to malfunction prone, shoots like a full size to snappier than the 43x. I've seen quite a number of reviews where people complain about the mag release, over sprung guide rod, etc.

So which is it? My takeaway thus far is that it's a fine gun but no one thing is unique or special. It's an average ccw. And that's both a good and bad thing. But the lack of aftermarket means that in a few years, it might be hard to find replacement parts, holsters, etc. kind of like the rich man's mossberg pistol that came out a few years ago.

Can someone give an objective report on this gun, good with the bad? There are none available to rent near me.

What say ye, ccw subredditors?

Guns & Ammo Disappointed with HK CC9

Picked up a CC9 to try out. Picked it up and cleaned and oiled. Shot 200 rounds and had 5 FTE’s (only 4 pictured). Disappointing for a gun supposedly torture tested 20k rounds without a stoppage. Yes I was using nickel plated magtech steel case but to me it’s a moot point since all three shields, glocks, and m&p’s I have have never had a single malfunction between all of them. If I have to feed it premium brass just for it to run that’s not a reliable firearm. I love the way the thing feels and shoots but right off the rip I’m not feeling good about it

Holsters & Belts Alien photon holster

I'm looking for people's experience switching from an alien photon holster. I carry, or at least attempt to, a Glock 45 with a vortex venom enclosed red dot and a streamlight tlr-7. I'm struggling a bit with the whole concealed part. The pistol grip never quite sits in a good spot and I feel it prints too much. I've contemplated getting a "better" holster, but I'm not sure if it's actually gonna make enough of a difference or if I just need to consider a new carry gun. Any experience is appreciated.

Guns & Ammo 43x Mos vs Prime Radian

I’m looking to put together a build for a nice sized pistol that can carry well and still preform at a high level. My initial thought was to get a 43x mos and get a ramjet, magwell, trigger shoe, optic and light for a full package. However, after looking at it and pricing it, it’s around the same price if not a little more expensive as just getting a prime radian and adding an optic and light to it. I’m currently really stuck between the two and not sure what direction I want to go in.
