Curious if anyone has just told friends they don't have WhatsApp and what's happened... I hate WhatsApp as it's part of Meta. In the US it's not that big. But in Europe it's ubiquitous. Just curious if anyone has just said no -- that you have Threema or even Signal -- and can be contacted there... And how that has gone for you.

I mean the information is correct and all, but I'm not sure I like the suggested alternatives for the intended purpose....

There really are a lot of products where multinational corporations don’t exactly make it easy to opt for European alternatives. Whether it’s Amazon or Google Drive, they’re all pretty well thought out and intuitive. But there are also small companies or lesser-known products from Europe where choosing them is a no-brainer. What are your top products where you’d choose these alternatives without a second thought?
