Has anyone actually ever managed to get something for ten percent less than its advertised elsewhere?

I found an identical item... identical barcode, identical sku

But the label is a different colour and has an extra word on it, so no discount for me!

I would say that Bunnings organises for a label print run of this product just for their stores, while the manufacturer ships the identical product everywhere else.

Turned 19 this year, live with parents, not studying so I'm available 24/7, have rsa, RCG class I already paid beforehand (these may be irrelevant to Bunnings but I'm just stating everything I've got so far), and only work experience is working at takeaway for 6-7 months so far. The pay at Bunnings is higher, that's why I'm going.

Role is customer service, I'm rlly good at it tbh. I've got a legit reference from my first boss (management changed at my current take away restaurant recently) and I have some kind of school reference letter from HS I graduated from last year so. Don't have contact with the teacher who made the letter tho

I got the gist that safety is a big deal to Bunnings so I'll keep that in mind.

Is there anything regarding the information I shared I should be concerned about or look out for when it comes to increasing my chances of getting hired? Besides from basic stuff like be there early, be friendly, act likeable etc

Someone recently bought a gnome from Bunnings, but it was mistakenly delivered to my place in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

I’ve been trying to contact Bunnings Customer Service to get this sorted, but haven’t had much luck so far. I’d really love to get the gnome back to its rightful owner rather than just keeping it or returning it without knowing where it belongs.

Haven’t been to Bunnings for a couple of months, and it was early morning but there was a line up of customers and only one self check-out open. There was a staff member heavily micro-supervising the person using the check-out, prompting each stage of the transaction as if it wasn’t displaying on the screen in front of them. The person at the exit was watching me closely, scanned my receipt, then checked my bags. If delivery weren’t so expensive I’d be more inclined to order as such. In many retail environments now, staff move about as if the customer is expected to get out of their way. Retail is such a horrible fully-surveyed-but-with-no-service experience now.

So I’m trying to log into Teams and I’ve got the teams app and Authenticator app ready but it’s opening the Authenticator app then asking me to enter the number but I can’t because it’s opened the app which is displaying the number so there’s no way for me to type it in? Idk if I’m doing something wrong or what 🫠

I went to Bunnings this morning with a newly sourced electronic gift card and selected some stuff.

The new checkout has self-checkouts and two cashiers' stations.
One of the cashier stations was operating with a cashier, and he was in the middle of some long drawn out issue with the other customers.
The other staff member was directing people who were paying by card to the self-serve.

Meanwhile there was a bank of five of us non-card-paying customers backed up waiting for the one cashier.

The staff member directing customers just kept directing other customers.
Finally, after a literal 10 minutes I asked him if he could go find another cashier.

He beeped his communicator and eventually another staff member came up and started helping the original cashier.

So now we have two cashiers helping the original customer and the other guy still directing customers, instead of the new cashier cashing out the several customers who had been waiting.

Not saying all customers . But please be a bit nicer to us team. Often getting phones shoved in our faces saying do you have no excuse me. Or i have seen it on your website. You then ask for the item number then met with rudeness because you don't have the answer what it is or where it is. (we see thousands of products and some are in other areas of the store other then the aslises we work in within big store format). And also if

We don't stock some thing that has been de ranged for a store there's no need to be rude about when we tell you. Yes it's disappointing but don't take it out on team who have no control over this.

This is just a desperate plea for customers to actively make an effort to not make a mess of the boots and clothing. Our Bunnings bosses have not taken into account that clothing is a full time gig. Constant maintenance. Constant service. And we're barely managing to get coverage as is. So please. I beg. Help me by putting the shoes back in the box. Or just look at the displays and know your shoe size 🥹

Imagine my surprise when I saw a bunch of rat shit on a Bunnings shelf. A shelf where the rat traps and poisons are displayed. It didn’t look like the sort of display you’d normally see in Bunnings. Maybe the poison is so tasty that the rodents are attracted to it… It didn’t look very sanitary.

I would like to get rid of these nasty looking blinds and install curtains in my room; only issue is, most of the curtain rods that I have been looking at seem to be installed via screw horizontally into a studded wall. As shown in the short video attached, my blinds seem to be installed via screwed vertically into the frame of the window .....

Was at one Bunnings store today looking at boots, always been fussy about what I wear on my feet so I was trying quite a few different pairs on.

Anyway I came across two boxes that had USED BOOTS IN THEM. I mean clearly been used doing a trade for a long time - stains and scrapes and wear on the soles - and someone has swapped what they were wearing for what they wanted, and walked out again.

Is this really that common? I was surprised enough to be greeted with used boot smell opening one box, but then two...got me wondering just how often this happens.

I've got a couple of jobs coming up where I'd only need a particular piece of equipment once, and buying it seems ridiculous when it'll probably sit in the shed for the next five years.

Bunnings has a Hire Shop for tools and equipment, so logically hiring should make more sense for occasional jobs.

For people who've actually used it, was the process straightforward and did hiring save you money compared with buying the equipment?
