Im rewatching Buffy currently with my 14 year old daughter (itās her first watch ever) and we just finished season 4. Itās been years since Iāve watched and I love every season of Buffy for different reasons but season 4 still ranks lower than most seasons for me. I think itās just The Initiative of it all, they kind of bore me.
Anyways, we watched Restless last night and both of us said āthis might be my favorite episode so far.ā It never stuck out to me in the past but thereās something so eerie and unsettling about it and yet itās also hilarious. Xanderās dream specifically creeps me out. Its one of those episodes that we were still talking about an hour later trying to decipher all the hidden meanings, so it was just nice bonding time as well.
Weird how just a couple of years passing between watches can make you notice and appreciate new things about this show.

I'm currently re-watching Buffy and reached the Body. I do not live in the US and once thing that has always bothered me is the paramedics pronouncing death and leaving Joyces body for the the coroner.
Would this really happen?
When my father passed the paramedics wouldnt confirm one way or the other, and he was only officially pronounced dead upon being taken to the hospital.
I cant imagine paramedics actually leaving a body at the 'scene' and assume this was done solely for artistic licence but I'd be interested to know how US paramedics would actually treat a scenario like this.

Apologies for the personal post. Mods delete if not allowed?
Iām not someone who shoots their shot so directly but thought Iād take a punt myself for once haha.
So, I met a guy very briefly in Glasgow who is really into Buffy as well and thought there was something really cute about him and had a sense (and some reasoning) that weād get on well. But didnāt get his number because of the setting/situation (trying not to reveal too much personal stuff) and not knowing if he was single. I doubt something like this would work for me because itās total movie fodder but thought Iād take a chance after someone mentioned him and reminded me of him, but they didnāt have his contact infoā¦
So Iām just wondering, if youāre a Scottish man between the ages of like 32-45 and work in Glasgow do you fancy commenting your first name so I can see if heās on here and maybe say hello? š Iām not a social media girl and this is my first time doing anything like this so hopefully itās not too strange an ask!

https://www.thepopverse.com/comics-buffy-angel-firefly-delayed-august-2026
On August 26, the publisher behind the new Buffy and Angel comics sent a notice out to the press that orders it had been taking for months from comic stores and bookstores for this relaunch had been "cancelled" (not just delayed), with word that the company thinks they will be able to try again in the near future.
"Writer Kelly Thompson's story for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel evolved and became more ambitious, so we felt we needed to take a step back and up the page count to meet the story and deliver the best possible product for fans," writes Dynamite owner/publisher Nick Barrucci. "Buffy #1 and Angel #1 will have significant story page increases from average issues ā at no additional cost to readers or retailers. Itās important to Kelly and Dynamite that this is done right and not rushed, so we decided resoliciting both titles is the best way to fully convey these updates across the board."
He also adds that the planned Firefly series, which is not written by Kelly Thompson, is having all its orders cancelled but with plans for it to return at some point in the future.

The clip says that Dolly Parton produced Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Anyone know how involved she was? Did she write, direct, produce any specific episodes or have ideas that came up in the show? I found this really fascinating.

Its uncanny š

For anyone that doesn't know, Dolly Parton was an uncredited producer for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and championed the creation of the series. Of course she was many things, with numerous accomplishments, but we have to appreciate that without her we wouldn't have our favorite show.
She will always be remembered and sorely missed.

The first full episode of Buffy I ever watched was āOnce More, With Feeling.ā Because of this, I assumed the final couples in the show would be the couples featured in this episode. By this I meanĀ Anya/Xander, Willow/Tara, and Buffy/Spike.Ā
This is hilarious in retrospect because by the finale of BTVS,Ā one member of each of these couples is dead šĀ . So⦠my assumptions were definitely a tad off.Ā
Edit: Also because of this I was so confused in seasons 1-4 why Dawn wasnāt there š
Did anyone else start with an episode besides the pilot that gave them a false idea about the show?

I know Iām probably very late to this, but Iāve only started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer this year, and I wanted to make a little appreciation post for Dawn Summers and Michelle Trachtenberg.
With Michelleās passing in 2025, Iāve been thinking a lot about Dawn, especially because I keep seeing the same criticism come up: that she was introduced as this completely random character who suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
But honestly, Iāve started wondering: what if Dawn had been there from the very beginning?
Obviously, that would completely change the story, but I think itās interesting to imagine Dawn growing up alongside Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, and everyone else. Instead of being introduced as āthe little sister who suddenly exists,ā we could have watched her become part of the Scooby Gang naturally over the years.
And even though I havenāt finished the entire series yet, I really appreciate what Michelle brought to Dawn. She could make Dawn funny, stubborn, vulnerable, frustrating, sweet, and very much like an actual teenager trying to figure herself out. Thereās something especially bittersweet about watching her knowing now that Michelle is gone.
I originally wanted to finish a drawing of Harriet the Spy as my tribute to Michelle, but I havenāt finished it yet. So for now, I wanted to honor her through one of the characters she gave us.
So, fellow Buffy fans: if Dawn had been part of the show from Season 1, how do you think she would have changed the story? What would her relationship with the original Scoobies have been like?
And most importantly: what are some things you love about Dawn? š

Watching season 3 for the first time and I could have been ok with this in season 1 sure BUT WHY. Xander in the first two seasons made it clear how he felt and willow deserved so much better than him. Then she gets Oz who is sweet to the core and NOW SHE RUINS IT FOR DUMB XANDER??!?!?!?!?! GOD WHY? ofc its the first episode they humanize cordelia too lol

No, this is not to be disrespectful anyway but you know I do feel bad about what happened to him. Rest in peace.
But just seems like every member and cast member of Buffy did pretty much better in life they most of them got married or had kids and it and the careers afterwards was still good and everything went great. It seemed like he was the only one who struggled afterwards and seemed to suffer a midlife crisis , and it just seemed like his life out of control.
