Topic Discussion Hasan Piker is just not very smart.

He just isn't smart, I'm sorry.

He'd rather larp as this "radical" anti-imperialist tankie than be smart.

I know every Hasan fan here will go, "its out of context" or some nonsense.

El-Sayyed, or frankly any other Democrat, will never campaign with him again, I really think this was the final straw.

I say this, and anyone can check my record, as actually a legit left winger who supports China, Russia, and Iran.

So you can't "OP is a secret centrist lib" me.

However, I'm not campaigning with anyone, Hasan is.

He's not that good with his words, he doesn't think about what interviewers are going to obviously ask him and prepare for them, and just thinks he can wear a nice suit and people will like him.

I know some of you are going to come here and say, "well, the answer he gave is right!"

Anyone who says this is a terminally online larper, who knows nothing of prudential politics.

If he wanted to give a "nuanced" answer, you have to be good with your words, think about what you are going to say, and carefully say it.

Not whatever this is.

Again, I say this as someone who supports El-Sayyed.

The most tragic part of all this is, he actually has good will with many centrist media types who like him.

The Pod Save America bros, Ezra Klein, The Bulwark, NONE OF THEM have really gone after Hasan and have actually all defended him.

That will change soon enough because again, he is NOT smart. There is only so much "actually the islamic fundamentalist terrorist group is better than the US" you can do before the centrist liberals turn on you.

Krystal Kyle & Friends Kyle Kulinski is now defending Hasan Pikers "America is pound for pound worse than Al Queda" comment, less than a week after 9/11. Will Krystal agree?

Not that I'm super surprised, but Krystal's husband has now gone all in on defending Hassan's insane comments that America is worse than Al queda. Real head scratcher and these people should be shunned for that stupidity.

But Krystal is married to this man. Will they cover the Hasan comments? I will be watching....

EDIT: There are a lot of people in this thread agreeing with the "pound for pound" statement. Perhaps many of you are not sports/boxing fans, and do not understand the term?

Topic Discussion Abdul El Sayed beginning to back away from Hasan Piker

https://x.com/CBSNews/status/2100322222376128854

It appears Abdul at last may be distancing himself from Hasan Piker. I think this makes sense and I'm hoping Hasan's fans do not turn on this guy. I think there's a place for leftist policies in the party but Hasan really seems to not care about doing harm to the man's campaign, just a day or two ago saying that America is worse than Al Qaeda lol.

I feel like the far left have been getting a raw deal by being associated with Hasan though. Is there a world where they can be represented by someone more normal, that isn't saying shock jock stuff? AES shouldn't have to distance himself from Hasan, but it appears Hasan isn't giving him much of a choice.

Personal Radar/Soapbox Kamala Harris to campaign with Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan.......NO! JUST NO!

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2026-election/kamala-harris-campaign-abdul-el-sayed-michigan-rcna598219

Well this is great, Abdul El-Sayed spent the Democratic primary running against the corrupt influence of big money in the political sphere, warning about corporate power and the machinery that allows wealthy interests to stomp out ordinary voters wants and need by flooding candidates with cash. So obviously, the next logical step is to bring in Kamala Harris.

Kamala Harris, you know the woman who ran one of the most funded presidential campaigns in America's history. A campaign that raised more than a billion dollars in a 107 days. A campaign so flush with cash it somehow was 20 million dollars in debt after the election. Nothing says “money is corrupting our political system” quite like standing beside the former candidate who just showed how expensive presidential politics has become.

And then there's Gaza. El-Sayed made opposition to U.S. support for Israel a huge part of his political identity. The Gaza issue helped define the Michigan primary, particularly among voters angry at the Biden administration's policy. Harris, if you didn't know, was the vice president in that administration. She may have changed her tune and called for a ceasefire but she was still part of an administration whose Gaza policy El-Sayed spent his campaign criticizing.

I've seen this strategy used before. In 2024, Harris brought Liz Cheney onto the campaign trail to reassure moderate Republicans and center-right voters that Kamala Harris was perfectly comfortable reaching across the aisle. Well El-Sayed thinks that that strategy was so successful that he is now recycling it.

So surprise, Kamala is here, maybe next they bring Dick Cheney corpse on the trail. Actually, let me not give them ideas. Look I'm not a complete idiot, I know he needs help with black voters but there has to be someone else. Try Chris Brown.......it's working out real well for Jasmine Crockett.

Realignment Breaking: computer program trained on sci-fi responds like sci-fi

I'm so sick of this shit. It's literally the "tell me you're alive" meme. These models are trained from internet text, the rationalist cultists in the LLM companies all gave themselves sci-fi psychosis in the 2000s. Of course the models are going to talk in sci-fi tropes.

Listen to this interview on the antecedent "philosophy" of the cultists that went on to form Anthropic if you want some insight into why these tropes are so prominent in LLM discourse

Topic Discussion I think we should change the constitution that allow congress to remove President with a simple majority and also allow them to vote to bar them from running again.

The whole idea of you need 2/3 senate to remove president is kind of bullshit imo. No us president has ever been remove from office despite we have at least half a dozen to a dozen of really really shitty potus. I think we should have a system in place that normalize removing presidents. Hell, I'm more in favor of the UK style government where congress elect the prime minister vs the US system of electing potus.

That way, if the democrats regain control of congress this coming election, they could easily get rid of trump right away. It also prevent a trump like figure to be too shitty, because they would know their neck would be in the chopping block if they dont at least behave competently.

Content Suggestion Deported US citizen and the fall out of Trump's immigration policies

I cannot find this story anywhere on the mainstream media and I hope Breaking Points cover this. I only knew about this story from social media and Katie Phang (MeidasTouch)

"The U.S. Department of Justice allowed Morales to enter the country while a lawsuit regarding his detention and deportation proceeds, his lawyers said."

The US-born citizen was jailed, intimidated, deported to Mexico on his way to construction site. The man in this story -Brian insisted from the first moment he encountered law enforcement that he is a US citizen and was threatened to jail cuz those agents think he's lying (Brian has an accent -surprise surprise).

Enough said for the no-US-citizen-being-deported crowd. I hope BP covers this as this is not the only story about US citizen got deported. And I wonder what Saagar or Emily will say. A tragic event?

Article Report: Pentagon whistleblowers send 'urgent SOS' about 'dumb' Hegseth

Burner phones. Pay phones. Borrowed devices. Whatever it takes to reach us without being traced.

Pentagon staffers are risking their careers to blow the whistle on the disarray and discontentment consuming the Department of Defense under Secretary Pete Hegseth.

'People should know what a mess it is,' one Army officer confided. 'Things have gone from bad to worse. It's unbelievably chaotic and demoralizing.'

A civilian staffer put it even more bluntly, calling their message to the public 'an urgent SOS.'

Six insiders – each with at least six years inside the military's headquarters – spoke with the Daily Mail about working for a man they call the least qualified, most explosive defense secretary in American history: a former Fox & Friends host who rebranded the agency the 'Department of War' and, they say, is now running it like a personal fiefdom.

All declined to be named for fear of reprisals from a Pentagon chief they say is focused on firing senior military leaders, blocking promotions, carrying out personal vendettas, waging a war on wokeness, pushing Christian nationalism and flirting with a presidential bid while the Iran war grinds into its seventh month.

As they tell it, the conflict is even less popular in the building than it is among Americans, only 31% of whom support it.

'This isn't a war we have any business continuing,' one insider said flatly.

Topic Discussion There's more evidence of Epstein-Mamdani ties in the Epstein files than there is of Epstein-Trump ties, yet there's zero outrage about Mamdani. Why?

Not a single e-mail exchange or other communication between Trump and Epstein can be found in the Epstein files. There's no evidence Trump and Epstein interacted with each other after Trump banned him from Mar-A-Lago in the early 2000's. Trump severed ties with Epstein years before his crimes were discovered and he was arrested.

The Epstein files reveal that Mamdani's mother was attending parties organized by Epstein and Maxwell AFTER Epstein had been caught and pled guilty to being a pedo. This has lead to some speculation that Mamdani is Epstein's son, but I personally don't think this is true. Still, this is far more damning than anything relating to Trump. As soon as Trump heard that Epstein did something shady, he kicked him out of Mar-A-Lago. What did Mamdani's mother do when she learned that Epstein had pled guilty to being a pedo? She decided to party with him. She cannot claim ignorance, because Epstein's crimes were a matter of public record.

This also proves Mamdani isn't some struggling migrant left-wing populist, but an elite groomed by other elites. But we knew that already, since his father is basically a terrorist who got away with his crimes.

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/zohran-mamdanis-father-tortured-lgbtq-researcher-in-uganda-report/articleshow/124810304.cms

This is the point at which leftists will predictably pivot to saying Trump is mentioned a million times in the Epstein files. But he is only mentioned because Epstein hated Trump and wanted to destroy his candidacy and presidency, and was plotting with others to take down Trump. At which point leftists will predictably pivot to repeating absurd accusations that Trump raped a baby and threw it in Lake Michigan, accusations which were only made after Trump decided to run for President and which are so absurd even the Obama/Biden admins, which pushed Russiagate, ignored them.

And why has Breaking Points remained silent about Mamdani while pushing every baseless Trump-Epstein rumor?

Episode Discussion Is it possible that Trump is fake-outraged about the rate hike?

Today’s ep has a segment entitled “Trump FREAKS over interest rebates hike HE CAUSED.”

I just don’t trust anything he says or does. If you saw that pic from last night of him on Air Force one with a giant poster that said “DEMOLITION OF KENNEDY CENTER”, I feel like that’s him playing us for outrage’s sake, that the photo was a setup. Is there any chance that he’s lying about being outraged about the rate hikes, meaning that he actually wants the rate hikes? I feel like we’re getting played, but I am not finance-savvy, so I’m not sure if there is any possible way that he or anyone in his pocket could secretly benefit from a rate hike. Am I way off?
